yeah I don't blame you ffiffi8 I know I am going to told the same thing by MW. Haven't dared talk to my consultant yet about birth options as I knew it would start me crying.

I can't believe the last thread got filled up so quickly.

7 weeks tomorrow. Can't believe how slowly the days are going. So fed up of feeling sick and not being able to enjoy any food. So tmi but been horrendously constipated Confused it's been awful. I didn't realise how exhausting all this would be.

Everyone who's having early scans, your so lucky! I've got my 12 weeks scan booked for 31.12 such a long time to wait!

Has anyone had/or is going to have a private scan? Trying to work out where is best

itslilsebastian · 20/11/2018 09:19

@ffiffi8 @Kentishgal so difficult isn't it!

@ffiffi8 I threw up for the first time this morning which has actually made me weirdly happy cause it's kind of confirming I am pregnant (as if the 8 pregnancy tests didn't), I've been feeling little twinges and pulls in both sides of my abdomen, not pain just a pulling feeling, my sister said she had this during pregnancy and it's just your body stretching and preparing as I went into a panic that I was losing it. I have a sharp pain when I cough and sneeze sometimes as well. That's about it. How about you?

Twistering · 20/11/2018 09:39

Good luck @kentishgal!

HallowsandHorcruxes · 20/11/2018 09:51

Hi, can I join please?

EDD - July 29 and 4+1 today Smile

This is our first after about a year of trying so it really hasn't sunk in yet! I'm still POAS twice a day to make sure the line is still there!

Just trying to work out what to do now - iv not registered at a doctors at my new address yet but I don't think there are midwives based at the local surgeries anyway, only the bigger health centres. Will just have to phone around and hope someone points me in the right direction Grin

Laburna · 20/11/2018 09:56

All good, a nice strong heartbeat. Been measured at 8w 2d which is pretty much bang on where I thought, but puts due date 30th June at the moment.

12w scan is set for 18th December.

ratherbeshowjumping · 20/11/2018 10:04

@ohmybaby I love love your mums motto and I am trying to celebrate my symptoms instead of let me get me down easier said than done when sat in front of the loo all day 🙈

Just catching up on last night @5fivestar I'm so sorry xx

StargazyDrifter · 20/11/2018 10:15

Wonderful news Laburna! Must be a huge relief. And exciting that you'll see the little one again before Christmas.

BettySwoll0cks · 20/11/2018 10:28

Congrats Laburna, delighted for you!

For those asking about private scans, I would say that they are wonderful if you get good news. The downside is that if you receive uncertain or bad news privately, you then have to go about sorting it all out yourself with the nhs antenatal team. In my experience, BabyBond were just like, "bad luck, off you go". Whereas if you have a scan that shows a disappointing picture at the EPU you are there with the people who will advise and help you through it, iyswim...

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 20/11/2018 10:37

@itslilsebastian i'm having it at 8+5. I decided to do it then as I know that after 8 weeks the miscarriage rate drops to 2% if you see a heartbeat.

I'm having it done at a NHS medical centre that does private scans on the side. There are qualified medical professionals on site to offer advice and referrals etc

ohmybaby · 20/11/2018 10:37

Thanks @ratherbeshowjumping, all about the coping mechanisms haha 😅😅

Congratulations @laburna so pleased to see you’ve got positive news.

@5fivestar sending big hugs to you, so sorry xxx

SnailorSwift · 20/11/2018 10:41

Morning all.

Welcome to all the new people 👋🏻

@ffiffi8 that's basically the response I got with DS as well and will be same again this time. It's disappointing but as you say as long as everything is well managed and baby arrives safely that's the main thing 💕

crakpot1 · 20/11/2018 10:45

@Laburna great news! So pleased for you, I hope you can relax a little now x

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 20/11/2018 10:49

@Laburna and @ffiffi8 congratulations on the scans!

TwittleBee · 20/11/2018 11:02

Laburna ah yay! Congrats! Such good news!

Welcome HallowsandHorcruxes ! Congrats! Add yourself into the Google Doc Smile

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken ah that is a good statistic to know! I have an 8 week scan booked for next week. 7 week scan this week.

BettySwoll0cks · 20/11/2018 11:07

@allthegoodnamesalreadytaken that's a really good way of doing it, I might ask the midwifery team if there's a clinic like that near me.

Kentishgal · 20/11/2018 11:34

Excellent news laburna - what a relief! Back from EPU - good news was the gestational sac is in the womb and not the tube! But they couldn't confirm fetal pole - thought there might be something but couldn't be sure do booked for another scan in 10 days. It's going to be the longest 10 days ever. Mixed feelings now - still apprehensive given the bleeding and sudden "lack of feeling pregnant"! Nurse was lovely - she was annoyed the doc didn't refer me last week as she said I have an extremely high risk of ectopic so the sooner they check the more likely they can save the tube! So at least I know for future if needs be. Right, need to pretend to concentrate on work for the next ten days....😒

TwittleBee · 20/11/2018 11:49

Kentishgal that is good news it isnt ectopic! Was the sac measurements okay if she got the chance to measure? I would say it is a good sign they are having you back in 10 days. Remember, you are only 6 weeks (I think?) so you wouldn't really see anything at that stage. I was lucky that at my scan we got to see a flicker of a yolk in the sac at all. Post 7 weeks is when you can really see things much better (which is why reassurance scans are post 7 weeks)

ratherbeshowjumping · 20/11/2018 11:50

Fantastic news on the scans this morning! Congrats.

I was talking to a friend last night who suffered a mc around the same time as me last year - she had a total of 5 (mostly private) scans before 12 weeks as felt she needed constant reassurance that her twins were doing ok. Not quite at that level of anxiety but am getting so impatient for the 12 week one, especially as I'm almost 8 weeks and I haven't had my date through AND we've had to push my booking in appt with midwife back until 4th Dec...

Brainfried1986 · 20/11/2018 12:12

@Laburna Great news 😊

Kentishgal · 20/11/2018 12:29

Ok thanks for that twittlebee - that's comforting. She reckons it was measuring about five weeks - and I reckon based on ovulation date (I ovulated v late last cycle) I am 5 plus 3. She said it looked normal but I'd just liked to have seen the fetal pole for some reassurance!

Twistering · 20/11/2018 12:36

@Laburna great news!! And positive stuff @Kentishgal :) Hopefully the time will go quick, hate all this bloody waiting too.

ReginaPhalange89 · 20/11/2018 12:41

Yay ! Good news all-round this morning then, so pleased for you all x

ReginaPhalange89 · 20/11/2018 12:42

I'm so tempted to book a private scan too 🙈 only 4+1 but 12 weeks seems soooo far away. I'd be 9 weeks at Christmas so it'd be nice to have one the week before so I don't have to hide it as much at get togethers!

Laburna · 20/11/2018 12:44

@kentishgal given a margin of error for late fertilisation and implantation, a difference of a couple of days, especially as she's maybe not measured as accurately as she could, is pretty good! I hope the next 10days goes past at a decent speed!
