j20baby · 09/07/2007 22:35

well don't work too hard alice, its mainly because i'm having to dao a full day instead of 2 half days and i hate where i have been put, plus i only get to keep £20 of it, which i spend most of in petrol and my dinner so its not really worth it.

j20baby · 09/07/2007 22:36

oh yes, night alice, sleep well sendin you nice
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz to help you on your way

j20baby · 09/07/2007 22:37

winnie i think i worked till about 4 weeks before my due date last time too, and that was full time manual labour, don't know how i managed!

WinnieThePooh · 09/07/2007 22:41

I worked full tme as well, but office based. I was a credit controlller for a financew company and sometimes got to go to court. I loved the job. I had started as a temp and got taken oin permanently in the October, only to get my BFP at the end of Novwmber. I finished there in the July

j20baby · 09/07/2007 22:43

i work in an office now and love my usual place but its closed due to the flooding so i have a longer drive, don't know anyone and they don't have a cafe!

WinnieThePooh · 09/07/2007 22:45

I don't drive, so I left the house at 7am to get into DErby for 8.30. I finshed at 5 and got home about 6-6.30pm

j20baby · 09/07/2007 22:50

was that before you had any dc's?

do you remember life before kids? lie ins on a Sunday? watching all your tv programmes without having to go up to them every 5 mins, oh that was the life

i work at mcD's so sometimes didn't finish till 2am

WinnieThePooh · 09/07/2007 22:55

Yes is was before I had DD.

Life before children, What's that?

DP and I used to go out every wednesday night to meet friends and play games at a pub. Now I stay at home and he still goes out. What is a lie in, at the weekens it is still me that gets up with DD, usually about 7.30am. I never know what timw he is going to be home, so I have to ask MIL to come over to look after DD if I want to go out.

j20baby · 09/07/2007 22:58

hmph! men! we'll all have to have a meet up one night when the lo's are a bit older and drink and eat prawns amd everything else we're banned from atm and stay in a hotel overnight and sleep on our fronts and have lie ins...........and wake up the next day with hangovers and vow...never again

j20baby · 09/07/2007 23:00

WinnieThePooh · 09/07/2007 23:01

I have got to go the the post office for DP after taking DD to School. Then is is back home to tackle her playroom. That will probably take me all day, so I will be back on tonight.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 10/07/2007 07:51

morning all!

am starting to get fed up of being pg!lo decided she wanted to aerobics during the night, and i ended up with heartburn.ive had 3 hours sleep, got up and started being sick!

and lo has now decided to go to sleep!typical!!

am off shopping for new things for my new house today!!so got a trip to argos and comet.(and a stop off at muccyD's on the way home!!have a neeeeeed for chicken nuggets!!!)

anyway, havnet read all teh posts since yesterday....saw that j20 told me to atke it easy.....says she who leans over bannisters and lays carpets!!
alice i just felt an idiot for panicking about the pain.its the same as the pain i had when i was having ds2,so i just thought history was repeating itself.when it happened with him it was so scarey.i kept telling them something was wrong but no one would would listen to me,and when they finally got told by a senior doc that i needed a cs,and they took me down,ds's heartbeat slowed and then stopped.it was just sucha horrible experience and i think the memories of it all over took the other day!!

anyway hope everyone else is ok,right am off to get kids and myself ready!!wish argos luck..and my bank card, theyre both gonna get a battering today!!!

MrsFish · 10/07/2007 07:55

Morning everyone

Winnie - I live near Derby, actually going today for a spot of shopping

FloriaTosca · 10/07/2007 08:18

G'd Mornin' all
Glad to hear you had a good weekend Alicet ... wonderful that your sil is on the right road and that your bil is coping so well. at MIL! self centred bat! As to "not loving a Paddy!" well words fail me, how stupid can you get!? Anyway he's your son and it is your decision ..not a lot to do with her!
J20;the cat nip is a great idea and would serve themselves right selfish so and sos! As if you haven't got enough on your plate! Early mat leave sounds a very good idea for you, its not as if you will lose out much financially and DD and lo will benefit, I'd say go for it!I'm going to be working 'till the day I drop...then its 2 paracetamol and back into the paddy fields for me! ....not quite as bad as that but I cant afford to take much time off and lose my clients; at least I work from home and I can rearrange my hours to suit lo and baby sitters.
Right, I'd better get going...taking my Mum to watch a mid-morning string 4tet concert at the Macmillan centre....(they have been so good to her! I cant praise them enough!)I'll pop back in later. Have a good day everyone.

muppetgirl · 10/07/2007 08:25

Hello!
Just spent 10 mins reading all your posts from last night!

