Ah there you all are! I was wondering where you all were this morning and wondering why no updates. Doh.

Kinki its so lovely that your boys did you proud at sports day!! V happy for you

Hopey I hope your house guest is over its flatulence issues!!

PLP - sorry to hear you are having work grief as well as poor Kinki. Hang on in there and I live the thread suggestion.

Anti D's suck don't they? I've had 4 now due to all my bleeding probs a few weeks ago and they were all in the bum except one in the thigh. The last one didn't hurt as much - must be getting toughened up!!

Feeling good today - working at home. Yay!!

FlossALump · 21/06/2007 12:44

Hello! I'm sorry I kind of got a bit bored with being pregnant for a while and lost motivation to post - that sounds really awful doesn't it? Sorry to sound so rude. The past few weeks have just dragged so incredibly slowly since my scan. Have now made it to 28 weeks and feeling chuffed to be in my last trimester.

I've been quite well really, usual pregnancy niggles of sore top of bump and back pain. Indegestion seems to be creeping up on me a touch, but so far nothing compared to last time. Am very much hoping that it stays that way!

Sympathising with the Anti D soreness! Just had mine this morning, with DS standing over the midwife thoroughly enjoying the whole thing. Nice to know whose side he is on! He heard the heartbeat and told me it was the baby so hopefully some things are sinking in.

Everyone also seems to suggest that I am huge, to be fair I measured 29 cms this morning, but I was about the same with DS, a cm ahead for most of my check ups.

Still hoping for a home birth, apparently final decision will be made at 36 weeks as long as there have been no complications, which I am happy with.

Had a drama queen moment a few weeks ago and decided my waters were leaking. Which of course they weren't. All was fine. But had a lovely dr check me over and seemed to get a bit of special treatment as I was in uniform! . Had another scan to check and still seems to be a girl in there. Still the case though that the only pink item I have is a bath support!!

Went away for a week last week and actually found the whole thing more tiring than being at home! DS wasn't quite the little angel I was hoping for... Anyone in cornwall last week probably has my son's name ingrained in their memory for a lifetime... . Away again next weekend for my friends wedding, and then found out yesterday we have two more receptions to attend next month and the month after. I brought a really lovely maternity skirt in a sale in the size above my usual but haven't been able to wear it yet as it still falls down. On one hand I'm rather pleased about that but at the same time I hope by the time of one of the receptions it will stay up!

Hiwbb, sorry to hear you have had such a tough time with DH and his surgery. Fingers crossed he gets his op done (again) in 6 weeks as they said and no further messing about.

Kinki, hope you get somewhere with your maternity leave stuff soon.

Am too fed up with all the, 'not until sept? Goodness!' Type comments. However, just lately when people have asked most of them seem to be saying 'oh not long now!'. Only hope they are right and time flies by for us all nice and quickly and smoothly.

FlossALump · 21/06/2007 12:45

err, sorry that was kind of long wasn't it?

Chattyhan · 21/06/2007 13:20

can't believe we're on another thread!

Agree with the we will make it through the summer idea - i get it a lot too and becasue sept is at the end of the summer it seems such a long way off. But when i count down the weeks!!!!!! I need to get organised!

HIWBB glad dh is home the whole thing sounds like a nightmare.

PLP sorry to hear work is a bit of a nightmare bur it looks like you are taking charge and standing firm - i hope you get a good result!

Hi flossalump - my ds is winding me up too so i sympathise with you!

My anti D is on monday - i've had it in the arm and thigh previously! I hate that tingly, oozing, dense feeling.

kinki · 21/06/2007 13:34

Shame you didn't come back more relaxed from your holiday floss. About the skirt, I think you should pig out a bit, it would be a shame to never fit in it!

I've got my anti-d in a couple of weeks time. I'm sure I've had it before but I really don't remember it hurting. Maybe I was lucky. I've got it on the same day as my gtt.

Sorry to hear your problems at work too PLP, some employers are complete ar$eholes aren't they? I'm hopefully getting more information tomorrow when I go into work, then I might start a thread to see if anyone else has got any suggestions. Lots and lots of advice has come from you guys already, for which I'm very grateful.

