@MakeAWhish I love that name!!! Xx

RooKangaroo · 26/11/2018 09:11

Nausea has potentially kicked in here. Not sure if it's something unrelated (we've all had a bit of a bug over the last few days), or if this is the real thing now.

(Part of me really wants it to be the real thing as I've had no symptoms so far: part of me wants to curl up into the foetal position in the dark)

GiGi18 · 26/11/2018 09:27

Nausea kicked in for me over the weekend too and this morning. Haven't been sick yet but been dry heaving (lovely!) totally off coffee now, I've been having two cups a day but now the thought of it is making my stomach turn. About to attempt some toast. The thought of anything but dry food is off putting!

Chinks123 · 26/11/2018 09:42

I’m very naouseos this time too. I’m sure I never had any of these symptoms when I was pregnant with dd, unless I’ve just forgotten. @crakpot1 caramel snackajacks are saving me at the minute, I might have eaten a whole pack yesterday though!

Mainly for me at the minute (apart from the bloating) is I’m so so teary. I’m welling up writing this and I don’t know why Blush

Frazzlerock · 26/11/2018 09:43

@AIDE2424 oh bloody hell, this is doing nothing for your anxiety levels Sad. Keep pestering them.

@Jojobunny I've been thinking of names but not really shared with DP yet - he is too terrified to think about anything. Top of my list for a girl was Lydia but it has been stolen by DP's step sister Angry. Maybe we could use it for a middle name. Other than that name I have no idea... I rather like Georgia or Georgina but have a huge list of girls names that I've acquired over the years of having boys Grin

For a boy I love Jago or Zeddy, though Zeddy seems a bit 'out there' and I've no idea if it is short for anything.

@TwittleBee xxx

@crakpot1 I hope your booking in goes well. Ours was about 1.5 hours. If your DP isn't going with you, make sure you have a note of any of his immediate family medical history.

@smerlin how are you this morning?

Questions... do you think at 9 weeks, if nausea hasn't really kicked in, that it never will do?

Chinks123 · 26/11/2018 09:48

@Frazzlerock you might manage to avoid it ever kicking it if it hasn’t done so already. With my first I was never nauseous and was not sick once! This time around I’ve got karma for being so smug..

RooKangaroo · 26/11/2018 09:52

@Frazzlerock, to be completely honest, I think it's a free-for-all. Anecdotally I've had friends who've had various symptoms all over the place, at different times.

It's probably more likely that you've avoided it, but I don't think there are many certainties with pregnancy and symptoms.

Such a lovely journey for us all..... Grin

MakeAWhish · 26/11/2018 09:56

I was so lucky with my other two pregnancies, no nausea or sickness at all. Fingers crossed I'll be lucky again this time. Sorry for all of those that are suffering 😞

Frazzlerock · 26/11/2018 09:56

I'm wondering if it is a girl/boy thing.s With my two boys I barely had any nausea. But my little one we lost at 9 weeks, I felt very very certain I was having a girl (and subsequently named her Emily) and I was far more nauseous with her.

This time, like with the boys, I get the odd subtle wave and certain smells make me feel slightly woozy but nothing terribly noticeable. I am also 99% sure this one is a boy....

smerlin · 26/11/2018 09:58

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone. Still bleeding unfortunately so feeling pretty shit. Am at work trying to hold it together.

Last time constantly, and I mean constantly, nibbling at a cream cracker helped with nausea. And anything lemon flavoured.

Chinks123 · 26/11/2018 09:58

I was told that you have less nausea and sickness with a boy, so everyone was certain dd was a boy. All the old wives tales and that Chinese gender prediction said she was a boy too. This time I feel completely different, so dp is convinced it’s a boy. I’ve told him not get his hopes up!

Kentishgal · 26/11/2018 09:59

Hello, I've been off radar for a few days so just catching up. Had 26 people over for daughter's third birthday yesterday and I'm exhausted now! And feel poorly with cold.

Re the bras discussion - I'm a 32 a/b so unfortunately don't have this worry - I really hoped last time they'd get bigger but no - it's rubbish!

Someone mentioned (Snailorswift?) about a general for a c section - last time I had the first half of the op with an epidural and the second half under a general - obviously you don't get to hold baby for a bit (in fact I didn't get to hold her till the next day) and it can impact on breast feeding etc but there's downside to everything and if it's medically the best thing for you then do it. I just think it's got to be what's safest for you and baby.

