As heartburn queen this current PG, I can vouch that if you prop yourself up at night and make sure you eat your evening meal before 7PM, it's a lot easier. I'm taking gaviscon tablets, not much cop. Burped my way through DD's open morning today, some parents kept a wide berth (must have thought I was about to projectile vomit on them or something!)
Sophus, hope you're feeling a bit better.

kinki · 06/07/2007 19:43

Emlou, try sleeping propped up. I use a v-shaped pillow and about 3 other pillows. This helps me.

You might want to run that by the big E first though, oh wisest of the wise ones!

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 19:45

the big E? Or the big Sea?

[blushes gracefully and waves the conversation on]

kinki · 06/07/2007 19:45

Oh and I take Omeprazole, this really keeps it at bay. If it gets really bad maybe ask the doc to prescibe you something.

EmLouT · 06/07/2007 19:46

Thanks. I'll give the sleeping propped up a try.

kinki · 06/07/2007 19:48

The big sea sounds so vast and omnipresent, so yes, that is how you shall be known. (I meant the big E as in your 2nd last letter )

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 19:50

'tis my fourth don't you know?

i think it is mild hysteria being covered by the calmnness at the moment.

dal21 · 06/07/2007 19:50

I like it! The big sea! unless you are prone to sensitivity??? on a bad day - you may take it personally???

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 19:52

my tail will twitch if so.

dal21 · 06/07/2007 19:55

Your fourth, congrats, that is fantastic! I'd love 4, but as they say - will learn to walk before i can run!

kinki · 06/07/2007 19:55

Opps, meant the knowledge was so vast. . Your honour.

Oh oh oh, just turned tv to bbc1 and they're talking about someone called Ramona.

kinki · 06/07/2007 19:57

I'd love a 4th too, but after this 3rd one I'm going to staple my legs firmly together. Never again.

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 19:58

I am off to take the lo's to bed. I hope to see you soon, if not have a lovely weekend and take it easy.

dal21 · 06/07/2007 19:58

well i was on the baby channel - never checked it out and thought i would. if we thought our hands were full (or going to be)- there were parents who were coping with their second sets of twins and triplets. the mind boggles!

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 19:59

lol kinki, its the snip or nothing from now on iyswim

dal21 · 06/07/2007 20:00

famous last words kinki! my midwife said she thought the same. then one day - she wanted another one. DH took some convincing as others were older...but she got her way and no. 4 popped along!

kinki · 06/07/2007 20:00

gulp!

kinki · 06/07/2007 20:03

that was gulp to the twins/triplets.

Nah, I'll stick to staples. If I do change my mind, big IF, I could always use a staple remover. See? All angles covered. (Might walk a bit funnily though)

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 20:19

[enters the arena ready to dispense with pearls of 'wisdom']

I hope you mean him kinki!
I wonder where Hopey is, I she and dh are ok.

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 20:26

anyone?
I'm feeling lonely.
Actually I'm not but I want to chat anyway until dp gets home.
I am using you.

dal21 · 06/07/2007 20:29

was watching eastenders! max is back! ohh

MrsFish · 06/07/2007 20:35

I find sitting up doesn't help me with heartburn, I get it regardless, sitting, lying down, walking around I do try and eat at least 2 hours before bed though but we never eat before 7.30 and I'm ready for bed about 9pm. I am usually woken up about midnight with it, but usually a couple of rennee sort it out

SeamonstEr · 06/07/2007 20:37

i don't watch eastenders so I have no idea who max is.
I have to go now, as washing is done and dp will hopefully be home soon. I'll hopefully speak to you again on Monday pm. Take it easy...

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 07/07/2007 09:21

ok, so ramona does exist - but, well, it's v american isn't it? and i'm not... so digging my heels in.
wonder why she was on bbc1 - and if it was mrsmars penpal?!

i bought and still buy a lot of baby basics from john lewis. it is nice to get something a bit speciall for the journey home from hosp - lots of photos there (only we were so stressed we forgot, long story involving dog, dh's sister and burglars. shudder). the white company is also good for lovely but unisex stuff. still grieves me that the spotty blanket and matching hat i got dd from there to come home in didn't work out as hat got lost in icu. i'm not complaining, heavens, dd was fine, what's a hat but it would have been nice if she'd worn the outfit i'd planned (and here i am proving seamonster is wise indeed when she says stay flexible, let it go, don't stress, it doesn't matter...)

MrsFish · 07/07/2007 09:45

I had so many blankets as presents with DS1, I haven't used two of them as they were beautiful crocheted jobs and seeing as he was born in a hot summer never really needed them.

This is my favourite though, its so soft and cuddly can't wait to use it again. Managed to track it down and have bought as presents for other people I loved it so much.
