@Lulabell1

I found my second labour much easier..

Labour one - 58 hours, around 1.5 hours of pushing, small tear frontally, two weeks overdue.

Labour two - 27 hours, three quick pushes and he was out, no tears, 12 days overdue.

Hoping this third one follows trend, and is quick and simple! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/12/2018 19:35

Argh so I think someone on here said rare steak is ok, I had medium rare steak at my Christmas meal just now, it was rarer than I like to be honest. Feeling a bit paranoid as I feel a bit sick so went in the nhs website and it's saying no rare meat?! What's the consensus?

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 14/12/2018 20:12

I’ve eaten rare steak and will continue to do so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lulabell1 · 14/12/2018 20:26

@lookingforadvice123 Im sure someone said that its more for yourself than harming baby x

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/12/2018 20:34

Ugh well I was just really sick so saw the steak again Sad vile. I can't handle rich 3 course meals in restaurants these days!

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 14/12/2018 20:39

Really hoping we fit the trend of 2nd baby coming quicker.

Since2016 · 14/12/2018 20:48

Ladies. Has ANYONE found a decent Christmassy / dressy maternity top that isn’t a tent / hideous? My bump is HUGE but the rest of me isn’t so anything that’s too ‘tent’ like looks utterly ridiculous and the only thing I’ve found that looks like it part way fits the bill is a sequin top on Asos but it looks like it won’t be flattering. Fed up of the same tops and work dresses... oh and I’m not going into shops so online it must be! Suggestions welcome!

AutumnLee12 · 14/12/2018 20:56

Anyone experienced period like cramps front and lower back? I don't know whether to be concerned or if this is just normal and I haven't experienced it yet?
I can feel him moving around which I guess is a good sign?

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 14/12/2018 20:58

The risk with rare meat isn’t contamination, it’s toxoplasmosis. Not a serious risk for an adult but could cause miscarriage/still birth.

The risk is tiny though, and many more things could cause the same outcome, things we do without even knowing.

Look up the stats on who is GBS+ then look up the risks of that. Yet it’s not an NHS test, nor do people pay the relatively small amount for a private test 🤷🏻‍♀️

Surprisedmom · 14/12/2018 22:48

@Since2016 I ordered this top (in maroon not black) from boohoo’s eBay store:
rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F362498082642
It arrived today and i’m pretty happy with it as a Christmassy top that wasn’t very expensive and that because it has a sash is not a complete tent.

Surprisedmom · 14/12/2018 22:49

Not sure if that link works so here’s a screenshot

@AutumnLee12 if they become painful call midwife! Better too be safe and theres no harm.
I am only asking about second labours because i mentioned both my friends were induced yesterday and they have both now finally had their babies i no every labour is different but i hear such horror stories about being induced and its looking very much like they will be with me because of little mans size! Long story short they they both have had terrible time after being induced but its their first babies so im hoping ill have a bit of a upper hand as my body has done it before but my god am i really bloody scared now!

twiglet · 15/12/2018 01:44

Ladies on iron tables what do you use to counteract the common side effect? Been put on them and now feel blocked! Blush
Was also told I have a suspected uti which it's hard to tell if symptoms are pregnancy or uti. Not a great day Confused

@Since2016 I've found jojomamanbebe stuff to be good for dresses not the cheapest but there is usually a discount code. Try NCTM82 should give 20% off. I've got 2 dresses from them which I can wear for work but also make more going out.

Yakadee · 15/12/2018 05:06

So much for a good nights sleep! My boy has been sick - lovely 4am wake up call. Also, had planned to go out for the first time in ages tonight - typical!

@Lulabell1 - I was induced first time and I'm having a planned section this time. Obviously my experience was not great but my mum was induced with me and both my sisters and she said it was fine (obviously the usual labour pain etc) x

Since2016 · 15/12/2018 05:41

Thanks both - will take a look.

Just bored of my clothes! (I miss my ‘proper’ wardrobe).

@yakadee yep! I now have a poorly DD in bed with me and a drunk /hungover husband. She’s been ill since last Friday... hideous week and now I’ve got it 😷

Yakadee · 15/12/2018 05:46

@Since2016 - oh no, you too? This time of year sucks! To be fair, last time he was sick / had sickness was Nov last year so haven't done bad really. Plus, it's freezing today (and forecast some snow) so we probably weren't going anywhere today anyway.

Really glad it was this morning and not yesterday as we went on a santa experience at Piglet farm (it was brilliant) and would have been gutted to have missed it!

Hope you're all feeling better soon (and that I don't get this 🤢) xx

Since2016 · 15/12/2018 05:52

@yakadee snap! Although she was ill again just before we went away in Nov this is the first time she’s been properly struck down in almost a year - an incredible change from what was literally every other week since 10
Months. But I am feeling rough and all our wkend plans were cancelled last week (except our grotto trip on the Friday as she became ill on the pm) so was hoping she’d be on the mend by now!

It’s an awful chesty hacking cough. I’m now sat half propped up with her as she wanted to lie on me... DH asleep. Obviously 🙄

Yakadee · 15/12/2018 05:57

@Since2016 - obviously! How do they do it?? I was trying to talk DH to sleeping with my son in his bed as I didn't want him to be sick in ours if I could help it and he managed to talk me into him sleeping (well, laying down and watching pingu) in our bed - he was sick 🤦‍♀️

He's already told me he'll need a nap this afternoon! Lol.

I just keeping telling myself it'll be out of the way for Christmas 🤞
Hopefully you're all on the mend soon xx

Since2016 · 15/12/2018 06:33

@yakadee ugh that sounds awful! We’re meant to be going to a big Christmas lunch / party this daft. I’m half inclined to tell DH to take DD on his own if she’s better once she wakes up!

Since2016 · 15/12/2018 06:34

But yes hoping this is the lurgy done now until 2019!!!

Yakadee · 15/12/2018 06:43

@Since2016 - sounds like you could do with the break! X

lanalawr · 15/12/2018 08:41

@Lulabell1 not first hand experience but my friend was induced with her second and managed ok. Even though her second was 3lb smaller than her first she said it was more painful (likely due to the induction) but it wasn't a massively long labour and she got by on gas and air (can't remember if she had pethidine but definitely no epidural). Like you said, it's different for everyone though.

costacoffeecup · 15/12/2018 08:53

@Lookingforadvice123 I've had rare steak a few times, it's toxoplasmosis that's the risk but it's pretty rare (and actually I was reading it's really unlikely from steak as it's on the outside and that's the bit that's seared anyway.) Anyway I have two cats so likely I've had it way before I was ever pregnant if I was going to get it.

Clothes wise, next outlet was doing quite a lot really cheap, refuse to buy full price at this stage! Got a black flowerywrap dress for about £8 which I'm going to wear out tonight even though I look like an absolute whale in anything.

powkin · 15/12/2018 09:11

Had a horrible dream where I was having lots of heavy bleeding last night :(

Yakadee · 15/12/2018 09:21

@powkin - that's awful 😩 I've had some awful dreams too lately xx
