I had this problem in my last pregnancy! Annoying. Luckily this time they could do what they needed to do and neck measurements looked ok, touch wood x

mrsof20118 · 02/01/2019 16:51

Congrats on the scans!

Jxtina86 · 02/01/2019 17:09

@BirthdayKake yes they didn't seem concerned by the NT measurement and just wanted the bloods to cross check it seemed. Touch wood! Sonographer kept saying 'structurally baby is fine' Like we were talking about a building - know what he meant but made me chuckle!

HchyScott · 02/01/2019 17:19

@StargazyDrifter it’s on my face too, it’s so sore and uncomfortable let alone being unsightly, I feel gross 😞. I’ve brought a garnier blemish solutions moisturiser but have no idea if it’s safe or not, what can’t we have on our skin? Thank you, I really want it made bigger!

cravingmilkshake · 02/01/2019 17:26

Hi there, just had my scan (to check if my bleed has settled down, which it has)

I had a very bouncy baby- wouldn't stop moving. Measured ahead again at 11weeks exactly. So EDD July 24th. So very happy and so reassured now.

I know it's super early but I really think I'm having a boy. Placenta is on the right hand side.

I'm so happy I could cry. Xx

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/01/2019 17:30

Just catching up on today's comments !
Congrats on the scans , such lovely news and great photos !

My cravings seem to have started, 2 days in a row now I've sat with a bowl of pickled gherkins and cheese .... I do usually like them together but not a bowl of them haha !
Also cannot seem to suck my stomach on today and feel like I actually so look pregnant!

TwinkleDay · 02/01/2019 17:31

@BirthdayKake congratulations the scan looks really good.

We are going to get a flip x2 in chestnut at the weekend at mamas and papas second appointment..

Squ1ggle · 02/01/2019 17:35

Ah lovely scan photos today Smile

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 17:45

@Jxtina86

Structurally 😂 that's amazing!

Our baby was upside down at first so we weren't going to get any decent pictures. Then the sonographer said "Well... You could just turn the picture the other way?"

So true!! Haha

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 17:47

Aww congrats cravingmilkshake! I think mine looks like a boy but I still reckon it's a girl! I doubt we're going to tell people the sex anyway

blueeyedviking · 02/01/2019 17:49

I'm so happy about all your great scans Smile

Thank you for all your well wishes about my FIL. We are taking one day at the time, but it does help to have the baby to look forward to.

@HchyScott , @StargazyDrifter I have had similar spots throughout and never get bad skin... I haven't figured out a remedy either, however I did change face cream to a thicker one and that did help a bit.

StargazyDrifter · 02/01/2019 18:13

How lovely to see the precious scans photos and hear everyone's good news.

HchyScott it's benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid that are supposed to be used with caution in pregnancy. Basically there's not enough research into whether they are safe or not, so people tend to avoid them just in case. This particularly applies to masks and creams, which stay on longer, if it's just face wash most online sources say it doesn't matter because the skin contact is so minimal.

I also feel horrid and covering it all up in make up doesn't do it any good, but I still do it.

Oddly, I do have fairly chronic stress eczema on my neck, which was completely gone away since I got pregnant.

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/01/2019 19:03

Has anyone thought of any nice ways to announce on social media (if you plan to). We will put something on Facebook probably. Shame its not timed nicely with Christmas or Valentine's day or something !

cravingmilkshake · 02/01/2019 19:08

@BirthdayKake is there one sex I. Particular you Are hoping for? I really want a boy.

cravingmilkshake · 02/01/2019 19:09

@ReginaPhalange89 I like the idea of those small message announcement boards and a pic of the scan and perhaps a pair of shoes next to it announcing the due month.

My husband though is adamant he doesn't want it posted on social media which I am so gutted about!

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 19:15

Regina DH did a "Happy New Year from our new addition" type thing with the scan picture.

cravingmilkshake is it your first? I REALLY wanted a boy first and luckily I had one. As for this one... I don't really have a preference tbh! Although ALL the DC said they want a brother Confused apparently we "have enough girls". I'm hoping to book a private scan and find out at the beginning of Feb!

TwinkleDay · 02/01/2019 19:23

Haha well sis in law has 5 bridesmaids and the page boy at the moment will be 8 next year and is hyper active so when we told her I said (after she asked me to be a bridesmaid) would you like a page boy or flower girl and then just an explosion of emotion happened bless her.. come on little page boy ... just been food shopping and they were having a full on wiggle... this best not be the start of supermarket ''mummy can I have this and then a meltdown' lol

thedust · 02/01/2019 19:31

We have 2 nephews on husband's side and 2 niece's on my side - eldest niece wants a boy because her little sister is very annoying haha. And eldest nephew wants a girl (maybe for similar reasons). Someone's gonna be happy, someone's gonna be disappointed.

Told my manager today, all starting to feel more real. I've had terrible shooting pains in my hip and bum too, it seems to get worse in the evenings. Might give the midwife a ring tomorrow just to ask about it, worried it could be pelvic girdle pain.

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/01/2019 19:58

I've got 2 girls of my own and 3 nieces, no boys in our family yet ! So everyone is hoping this will be the first boy.... No pressure eh 🙈 bet it's another girl lol

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 20:17

Regina yep that's how I feel after having three girls in a row although I've swapped penises now

ohmybaby · 02/01/2019 21:29

Evening all! Another scan photo 🤗 confirmed I’m just over 13 weeks, EDD 9th July. So happy! Looking forward to showing soon (this is my first), seeming to bloat with a “bump” then it disappears when I pee/first thing in the morning! I’ve put on a kilo so far, feels like 10 but might just be Christmas haha 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ringing in the New Year & 2nd trimester - July 2019!
Michelle0507 · 02/01/2019 21:57

So many of us due on the 9th July! :D

Jxtina86 · 02/01/2019 22:37

@ohmybaby congrats on the scan and snap on due date!

cravingmilkshake · 02/01/2019 22:39

Is anyone planning on going to the baby show? I might head to excel on the Saturday if anyone would like to meet?

@BirthdayKake yes, my first, I would love a boy but I honestly wouldn't mind, although I have got so excited and persuaded myself that it's a boy!

X
