@Celebelly. Hope Emma gets better soon. I had jaundice as a baby so also had to stay in hospital for a bit whilst my mum recovered from labour (she lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion). She told me that it was really stressful when trying to feed so I hope that you are getting lots of support and things pick up soon xx

Celebelly · 11/02/2019 21:07

Thanks @bubblybrit Thanks

Hope your wee one doesn't keep you waiting much longer!

bubblybrit · 11/02/2019 21:13

@Celebelly. So do I! I was feeling so positive after my sweep but nothing much has happened since then. Just need to be patient I guess x

lanalawr · 11/02/2019 21:53

@powkin congratulations! You've been through a lot so be kind to yourself. Hope you're feeling more comfortable soon.

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I'm glad. 😀 I didn't want to upset anyone.

@AmberRose17 have you declined induction too or are you currently planning to go in for that? Fingers crossed there's movement soon for you!

@Celebelly I hope Emma's jaundice clears soon and feeding gets back underway nicely.

AmberRose17 · 12/02/2019 06:34

@lanalawr I’m going in today to have my waters broken, which I’m ok with as long as I’m dilated enough and everything is looking favourable. The MW said I was 2cm on Sunday and the baby is low and in a good position (but the horrible junior doc yesterday basically said that means nothing and they’ll make their own assessment on the labour ward - erm ok thanks for that).

They’re keen to give me the ballon induction or even a low dose of hormone gel if I’m not dilated enough to break them manually but I may well decline that as I basically am very wary of too many interventions. I am not anti c section as my first was a great experience so would prob rather have another than allow them to force things via induction.

But we will see - I’ve had some definite strong contractions in the night so I hope things will go the right way today.

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/02/2019 08:02

Congratulations powkin!!! Sorry you had a rough time of it.

Well I'm 38+6 today and on this day with DS (Christmas Day 2015!) I'd been having contractions for 24 hours and they got much much worse around lunch time! He was born the following morning, so unless my labour decides to start today/tomorrow, this baby will come later than him. I'm 200% fine with that though, how different it is this time!

Sounds silly but all I'm really keen for in terms of when this baby comes is before half term ie end of next week, so DS will have some real time at home to get used to the idea, rather than pre-school every morning.

mummymummymummummum · 12/02/2019 09:23

Congratulations @powkin! Sorry it's being a struggle, but sounds like you've got lots of support. Wet and dirty nappies are what you need!

@Lookingforadvice123 I'm in major half term stress at the moment! My daughter (2.5 years) is on half term from nursery this week, but my husband's is next week 🙈 So I'm 40+2 today and planning to chase her around soft play this afternoon 😂 It'll be ok, right?!

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/02/2019 09:26

Haha mummymummymummummum you have to do what you have to do! I took DS to the park yesterday, but I did take him to a softplay last week! It was a smaller one in a community centre though so no climbing/slides etc for me. I probably wouldn't recommend one like that for you either Grin too much like hard work!

Yakadee · 12/02/2019 09:52

I feel you girls on the playgym front! I was still taking my boy in the last few weeks but made sure it was one I wouldn't have to try and creep through holes etc.

Baby Emma is 2 weeks old today - no idea where that's gone! X

sickmumma · 12/02/2019 10:36

Sorry haven't been on for a while ladies!! Life has been hectic! Congratulations to all those that have had their babies!! 37+5 today, still no signs but hoping baby will make an appearance over the next week or so like my others did!

Just waiting for the buggy to arrive Thursday and then we are all ready to go!!

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 11:07

Looks like I’m losing my plug bit by bit. Was up until 5am with tight, crampy tummy. Also had slight backache and felt nauseous when lying down! Nothing regular or too painful so not packing my bags just yet but presume it’s the start of at least something?!?

Surprisedmom · 12/02/2019 12:11

I also appear to be losing my plug. Lots of period type cramps and keep feeling almost like I’ve wet myself (sorry TMI) but it’s just my plug I think. Really hoping this is all the start of labour and bump is on his way 🤞

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 12:13

Oh I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you @Surprisedmom! I’m hoping things move along quickly for both of us x

Leonora94 · 12/02/2019 12:41

@bubblybrit @Surprisedmom I could of written the same posts! Plus so much pressure down below. I've scrubbed my bathroom floor today and I'm off for a swim, really hope it ramps something up! Grin

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 12:46

@Leonora94. I’m planning to go for a walk and then need to clean my bathroom! A little disappointed that the cramping and backache seem to have subsided.....weird how I’m willing myself to be in pain lol 😂

detachablehoof · 12/02/2019 12:46

I'm still getting a bit of brown discharge which the midwife said could be a bit of a show. No other symptoms 🙄 and baby still feels really high up. Really hoping I'll go into labour naturally before Thursday 🤞🏻 reckon I'll scrub some floors today!

Leonora94 · 12/02/2019 12:51

@bubblybrit I know it's weird I basically begging for it @detachablehoof good luck hope it happens before Thursday 🤞🏻

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 13:01

@Leonora94. Yes me too! Completely fed up waiting for this baby to arrive. Looks as if a few of us are in the same position 😬

@detachablehoof. Fingers crossed that you see some progression today!

detachablehoof · 12/02/2019 13:05

Yes also willing myself to be in pain 😂

How overdue is everyone else? I'm 8 days over now, so glad that my trust induce at 10 days over as I really don't think I could wait til next week!

AmberRose17 · 12/02/2019 13:13

I’m in hospital and they were able to break my waters easily with a weird plastic hook thing. I had no idea how much liquid there is! Have been walking up and down the corridor and climbed eight flights of stairs to get contractions going. Am definitely having a few painful surges but it feels like there’s some way to go... Fingers crossed!

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 13:13

@detachablehoof. My due date isn’t until the 16th. It was my midwife at my sweep that suggested I could go into labour early. I really shouldn’t complain when some ladies are overdue. Eight days is a long time....I can only imagine how impatient you must be! Hope you get to meet baby soon x

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/02/2019 14:20

Wow this is all exciting, fingers crossed for everyone losing their plugs!

detachablehoof not overdue yet, due date is 20th Feb so a week tomorrow! If he could come on that day that would be perfect, thanks baby Grin

Leonora94 · 12/02/2019 14:58

I'm due on the 19th (a week today!) so I can't complain too much, but I'm pretty certain I lost my plug yesterday, and things have been cramping and very sore so I'm feeling hopeful.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/02/2019 15:24

I’m due on Thursday.. I can’t see anything happening for a while though.
Next midwife appointment is at 41 weeks, so maybe I’ll have a sweep then, still mulling it over.

AutumnLee12 · 12/02/2019 16:16

Definitely getting fed up now! Not actually due til Thursday but I'm just so excited to meet my baby!! After losing my plug a few days ago I thought he might come early but I guess not! Don't get my wrong I don't want to force him to come and I know he will come in his own time but time is really dragging 😂