J20 -go on early m,aternity leave if you can. Have a rest, you deserve it!

Alice -Really glad your sil/bil and thier lo are doing better. Just shame about the mil......

I had low pain through the night if I moved from side to side wasn't happy as needed to go for a wee every 2 hrs it seemed I moved quite a lot!

We're off to 'Bonkers' today (soft play place) so I can sit nursing a tea and take my crotchet. My friend is on holiday but I thought we'd still go. All the kids of the street were out on their bikes last night which was great (after school) as it wasn't raining but after about an hour it started again so we all had to go back in but it was nice seeing them all playing together age range 13 months-7. Nice to catch up with the goss too....

lisad123 · 10/07/2007 09:44

Morning all, well it looks like i missed all the fun again last night. I went to bed early with a pounding head. however did get loads of sleep although did wake a few times but am feeling very awake this morning

I like the prawns in the curtains tricks, sounds good to me. Sorry your MIL has been so mean, but i like patrick

My materity leaves starts at 36 weeks, this has been inforced by my boss even though i have 5 weeks leave to take too, which will have to tag on at end of Materity leave.

LO is doing party tricks this morning, making me feel sick yuck.

I have appointment and scan tomorrow so will get to talk to consultant about my concerns about LO heart rate, which i think will make me feel better. I have to go alone but am looking forward to seeing my friend. her hubby has asked no one to visit at hospital apart from family until she is home, but hoping she wont mind me popping in for a 10 min visit. She texted this morning to say she;s still not good, i so want to talk to her.

My plans today are to sit and sort out clothes into new drawers for LO, and might wheel myself to PO to send some bits and pieces.

Oh and freecycle has been amazing this week. I posted a wanted for nappies and wrap sling, I have 2 loads of nappies to pick up and an offer of a lend for a wrap sling. I have also got rid of a baby of baby clothes to a lovely lady

Hope your all having good days.

lisa

www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=67&threadid=353544&stamp=070710084350 For phebee

glad freecycle is working out for you ft, i seem to have acquired a stalker through mine, may post a thread on it later.

don't feel too great today, still got a stomach bug and can't keep off the loo, wanted to finish stripping my wallpaper too.

hi to everyone and have a nice day.

oops need toilet again..

nellieloula · 10/07/2007 10:13

morning everyone - can't possibly catch up here - alice, you put me to shame! you're so good at being so thorough with everyone. Thanks for the alcohol tip; extremely reassuring. And so so pleased things are looking a bit brighter for your sil/bil.
hope everyone else is well and not too uncomfortable; DS was up and wide awake at 4.40 this morning, so feeling just a bit shattered! he'll be having a very early night though! have a good day everyone

Apricott · 10/07/2007 11:01

Morning all

Just about managed to keep up with messages since Friday, but no time to reply to all. Glad everyone's aches and pains are no cause for panic. Waves and hellos all round

Alice - am astounded at your mil's comment. People can be so insensitive it's just not true. My mother made some almost as bad comments when we told her about this little one without seeming to realise that it was really upsetting for us. She seems to be warming to the idea now. Slowly.

We booked a holiday yesterday - a week in Italy mid-august. We've got a lovely looking apartment in the centre of Lucca, which I'm told is beautiful and slightly cooler than most of Italy because it's high up. Not sure I believe that, but we'll see. A small over-cautious part of me thinks I'm mad to go - I'll be 30-31 weeks by then. But mostly I'm looking forward to it.

On maternity leave, I'm planning to work as late as I possibly can so that I get more time with the baby once s/he's born. I'm office based over the summer - the dashing about teaching doesn't start til mid October - so I reckon I'll manage ok. Am envious of you guys starting earlier though - I just don't think we can afford it.

I'd better do some work I guess [reluctant, dragging feet emoticon]

Later x

Mumpbump · 10/07/2007 11:04

Morning all! Have been signed off work ill for the whole week with a viral thing! Have spent the last few days in bed mostly, asleep. The doctor put the fear of god in me by basically saying that if I didn't rest, I might jeopardise the baby and that losing a baby in the second/third trimester was a lot worse than losing one in the first trimester which I have no doubt about. So am actually following her orders and resting. Well, almost - am managing to catch up on odd bits of housework and am planning on baking my sister's wedding cake today! But I get completely whacked out if I do very much and end up back in bed again...

J2O - lesson to be learnt here, young lady!!

Am planning on getting some wool and starting to knit a blanket for bubba which was a really good way of keeping myself busy whilst physically at rest in the last pg. Can't stand daytime tv unfortunately...

Anyway, will check up on what is going on intermittently, but unlikely to be around much for this week...

Take care everyone and, all you busy ladies, don't overdo it!!!
