Oh wow @twistering how amazing! That's crazy how much detail you can see so early on .

GiGi18 · 14/01/2019 20:59

Lovely scans! Good luck to those of you still to have scans this week too. @Chinks123 my heart goes out to you and I really hope you can get DP to see that he needs to see someone to talk to. I think it sounds like fear manifesting itself in this way which sucks for you. Enjoy your scan tomorrow.

I am going back for my second scan tomorrow at 13+5 since they couldn't get the measurements they needed last week. Feeling a bit nervous it's going to be too late to get them but we will see tomorrow. I have a can of Coke chilling ready to drink 10 mins before to wake baby up!

Yesterday I had the amazing experience of being my sister's birth partner and watched her baby boy come into the world. It really was the most amazing experience. Made it all feel more real that it's me next. Can't get enough baby cuddles now, so excited! I thought I was going to be squeamish but I was totally fine and even cut the cord. She was so calm, hope I can be like that 🤪

cravingmilkshake · 15/01/2019 06:09

Baby names query-

I have an ex friend who I haven't spoken to since January last year (she was pregnant when we fell out), didn't come to my wedding etc and I haven't spoken to her since jan. She has had her baby in this time and I've just found out she called him Arthur. Arthur is the name my husband desperately wants (if we have a boy) do you think it's unreasonable to call him it?

As I said, we don't speak and never will, I live 60 miles away.

BirthdayKake · 15/01/2019 06:20

@RooKangaroo I feel EXACTLY the same. I can't spend time with my children, struggle to eat, can't do housework. In fact I'm a SAHM and I've employed a bloody cleaner!! I really broke down at the weekend over this sickness shit. Seeing my dead cat covered in blood hasn't helped either. I swear I'm having my bits sewn up after this. Hope you're ok xx

BirthdayKake · 15/01/2019 06:21

@cravingmilkshake if it won't remind you of her and annoy you, then use it xx

Giraffe888 · 15/01/2019 08:08

12wks today and I feel so sick. I’ll be glad when this goes! Didn’t sleep again last night and my IBS has been bad last 2 days, it’s definiteky because I’m anxious about scan x

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/01/2019 09:28

@cravingmilkshake I'd say it's fine to use if you're not in touch anymore . Unless the name reminds you of her !

Can anyone recommend some black, skinny , over the bump maternity jeans or jeggings ? I ordered some New Look ones from asos, I kept them and now regretting it ! They're so baggy , even around the legs so don't even think I'll grow into them 🙈 I'm desperately needing some as my normal black jeans don't fit any more

Toria73 · 15/01/2019 10:12

@Regina, I find the H&M super skinny ones work best for me.
To all those with rubbish partners right now, I’m sort that this is happening. There isn’t much I can say that fixes anything but I would advise being a little bit self-centred/selfish right now; you have to look after you & the wee ones. The rest will sort itself out one way or another. 💕

Toria73 · 15/01/2019 10:14

** sorry that this... 😊

Yukka · 15/01/2019 11:47

@Regina i bought some stretchy skinny jeggings from Next but bought 2 sizes up. They're high waisted so dead comfy. They were a little loose at the very top to start with but not anymore.

I've probably got another 3 weeks max in them, then I'll have to move to maternity stuff. they were about £25/£30 not too bad but I've been wearing them since a week before christmas. I also thought with clothes like that, they'll be good for when I'm on the way down the scales post birth. Here's hoping!

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/01/2019 12:21

I've got £50 vouchers for New Look that I got for xmas and literally can't see anything in the maternity section I like 🙈 annoying ! I might look for Black ones on eBay, I don't mind buying second hand this time since it's my last time !

Capybaras · 15/01/2019 12:28

@ReginaPhalange89 I've got the Joni over and under the bump jeans from topshop and found them great - could be worth a try?
Didn't realise new look has mat clothes so will take a look!

