So I saw the midwife yesterday who basicly told me to take a bag with me my next growth scan in 2 weeks. As she is fairly convinced they will make me stay and induce me then.

The nerves and panic have well and truely kicked in.

See my OB next week as well so going to see what they say.

They now think my HG is causing a strain on my heart. So sending me for a heart scan and monitoring. Did I imagine someone on here saying they had it? See cardiologist next week too for more tests.

Just one thing after the other.... so thankful for wonderful antinatal team who are being so through. But feeling like hospital is my 2nd home somewhat.

Yakadee · 29/12/2018 16:43

@Notquiteagandt - wow, how scary. At least you're being well looked after xx

powkin · 29/12/2018 17:12

@Notquiteagandt good luck with it all. Sounds scary, you’ve been through the mill.

Husband is currently on the way home in an Uber with our eBay changing table, we are picking up our eBay car seat on Monday and I’m on the way home from a mammoth trip to Aldi/Boots for baby essentials! Really trying to kick up preparations a gear!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 29/12/2018 17:17

I just needed to get the Xmas chaos out of the way, so that I could start baby prep..

I think I have most of what I need, just need the odds and sods.. ie travel toiletries, lip balm etc. and to wash the baby clothes, and make sure it’s all packed and ready to go!

It’s my youngest sons birthday at the end of January, so I need to be ready for that, and it’s my eldests in early March.. so I need to get prepped for that too. Expensive time of year!! 😩😩

bubblybrit · 29/12/2018 17:19

@powkin. I’m also just home from a trip to Boots and Next for a variety of baby clothes and accessories. Still need to buy a few things for my own hospital bag but feeling a little more organised now!

bubblybrit · 29/12/2018 17:21

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking. I’m glad I’m not the only one washing baby clothing. Put a load on this morning and my MIL couldn’t understand why I was bothering washing everything Confused!

Yakadee · 29/12/2018 18:06

@bubblybrit - I'm a washer too - her wardrobe is full already!! X

bubblybrit · 29/12/2018 18:22

@Yakadee. I’ve made a start but not quite as far ahead as you. Bought a few things today so will wash that tomorrow and then I can start putting it in her wardrobe. Might be a silly question but do sleepsuits need ironed as yet....mine seem to be drying ok without many creases so not sure what the done thing is? X

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/12/2018 18:25

Yes I second no way of knowing whether a baby will be early/on time or not - people think all sorts eg if you're bigger you'll go early, or low etc. The hormone(s) that start labour have nothing to do with any of it!

DS was a week early (I had one sweep) but I'm not going to anticipate this one coming early or even on time as I don't think it makes a difference. If anything I think my due date is a bit early as I was moved forward a whole 6 days from my LMP date!

Notquiteagandt I'm so sorry, you've really been through the ringer! HG is so horrendous, I'm glad the end is coming for you soon.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 29/12/2018 18:46

I ironed sleep suits, vests, all clothing with my first baby, second one I didn’t bother with anything except certain outfits that needed it!

Welshshepherdess · 29/12/2018 18:48

Not sure if this is anyone’s cup of tea but a relative tagged me in it as she’s a researcher for the bbc. I’m currently putting baby stuff on hold for DS as I’ve got to make him a bloody sock puppet for homework 🙈

lanalawr · 29/12/2018 19:01

I'm a washer too. I stopped at some point but all the early stuff was washed and I ironed sleepsuits and vests. Won't be doing the ironing this time though. Poor second child. 😂

@Notquiteagandt that sounds soon! It's good that they're keeping an eye on you and baby. At least you've got warning so can prepare over the next couple of weeks too.

@Welshshepherdess thanks. Not my thing but BBC Wales did something for babies born around Jan/Feb last year called Help I'm Having A Baby. It may still be on iPlayer but I'm not sure.

sickmumma · 29/12/2018 19:15

I have washed the second hand bits I brought but not the new bits! I need to
Have a sit down and organise to see what I've actually got clothes wise! Managed to get car seat adapters for our buggy today less than half price! I think I would like to perhaps get one more blanket and some
Swaddles but friends and family
Keep asking so I might give them those as ideas as I don't think they are too expensive?

I also brought all of DD birthday presents in the sales today! We had a really lovely girly shopping trip! So all that's done just need to
Sort a party! But I know if I am struggling MIL will give me a hand!

I am not back at work until the 14th Jan (then finish on the 23rd!) so going to try and get stuff done organising once the kids are at school! I just need to Get maternity pads and breast pads for my bag I think! One of my key children's mummies got me a little gift With little smellies etc in which will be perfect for my hospital bag!

Yakadee · 29/12/2018 19:33

@bubblybrit - nah, I haven't ironed any of mine - it's not that kind of material I don't think. (Saying that, I don't iron anything of my son's either lol - unless it was a shirt or something).

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow so was itching to get them washed so I felt somewhat organised! Xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 29/12/2018 20:20

A couple of people have tagged me in that BBC thing...

I don’t think they even know me... Hell would freeze over first!! 😂😂

Yakadee · 29/12/2018 20:39

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - you're not alone there!

What the hell is going on with lightening crotch this evening - yikes! I'm assuming there's no way to ease it?? X

bubblybrit · 29/12/2018 20:50

Thank goodness - it seems as if I can get away with not ironing them! Smile my task list just seems to be growing so glad I can score that one off x

powkin · 29/12/2018 21:29

@Yakadee - I've heard a pack of peas can help... I've really overdone it with walking and carrying bags back from the shops today and am really suffering too.

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - I'm curious enough to know what sort of program they are making to fill in my details - I do LOVE 24 hours in A&E/in Police Custody so that tempts me ever so slightly! I can't imagine me agreeing to it though, I'm more nosey than anything!

Having said that, we've actually just applied for a garden makeover show because it would be fairly life changing to have a nice garden. Having seen the program I know that most of the show is focussed on the makeover itself and not the people they are doing the makeover for, a la DIY SOS.

Yakadee · 29/12/2018 21:35

@powkin - I'm in bed now but will look into this for sure, thanks x

Since2016 · 29/12/2018 23:02

@notquiteagandt you poor thing that sounds just awful. But the end is hopefully in sight now!

I’ve done at least 6 loads of baby washing. One more to go. I got out up to 9 months from the loft (I bagged stuff in sizes - v helpful!!!) sadly I will need to iron a lot as I used the tumble dryer owing to the volume but it’ll be a good excuse to binge watch tv!

Still in a Christmas bubble and then DD’s bday on 31st Jan. So need to plan that too! Still in denial 😂

babyp160 · 30/12/2018 01:12

I've washed hospital bag clothes and that is as far as I have got! 🙈

A friend is due in 4 weeks and was induced today as her waters were low 😬

Yakadee · 30/12/2018 02:08

HEARTBURN - that is all 😩😩😩

Welshshepherdess · 30/12/2018 03:05

@Yakadee me to 😭😭😭 fire breathing dragon here at the moment.

Wames90 · 30/12/2018 04:26

@yakadee & @welshshepherdess me too 🤢👎🏼 I’ve woken up 3 times now, even gaviscon isn’t working like it did before 🤦🏼‍♀️. Do all these symptoms just disappear as soon as baby is born or does our bodies take a while to catch up?!

Yakadee · 30/12/2018 06:05

@Wames90 @Welshshepherdess - what a crap night, I might have managed to snooze but have been up since 5!

I remember everything just going as soon as baby was born thankfully! Going to be a long day! Hope you two managed some sleep x