No pregnancy symptoms - I don't think there's a baby in there any more but we'll see at the scan on friday. More brown discharge yesterday so not getting hopes up.

Any news on blood test results?

GiGi18 · 26/11/2018 10:04

@Frazzlerock could Zeddy be short for Zebediah?

SnailorSwift · 26/11/2018 10:16

Morning all will go back and catch up now, but I'm back to work and slapped cheek is doing the rounds (based in a school) so I'm on edge. Manager has been on to occupational health for advice and they've said to ring my GP so waiting to hear back from them. My manager said they may send me home but don't know yet.

Yes that was me @Kentishgal thanks for your insight. As you say whatever's best/safest way of getting baby here.

BettySwoll0cks · 26/11/2018 10:24

@TwittleBee morning lovely - I am in exactly the same boat as you, so confused by my body which still definitely thinks it's pregnant. Doesn't seem fair really. What time is your scan on Thurs? I also have one, Thurs at 4pm

I can't bring myself to adult today so I've taken a duvet day. Watching Kirstie's Christmas craft whatnot and drinking ginger tea

amanda2809 · 26/11/2018 10:24

totally agree @Kentishgal, safe and healthy is my priority for delivery!

DS was an unplanned homebirth (me, husband, and a paramedic who only had time to put one glove on before catching baby!) I'd been in labour for about 16 hours, been to hospital and sent home because I was only 2cm. Then 4 hours later panic stations! This time all I want (other than safe and healthy) is to be in a hospital. Husband has said he's going to borrow his brother's camper van, he's starting saving now so we can park and live in the hospital car park from my due date Wink Grin

TwittleBee · 26/11/2018 10:34

BettySwoll0cks oh that sounds like a good day though, wish I could be doing that! So sorry you are in this horrid limbo too. my scan is at 12. Have my booking app at 9.30 on thursday too, idk if I should rearrange it?

I’m still feeling nausea but not as bad as I got something prescribed I was sick of being in bed all day feeling rotten with it. They have def helped take the edge of the sickness and I managed to get out a few times over the weekend! I’m just eating little and often although I had two bigger meals the last 2 nights and that def made me feel worse I think.

Had a big family gathering yesterday and it’s so hard not telling everyone...but just want to get to 12 weeks and know everything’s ok!

Kentishgal · 26/11/2018 10:37

Wow - you've got to make sure you're at the hospital when you have your first contraction!! I get really upset by the whole birth pressure / shaming thing - with my first I had three days of labour and then an emergency c-section - I haemorrhaged, had a 70% blood loss, two blood transfusions and it was incredibly frightening. And then two months later I was in a shop and some woman turned to me and said "cute baby, my DiL just had a baby, no pain relief at all, back in her size 8's the next week - what did you have" so I told her a c-section and she said "ha ha the easy option, out the sun roof ha ha" and walked off! I just thought, how incredibly cruel people can be, for no reason, why make someone else feel rubbish and a bit of a failure? And why does it matter how they arrive - surely as long as mum and baby are alive and well that's all that should matter??

Anyway rant over! Apologies!

And yes I'll be having baby "out the sunroof" this time if we get there!! 😂

AIDE2424 · 26/11/2018 10:42

Got my bloods back! They’ve more then doubled gone from 779 to 2000 so I’m pleased, can’t 100 rule out ectopic but back for a scan Friday!x

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 26/11/2018 10:47

@crakpot1 holland and barrett do these little sweets called gin gins which are little ginger sweets they are really helping me on the trains in the morning

@Chinks123 nausea is really bad for me this time too. I was completely symptomless with DD so i’m thinking this one is probably a boy

@Frazzlerock I think if it hasn’t kicked in at 9 weeks you’re one of the lucky ones and you probably won’t get it now

@smerlin big hugs I hope the bleeding stops soon and some good news is on the horizon

@amanda2809 what a birth story! you might need a lottery win to fund that hospital stay though it’s extortionate 😁

Good luck for everyone’s scans today

Frazzlerock · 26/11/2018 10:49

Oh @AIDE2424 that is awesome news!

TwittleBee · 26/11/2018 10:50

oh that is a relief that they have more than doubled! That is brilliant AIDE2424 !!! Really FX for you that this is it now