Kentishgal · 15/01/2019 12:49

I got some very very dark blue (I thought they were black) jeans/jeggings (over the bump) from seraphine that I'd recommend.

AIDE2424 · 15/01/2019 12:55

I feel the same regarding sickness and feel like work aren’t understanding at all, so exhausted not sure I can keep up with 16 hour shifts!

I haven’t had to get maternity clothes yet, still wearing my high waisted jeans I’ve always worn, just want my bump now! I’ve lost weight though a stone due to sickness 😩 got my scan in the morning feeling ever nervous and scared but had my last scan at 10+1 and everything was fine so given me a little reassurance!
Hope your all well ❤️

Capybaras · 15/01/2019 14:07

I really hope the sickness goes for you soon! I haven't had any lessening in my symptoms and 15weeks now. Think it just depends individually!

Is anyone else finding time is going so much quicker now that they've had their scans, you're not hiding pregnancy etc?

Chinks123 · 15/01/2019 14:19

Just had my scan, very happy to say I have a healthy little baby, dated at 11+4 so I’ve just nudged into an August due date- I’ll be staying on this thread though if that’s okay Grin my best friend came with me and it was so lovely. I’ve bought a scan pic and if dp chooses to see it when he comes home that’s his choice. I’m happy and very excited.

We still haven’t announced pregnancy and I’ll be holding off for a while until we get it sorted, I just don’t think it will be a happy announcement at the minute.

In regards to sickness, touch wood, I haven’t been sick once yet and wasn’t in my last pregnancy so I think I’ve dropped so lucky! No symptoms at all but goes to show it can still be fine. Feel for everyone suffering from sickness, it will all be worth it. Flowers

StargazyDrifter · 15/01/2019 14:30

Chinks123 that's wonderful news! How exciting. Glad your friend went with you, too.

On sickness, consultant said to me today that hCG drops off a lot by 16 weeks and progesterone takes over. Most women feel better after that, though some remain sicky still and they don't know why. But 16 weeks seems a good milestone to cling to for now! I'm only sick once a day these days and the nausea is far better than it was.

StargazyDrifter · 15/01/2019 14:32

Kentishgal my NIPT results came back last night, a week early (they said allow 14 days). I was 1:800 on the NHS, which I think is the same as you? The NIPT results were all < 1:10,000 risk so was very much worth it in my case.

Giraffe888 · 15/01/2019 14:51

@chinks123 great news on your scan! X

BirthdayKake · 15/01/2019 14:56

@StargazyDrifter definitely clinging to 16 week milestone! I always feel worse after a nap but I just can't keep my eyes open in the afternoons. Threw up this morning and managed to lose my wedding pearl earrings down the plug hole FFS :(.

Fab news Chinks!

StargazyDrifter · 15/01/2019 15:06

Ow BirthdayKake, commiserations. I've lost so many things down the sink! DH is refusing to take it apart again if it happens!

Kentishgal · 15/01/2019 15:12

Stargazydrifter that's fantastic news - v pleased for you! Hope that's given you some reassurance. Do you mind me asking how old you are? Yes mine was 1/710 so hopefully I'll have similar figures. I'm v nervous and just anticipating bad news. Did you find out the sex?

BirthdayKake · 15/01/2019 16:14

@StargazyDrifter 😂 I definitely wasn't meant to be a plumber so I'll be leaving the sink alone. I would just buy more but I'M TOO FRIGGING ILL! Aaagghhh

Yukka · 15/01/2019 16:17

Oh really happy for you @chinks I do hope this with dp gets sorted soon xx

CalmerComber · 15/01/2019 16:40

Oops I posted on the wrong thread.

Room for another? I was on the August thread with a 5/8 due date but found out this morning that it’s twins! TWO BABIES. So they will be delivered early/mid July if all goes well!

Absolutely bricking it. This will be DC 2&3 and DD is 21 months (Apr ‘17).

Suffering with awful hyperemesis and volcanic spots.
