Ive just been to see midwife i now have to go every week on a thursday because of loosing my plug and having thin cervix! Wouldnt mind but thursday is my busiest day of the week but its the only day shes in! X

babyp160 · 12/12/2018 15:26

@Lulabell1 I feel for you. It's obviously to help the baby and you but my midwife only does Wednesdays 2-6 at mine and she does them in order so if no one else booked it has to be 2pm when ideally it would be 5pm so
I can just leave work a little earlier 🙄

Since2016 · 12/12/2018 16:20

@emalady I was only expressing once I was in hospital so used their pump and they provided me with sterilised bottles for storing and syringes. I used to bring the syringes down to NICU and then took home the leftover milk and froze it x

Camsie30 · 12/12/2018 16:51

@lanalawr my daughter has a few of the early learning centre baby dolls and loves them, they have soft bodies and hard had and limbs. Very sweet

lanalawr · 12/12/2018 17:25

@Camsie30 I've seen those online - they look good. Do the boys have willies though? I'm also expecting her to want to bath the doll but the one she's currently got is soft bodied and cries so can't go in water.

hayley013 · 12/12/2018 22:01

Does anyone else feel like utter crap once it gets to evening time? My bump gets to feel so uncomfortable and hard. I feel sick as my stomach is being squashed...then once I'm in bed I just ache all across my back and between my legs, maybe I just came along for a rant haha

twiglet · 12/12/2018 22:54

@hayley013 yes usually around 9pm. My bump is extremely hard and big by that time.

I have a midwife appointment tomorrow I think I might get sent for a growth scan.... My bump is feeling huge and only just 32 weeks.....

Camsie30 · 12/12/2018 22:54

@lanalawr no they don't have anything, just a soft body... And my daughter's are always makes so they're all gender neutral!!

Celebelly · 12/12/2018 22:58

Pretty sure my bump is going to measure huge at 32 week app next week so won't be surprised if I have to have another growth scan. I feel massive and waddly.

Since2016 · 12/12/2018 23:04

Measuring on the 90th+ centile today 😂 hello big baby. Cons appt next week. Feeling well though - so much better at this point than with DD although she’s ill so we’ve had NO sleep for almost a week 😴

emalady · 13/12/2018 08:25

I will make sure that I have some pots then. I figured if I leak I can syringe it up but won't try and express yet. Will probably try even if there is nothing at 37/38 weeks as I'm keen not to have to be pregnant too much longer. I've been off work this week on leave and not looking forward to going back for a few weeks.

detachablehoof · 13/12/2018 09:31

SPD ladies, what are you doing to help the pain? I think I'm getting it.... started off just feeling like I'd been kicked in my privates, but over the weekend I could feel the bones in my pelvis grinding on each other 😣 and after a day of being on my feet yesterday I can barely walk today.

twiglet · 13/12/2018 09:53

Xmas Smile finally got some good news on the work front work big boss has stepped in and said I'm to receive no new case work after next week!

There is still no info on my maternity cover but it massively reduces my panic and means I can get on top of the workload. Xmas Smile

My mum also gave me my Xmas present early so I've booked a pregnancy massage for end of next week so I can start off the holidays completely relaxed Xmas Grin

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 13/12/2018 10:00

@twiglet That's great!

Just had my meeting with my boss and he's created a lovely calendar with all my maternity pay dates on making it clear what I get and when and that my cover will only be in a few days a month and that I can still come in and see what's been going on!

Celebelly · 13/12/2018 10:20

Ooh enjoy @twiglet! I loved mine so much I'm contemplating another for January! Great news about work too - what a relief. I'm just composing my out of office email for mat leave now Grin

AliceRR · 13/12/2018 11:08

@detachablehoof I have had it from about 14 weeks! I should have seen physio by now but haven’t. Maybe do that if you can.

What I fine helps me is not being on my feet too much, not walking long distances and no running (eg running for train or rushing around!). I really do feel a difference on those days where I’ve been on my feet a lot the day before.

A pillow between your legs might help too.

AliceRR · 13/12/2018 11:09

On another note my heatburn seems to be ramping up! Any tips? I tried gaviscon (cheap prescription version anyway) once and it made me retch. Gaviscon tablets and rennie are ok...

detachablehoof · 13/12/2018 12:49

@alicerr 14 weeks!!! That sounds rough

It's definitely worse when I've been doing something strenuous - but I'm really struggling to slow down - got too much to do before Feb!

twiglet · 13/12/2018 13:12

@detachablehoof I have a support belt from the physio for when walking I think you can buy them as well. I also make sure that I get into a cold bed bad nights I take paracetamol.

My measurements are at the top of the line but as I have a scan anyway in 2 weeks midwife said just ask them to take your measurements again.

babyp160 · 13/12/2018 15:48

Heartburn's terrible here but I got a large gaviscon. I mean huge! From Superdrug for £8 and it seems ok.

Lulabell1 · 13/12/2018 19:03

Heartburn is bad too but when i had that chest infection they prescribed me a massive bottle of gaviscon so i just neck that back and it goes instantly!

Sscond growth scan today and bump measured i feel like i live in the doctors/hospital now but bump measuring 33weeks at 31+2 and baby measuring 5.4lb god help me!!!!!

babyp160 · 13/12/2018 19:09

@Lulabell1 I feel like we are the same person lol. I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead too.

My ribs are KILLING today!!!

emalady · 13/12/2018 20:02

@detachablehoof I second the support belt DH is a physio and suggested one like this: ®BeFit24 Premium 2-in-1 Pregnancy Abdomen Support Belt & Postpartum Pelvic Brace - Belly Bump Band - [ Size 2 - Beige ] www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XWXBRNP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cOReCb245TQY7?tag=mumsnetforum-21
With velcro straps either side you can pull tight, really helps with walking and standing but uncomfortable to sit down in for long. Not much else to do other than delivering the baby!!

Yakadee · 13/12/2018 20:02

@Lulabell1 - mine was 4.8lbs last week (31+5) so feel your pain. My scan was because I measured the same at my last (3 weeks earlier) and thought she hadn't grown!!! X

hayley013 · 13/12/2018 20:09

Had a growth scan and baby is on 90th centile, saw consultant who wants to do another GDD test if she's still showing big in 2 weeks.

Heartburn is horrific, consultant gave me a prescription for ranitidine, took 1 this afternoon and it's made no difference but not sure if it's something that builds up in your system over time? She also advised to eat vanilla ice cream at night to coat my stomach, no argument with that haha
