I was pretty sure that I would go overdue so didn't get all my baby clothes washed etc til the week before my due date and only packed my hospital bag on my due date. Just as well, because now everything is ready I am so bored and impatient but not got enough energy to actually do anything!

Leonora94 · 12/02/2019 16:49

I've been batch cooking which has kept me entertained but my freezer is officially full. So back to cleaning already clean things, I think I'm going mad...🙈

Yakadee · 12/02/2019 17:09

I don't envy you girls still waiting, I remember that well! They will be here before you know it though.

I have a cough which is driving me mad. Section recovery going great apart from this blooming cough - can't say it feels very nice - stomach is killing!!! X

Celebelly · 12/02/2019 17:24

Is there a February babies thread? Should we make one? I don't want to clog this thread up with my tales of 4am meltdowns and gigantic nipples that have been tweaked and prodded by most of the staff in the hospital (and possibly a few patients too).

Since2016 · 12/02/2019 17:43

Just checking in ladies - hope those overdue or coming up due are doing ok. I hated that bit last time! Congratulations to those whose babies have arrived!

@celebelly don’t think so? We’re also having a problematic time feeding as Baby has lost more weight than is ideal and v sleepy, so now having to do bottle top ups plus BF - which requires me to express every 3 hours as well - I’m tired 😴

Recovery wise - my bladder is still hurting / causing issues. Added to which all the scarring I had from last time and the blood loss I’m still in a lot of pain. Better today but yesterday was a low point 😣

@Celebelly I think a thread for the babies who have arrived is a great idea. Do you want to start one?

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 18:46

I’m hoping someone with a little more experience may be able to help.....I’ve had mild cramping throughout the day. Feel that they are getting a little more regular but they aren’t increasing in intensity as yet. Just feel like period pains. Waters haven’t broken either. Do I just wait to see if the frequency/intensity gets worse before considering going to the hospital? I’m so confused and don’t want to go in only to be sent home!!

maxiflump1 · 12/02/2019 19:01

@bubblybrit sounds like things may be moving in the right direction. I was like that for about 5 days before I went in for my section. I think generally they only say to call in if your waters break or if contractions as less than 5 minutes apart. Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear!

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 19:05

Not at all @maxiflump1. I think I need to start timing the cramps. Only done so once and it was just under 6 mins apart! Lasted about 30 seconds or so! I am lucky as only stay 20 mins from the hospital. Just don’t want to go in unnecessarily.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/02/2019 19:16

Sounds good @bubblybrit but I wouldn’t go in just yet... I had my mw appointment today and she said 2-3 contractions in 10 mins then think about going in.

I went in with my first after a couple of days of contractions, sndvthryvsehg ne home as I was only 3cm... so demoralising! 😩

Plus, it’s boring! Stay home as long as possible.. get a nice bath or something 👌🏼

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/02/2019 19:17

and they sent me home

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/02/2019 19:24

Yes I agree bubblybrit! I've been reminiscing about this stage with DS when I was in labour, I went in at midday and the midwife said I was 2-3cm. I felt quite positive as I was uncomfortable but not in agony. Fast forward to about 8pm when I went back in, in agony and with close together contractions. I was 2cm! So it felt like I'd regressed. Soul destroying!!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/02/2019 19:25

Oh and bubblybrit try and SLEEP if you can! Rich coming from me as I slept about an hour the first day I was in early labour, but I then didn't sleep at all the following night then DS was born, so that was it, I was 2 nights in debit of sleep before I even had my newborn. Not good! Do anything you can to get some xx

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 19:38

Thanks ladies! I’ll leave it a little longer. Running a bath as we speak. I got no sleep last night due to being so uncomfortable so fingers crossed that I can catch up tonight! Going to take a hot water bottle to bed this evening 😀 xx

hayley013 · 12/02/2019 19:40

Ooo exciting for everyone losing plugs and getting pains! I'm due Friday and baby is so far down making me feel like I'm gonna wet myself constantly, had some cramps but not developing into anything yet. I agree @bubblybrit I'd stay home as long as possible, until around 3 painful pains in 10 mins, I went in and out of hospital 3 times with dd before I stayed and it really is boring in there. I've not lost any plug but I didn't with dd either x

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 19:56

Yeah I really don’t want to be stuck in hospital if I don’t have to @hayley013. Or get sent home for that matter! I’m managing at the moment as used to fairly painful period pain. DH is gonna get throttled though if he asks me one more time when the baby is likely to come....I have no bloody idea!!

Yakadee · 12/02/2019 20:00

@Celebelly @Since2016 - yes to babies thread x

Hope this works!

Leonora94 · 12/02/2019 20:47

@bubblybrit ooo exciting sounds like things are ramping up for you! Also I so understand DH keeps asking when I think it will happen 🙄

bubblybrit · 12/02/2019 21:03

@Leonora94. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed 🤞!! Although the pain is ramping up a little bit as well 😬 DH means well but I don’t have much patience at the moment lol x

Fredthespider · 12/02/2019 21:14

Our little girl arrived on the 30th, things have been a bit nuts since then and I'm barely aware of what day it is with all the appointments/visitors we've had so sorry for not updating you all. I did at least manage to post on the FB group.

In terms of when to go in etc. I managed at home until I was getting 3 contractions in 10 mins then got all excited that I was 'allowed' to go into hospital. Problem was the travel to the hospital started to slow the contractions down, when I got there they said I was 5cm so I could stay, but things slowed massively. 4 hours later I was 6cm and mighty unimpressed. I wish I'd stayed home for as long as I could have coped tbh.

Yakadee · 12/02/2019 21:17

@Fredthespider - congratulations! Xx

Leonora94 · 12/02/2019 21:20

@Fredthespider Congratulations! 💕

clairehr · 12/02/2019 21:26

Well, due date pretty much been and gone, baby still super comfy in there, as sweep today showed I was barely 1cm.

Baby now has 6 days to buck it's ideas up before induction begins due to GD... hurry up baby 😂

lanalawr · 13/02/2019 04:44

Congratulations @Fredthespider !
