That's amazing news @Laburna - so happy for you!!

ohmybaby · 03/01/2019 07:54

Ahhh congrats everyone and wow so many gender predictions/test results!! I’m stumped, hoping the next few weeks will give me some clues...

Squ1ggle · 03/01/2019 07:55

Ah that's brilliant news @Laburna

ReginaPhalange89 · 03/01/2019 08:29

Oh wow how are people finding out the sex already and I've not even bad my 12 week scan! Lol. Congrats @Laburna, lovely news x

HchyScott · 03/01/2019 08:36

@laburna congratulations! How many weeks are you? We’ve decided to find out but have got another 6 weeks till 20 weeks scan! Did the nub theory test after reading on google and I reckon we are having a boy too even though I felt certain it was a girl!

BirthdayKake · 03/01/2019 08:38

@Laburna I've been thinking of you. SO glad it's good news! Congratulations ❤️

Regina you can have the harmony test if you've got a spare few hundred 😂 I actually was tempted earlier in the pregnancy, but I was too poorly to do anything about it in the end!

BirthdayKake · 03/01/2019 08:39

@HchyScott I don't think there's a visible nub on my scan pic so I'm still clueless!

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 03/01/2019 08:59

@Laburna that's brilliant news, congratulations!

HchyScott · 03/01/2019 09:03

@Birthdaykake I think there’s a nub on mine but it’s such a crap picture it could be anything 😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 03/01/2019 09:07

I knew 100% from the nub on my last babies scan that it was a girl , I was right ! Hoping I'll get a clear shot this time !

Trying2bemum · 03/01/2019 09:13

Lovely news @Laburna

Is that our first gender reveal on the group?

Is anyone else struggling to sleep? I drift off okay but wake up and then am awake for hours every night. I'm so tired I feel like a zombie.

Trying2bemum · 03/01/2019 09:17

Has anyone got a baby on board badge yet?

StargazyDrifter · 03/01/2019 09:35

That's brilliant news, Laburna. I'd been wondering how you are getting on. So good to finally have the answer. My NIPT is next week.

On the Baby Show, it looks really useful. I'm in two minds in case I get completely overwhelmed though. I'm literally starting from zero. Have a John Lewis nursery appointment, which might be a gentler introduction! Are the discounts at the Baby Show worth it?

I got my Baby on Board badge at about 8 weeks. Doesn't always work in rush hour, people sometimes clock it and then willful my look away! But now I've had my 12 week scan I feel like I can wear it more often and not worry whether colleagues see it on the tube etc. I really liked the letter from TfL, it was the first formal acnowledgement from anywhere that I am pregnant!

Laburna · 03/01/2019 09:55

I'm 14+5 now, the Harmony test did cost nearly £500 but with our history of miscarriage I didn't want a CVS or Amniocentesis because of the risks. You don't have to find out the gender, they can hide that, but we were going to anyway, so we went for it! Not got my 20week scan until the start of February.

@Trying2bemum I'm having awful sleep as well. I'm falling asleep really early and then I'll be awake from 2/3am. We get up at half 5 to sort the dog etc, so by the time I manage to get back to sleep it's 4:30/5 and I feel like death when the alarm goes off. I need my two cups of tea just to function!

@stargazydrifter the Baby Show is good for bargains, you often get good deals and money off, but worth having an idea in mind of what you want, even if it's not specifics as it can be massively overwhelming and you get bombarded with people trying to tell you, you need this miracle baby thing.

It's also worth noting that places like John Lewis and Mama's and Papas have lay-away type schemes, where you can order the things you want and then pay them off over the time between ordering and collection. They'll get them in for you about a month before baby is due so you don't have them taking up loads of space in the house. And Mama's and Papas at least are amazing when you find out baby is coming before your collection date and you only have a few days notice! We phoned in a panic as they had our car seat, pram and crib! They got it in next day for our in-laws to pick up for us.

wombatron · 03/01/2019 09:56

I don't have my BOB badge yet, I don't really think it's going to work on our train.... it's ridiculously overcrowded on the best days so I can't see people moving for me. I may ask if I can change my hours slightly to do 8-5 as the earlier trains are less crowded.