Do you remember a few months back several of you were talking about erotic dreams (or am I imagining that)? Well, I never had any then, last night I had my first this pregnancy. I won't bore you with all the details, but wanted to share, that although I have never met a man with achondroplasia before, if ever one asked me out, I will definately be saying yes! And I'll also be looking forward to meeting his 3 friends!

FilBrit · 21/06/2007 13:48

Kinki I have obvously led a very sheltered life as I'm not sure what achondroplasia is, unless it's 2 for the price of 1?!

holsnovell · 21/06/2007 13:53

Wow there's a few of us with the anti d! I have mine next week. With dd i had it in the arm but apparently where i am now i have it in the bum. I'm dreading it as i throw up at least three times with it.

dal21 · 21/06/2007 14:10

Hello all! I am rhesus neg and DH is rhesus pos, so I have my anti d jab in a few weeks. I am not normally squeamish with needles or injections, but i imagine you guys arent either. does it really hurt?
wasnt warned about that!!!!

rhubarb90 · 21/06/2007 14:13

I'm not looking forward to being huge all through the summer either, especially since I can't find any nice clothes and I have three parties to go to in the next three weeks. Still, the weather at the moment is quite dreadful so maybe we won't have a hot summer at all! I think that was supposed to sound like a good thing, but I suppose that would kind of suck too really. I don't know what I'm on about. I'm putting it down to pregnant mushy brain again.

Chattyhan · 21/06/2007 14:30

Dal21 to answer your anti-d question - i don't think it really hurts any more than other injections but the difference is it's a very thick substance and i can feel it oozing through me which is the bit i don't like.

i've had it 7 times and i've never been sick or had any bad effects only an annoying pins and needles/dead arm or leg feeling!

Chattyhan · 21/06/2007 14:31

There seem to be an awful lot of us having anti-D and i thought rhesus negative was supposed to be quite rare?

kinki · 21/06/2007 14:32

FilB, achondroplasia is a form of dwarfism, the kind where only the long bones (limbs) are affected. In my dream I can vouch that other body proportions are well within normal limits (well actually more impressive than normal limits if I'm honest). Ahem. What would Freud make of that?

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 21/06/2007 15:12

hello all, i've been away for a while riding my personal stress roller coaster (scans, jabs, a brush with gestational diabetes - false alarm thank goodness) but thought i really should get over myself and say 'hello'.

good to see all the 'september ladies' are on good form!

Kinki - didn't freud say basically all dreams were wish fullfilment? that's pretty much all i recall, that and your purse/bag/jerwellery box is your vagina...

everyone suffering with rubbish employers has my sympathy. mine are being pretty lax. hard to tell how bad they're going to be as they won't talk to me. i do understand they're busy with the alan johnston situation and blimey his needs are more pressing than mine but i'm due to go back full time in four weeks and at the moment i have no idea what hours i'm meant to work.
so just as i'd worked something out with dh our child minder tells us she's going to be off sick for six weeks and then on hols for a fortnight. aaaaaaaaargh! two months with no childcare?! the two months before the baby is due?! what on earth are we meant to do?! anyway the good news is i just checked the contract and there is no sick pay mentioned so we can hopefully get a replacement. not ideal but poor cm can't help needing a major op. feel rotten about sick pay too but cm's are self employed and we do pay holiday pay so not a bad deal i guess. and if we had to offer sick pay we'd be stuffed!

i suppose i should wake dd up. she's meant to sleep till three but been distracted by mn. and heck, what's a few minutes between friends. she can go to bed a wee bit later tonight. it's not like it's a coronation street night or anything important!

Pennypops · 21/06/2007 15:40

Dal - antiD's do sting a bit tbh because it is quite gelatinous stuff but it really it isn't that bad. Its all over pretty quickly. Bend over and think happy thoughts

Pennypops · 21/06/2007 15:49

Oh and Kinki I have had a few rather pleasant dreams involving work colleagues and my usual lust objects! The one with the work colleague totally freaked me out - I sit next to the guy and haven't been able to look at him the same since.