TheScaredyKat · 03/01/2019 10:11

Congratulations @Laburna how exciting!

@Trying2bemum I'm also not sleeping, I drop off immediately as exhausted but only sleep for 2-3 hours and then wide awake. It's really getting to me. I've just ordered a fancy new pillow and one of the smaller pregnancy pillows for between knees. Don't think the huge ones will work for us unless I kick DH out of bed. Finding it difficult to get comfy on my side aswell, hoping the pillow will help.

wombatron · 03/01/2019 10:50

I can't feel it moving, but I'm certain I can feel it all moving up. Like it was all quite low down, now it feels like it's fizzing up. Fizzing - lightly carbonated rather than full on mentos in coke fizzing, is the exact way I would describe it. Is that what I'm feeling??

StargazyDrifter · 03/01/2019 12:16

Thanks very much, Laburna. Really helpful on the Baby Show. I might do John Lewis end of Feb then the show early March then so I'm a bit more clued up. Just suggested this to DH, mentioning also that it has a buggy track. His response: "is go-karting safe for pregnant women?!" 😂 It's going to be a bit of a learning curve for him!

Squ1ggle · 03/01/2019 12:25

@Trying2BMum I'm exactly the same, I either fall asleep straight away but wake at about 1am ish or I just lie awake until about 2am when I'll nod off. I'm barely functioning at the moment I'm so tired.

cravingmilkshake · 03/01/2019 12:25

Hi all, just had my booking in appointment. So pleased I booked my 11 week early scan yesterday as I still don't have a scan date and she said it could be in the next two weeks. Still have had no bloods either, apparently I have those when I go up for the scan. So overwhelming and so much to take in.

Yukka · 03/01/2019 12:34

Hi Ladies, I'm a bit of a later joiner to the July thread, I stayed on my TTC after MC thread but as this one seems to be going good I'm taking a leap of faith to join you :)

Just had my third scan today and i'm measuring 11 weeks against a gestational of 10w4, great news, massive relief. Saw a head, body, heartbeat, arm and a hand. Hoping the rest is in there somewhere :) The EPU scan equipment is a bit rubbish and they were short staffed so I was in and out in 5 mins.

Its a high risk pregnancy due to recurrent MC and APS diagnosis (oh and i'm 40 next month, but, mheh). Is anyone else in a similar boat? I'm on Aspirin and inject with Heparin every day. I'll be consultant led through the pregnancy, meeting him in two weeks for official 12w scan and I presume lots of other discussions as they've said it will be a 2 hour appointment.

Congratulations to all of you! I need to buy something, like just one small thing that makes this baby real. I'll try and hold off another couple of weeks. . .

TwinkleDay · 03/01/2019 13:02

Congratulations @Laburna when is your due date now?

Must be quite close to me... what a lovely start to the new year a lovely little boy for you 🥰

Yukka · 03/01/2019 13:18

@cravingmilkshake sorry they hadn't booked a scan for you yet they can leave you feeling in limbo at times. I was told though that medically you need to be scanned and screened by 13w 6days, but that still a long time to wait for a scan to be reassured that everything is going ok. Hope the 11w scan goes ok!

1sttimeunicorn · 03/01/2019 13:22

sorry, can I re-join? I was on the earlier threads, had a little break from it all as my anxiety was ramping up massively (history of miscarriage prior to DS being born, he's 20 months now). anyway pleased to say I'm still ticking along, expecting a little girl on the 10th of July (harmony test revealed gender, I had the test due to mc history). allowing myself to be a bit excited, still apprehensive tho. hope everyone is well x

Michelle0507 · 03/01/2019 16:26

Welcome to the new ladies.

Found out one of my colleague died Christmas Eve, she'd been in a car accident 10 days before. Stunned and heart broken you've no idea how short life can be - treasure every moment. Sorry to sound so doom and gloom!