I have actually woken feeling a little guilty once or twice!! I love dh with every fibre of my being (and fancy his pants off) but dammit my subconscious won't behave.

laksa · 21/06/2007 15:51

ooh kinki, you are living up to your name

FilBrit · 21/06/2007 16:40

Kinki - I like it !

kinki · 21/06/2007 17:46

Laksa, sorry to shatter any illusions, but my nn is a play on my maiden name which was a nn I had a school, rather than any personal attribute, (unfortunately). PP, know what you mean! Eno, makes sense about freud, my dh has been a real PITA lately and he's a big man, 6ft+, so maybe I'm secretly craving little men instead.

SeamonstEr · 21/06/2007 17:58

RIGHT!
That's it.

I am taking dd up for bath. [quiche in hair]

I will then send up ds's. [p'ing me off]

then I will eat my tea, tidy the toys clear the kitchen, sort the washing, get it drying , wash my nappies, get them drying, make packed lunches (refrain from spitting in them), clean the bleedin' tooilets again and finally get some peace from the constant whining, fighting and arguing.

It has been building for weeks now and I'VE HAD ENOUGH.

MrsMar · 21/06/2007 18:01

hi all!

Sorry to hear about ongoing work woes..... I'm very lucky mine have been great, although there has been some confusion as to how we categorise absences due to ante natal appointments, are they sick leave or are they something like special leave? I dunno, so long as I don't get penalised! Enormouschanges - I hope you get the hours thing sorted out soon (I'm another Beeber), I'm starting an attachment in March when I come back from mat leave, I do hope they are able to give me an idea of hours and days I'll be working so I can arrange some childcare!

Ok, so you know how pride comes before a fall? Well I was feeling so happy about the builders starting my new bathroom (I can't remember who has been waiting 2 years for their new bathroom, is that you Kinki?) Well of course they've fallen behind and it won't be finished until next week (arrgh!) and on Monday I have the prospect of two plumbers fitting the loo and sink AND a painter painting the living room and our bedroom at the same time!!! Hmmm chaos aint the word! One good thing though, the bath is finally plumbed in, so no more of the contortionist act standing with my foot in the kitchen sink!!

at all the saucy dreams!!! I think mine have all passed, I'm now having loads of baby dreams, I keep dreaming the baby is premature. I kinda wish i could go back to the rude ones, even if I did feel guilty every morning cos they were never about dh!!

Have a lovely evening everyone

xxx

MrsMar · 21/06/2007 18:05

ooooh seamonster, I feel your pain! Lay down the law! You need something that just popped through my door this morning, a leaflet for a cleaning company (it caught my eye because they do carpet cleaning and my carpets have been battered by the builders) and one of the things they do is a "nesting clean" for anyone with a baby on the way, they'll come and blitz your house! Sounds sooo tempting! My house is a pit (and I don't even have children messing it up, the builders are doing that on their own!)

Sympathies for everyone having anti d jabs... I'm O pos (the most boring blood type in the world) so I guess I'm going to manage to avoid that one, sounds nasty! Ouch, injecting gel..

sophus · 21/06/2007 18:09

Anti-d can't have been that bad because DP didn't faint or anything. And this is the man who couldn't watch a kitten wee last week when it had a urine infection.

kinki · 21/06/2007 18:16

SeaM, hang on in there for an hour or so, then get them all into bed early. Like Mrs M says, lay down the law. Other than that, not sure what to say. In the old days I would have said hit the bottle, not possible now though I guess. You could always threaten them with the children's home, that works for me sometimes. You have my sympathies.

MrsMar · 21/06/2007 18:42

LOL sophus at dp unable to watch a kitten pee!!!!

SeamonstEr · 21/06/2007 18:45

ok, 2 down 1 to go. He's watching something about sharks biting people at the moment, and has been very helpful as ds2 had his daily tantrum. dd showered and snuggled in bed listening with an almost bewildering calmness.
I am trying the ignore him for a bit technique, he knows its bedtime and that he has to change and wash, so we'll see.
