Thankyou I’m so pleased I need to try and remain chilled until Friday now xxx

hayleyfx · 26/11/2018 10:59

@AIDE2424 amazing news!! I hope you get good news again at your scan. Fingers crossed 🤞

I’ve got first midwife appointment today, makes it feel a bit more real. Going to talk to her about how anxious I am, just worrying about everything. Desperate for this baby to stick and be healthy.
Good luck to everyone with scans today!

amanda2809 · 26/11/2018 11:00

@AIDE2424 that is fantastic news!!!! Are you still in hospital? if so hope you can get home soon!

Kentishgal · 26/11/2018 11:00

Fab news AIDE2424 - sounds really positive!

hayleyfx · 26/11/2018 11:01

@Chinks123 thank you! I hope you have a very healthy, straight forward pregnancy too x

Chinks123 · 26/11/2018 11:03

Great news @AIDE2424!

Thankyou so much @hayleyfx, I’m so nervous this time around, I’m just trying to relax and enjoy it.

amanda2809 · 26/11/2018 11:05

@KentishGal totally agree. I've never had one but I know that whoever thinks a c section is the easy route is mistaken!

Despite DS's birth (which was far more traumatic for my husband than me!), I had it easy, physically at least. It was found DS had sepsis the day after he was born so we ended up staying in for a week whilst he had antibiotics and regular blood tests. Mentally draining and so emotional but physically great, I was pretty much forced into bed rest for the first week (although there was nothing 'wrong' with me), hospital food wasn't too terrible, husband could visit all day but we could restrict other visitors. Meant when we got home I actually felt rested, physically at least

Meg1389 · 26/11/2018 11:08

@crakpot1 cyclizine hydrochloride 50mg up to 3 times a day I’ve just been taking them twice a day at min. I was trying to avoid them but I was reading into them and had a good chat with the doctor about how safe it was to take them. This Is day 3 of taking them and I feel better, not 100%, but I’ll take a bit better!

AIDE2424 · 26/11/2018 11:08

@amanda2809 I’m going home today thankgod just need to hope now that baby pip is growing in the right place ❤️

Kentishgal · 26/11/2018 11:10

Amanda2809 that's just your worst nightmare - was he alright? It happened to a friend actually and sort of took away that joy of having a new baby. God there are so many worries aren't there - I was sat watching children in need in tears the other day, the things some people go through, life van be v unfair.

crakpot1 · 26/11/2018 11:12

@Meg1389 thanks, I'm going to have a chat when I see a midwife today and then maybe book a Drs app. I'll let you know how I get on :)

ratherbeshowjumping · 26/11/2018 11:16

Morning everyone,
Went to the hospital this morning and thought I'd update you all - the midwife and sonographer had absolutely none of my notes from the weekend so as far as they were aware, they were checking a pregnancy with a confirmed heartbeat etc.... really not very nice to explain that actually they were checking to see whether or not I needed a D&C!
They were lovely however and basically checked everything, ovaries, cervix, the whole works - confirmed that they could see absolutely nothing wrong with me, just shit luck, and to get trying as soon as ready.
So fx'd i will be back in the coming months to tell you all that we have another mini showjumper on the way.
Wishing you all a happy and boring pregnancy xxxxx

RooKangaroo · 26/11/2018 11:18

Great news, @AIDE2424! And everything crossed for your scan later this week x

RooKangaroo · 26/11/2018 11:20

Oh, I'm sorry @ratherbeshowjumping. I can't imagine how upsetting it must have been to update the midwife about what's going on.

Really glad they didn't find any problems, and wishing you all the luck in the future. We'll miss you on this board (though you're always welcome to chat with us), but hope to hear good news from you in the future x

Meg1389 · 26/11/2018 11:24

@crakpot1 yeah do have a chat. I mean I spoke to my midwife and she said they may only prescribe them to people who have a more severe form of MS and are at risk of dehydration which wasn’t the case for me so I put it off. But I got to a point the other night where I was getting fed up of just feeling rotten and sick constantly I thought I’m just going to enquire more and I did my reading too. Doctor was pretty relaxed about prescribing me something. Just needed something to take the edge off and I want to get back to work! Hope you get on ok xx

ReginaPhalange89 · 26/11/2018 11:27

We've no name ideas at all yet! Haven't really thought about it though. We have two girls already , both names I'd pretty much decided before even conceiving lol just luckily my OH loved them too. I don't think it'll be as easy this time! We seem to have the same taste though do hopefully not. Boys names are harder than girls , I've never found one I loved in either previous pregnancy!

Laburna · 26/11/2018 11:32

@ratherbeshowjumping I'm glad you are doing ok, and that there isn't anything wrong. Though I understand the annoyance (...not sure that's the right word!) Of being told it's just bad luck. We got our test results back and were given the all clear that there was nothing specific wrong causing the MCs, and I felt a bit deflated, like I was glad there was nothing wrong, but that then meant there was nothing to fix. It's such a weird limbo place.

Fingers crossed it all works out, and it was just one of those things. Hopefully in a month or two you'll be back to tell us some good news! Xx

(not that you have to leave us!)

TwittleBee · 26/11/2018 12:25

So had a bit of spare time just now and had a sit down and think about dates and the scan. The 1st scan dated me at 5+4 and the 2nd one, 10 days later, dated me at 6+5. That is only 2 days variance so it really isnt anything is it? Do you think the sonographer was only saying not to get our hope up to try and lesson the blow if it is bad news? I do have cycles which vary by a couple of days too so I could have Oved a bit later than I thought? Or implanted later? I'm not just clasping at straws am I?

OP posts:
Kentishgal · 26/11/2018 12:36

Twittlebee they only needed to each be a day out - i thought the dates were meant to be very hit and miss at this stage - they said to me at my scan "around about 5 weeks". I don't know anything, but those dates sound pretty normal if you think about the v small measurements involved.

TwittleBee · 26/11/2018 12:41

Kentishgal yeah they are. I know with DS when I had my scans they kept jumping forward. I guess I am worried as dates are going backward and the way the sonographer said not to get our hopes up does suggest she don't think it is going to be good. She only measured the sac too so not sure what the yolk was doing

OP posts:
Frazzlerock · 26/11/2018 12:46

@TwittleBee I keep getting told that early scans are highly inaccurate which is why I have had a two week discrepancy. But obviously I won't know until Weds, I feel confident that Popsy is okay and will still have a heartbeat.
Perhaps it really was too early for them to detect a heartbeat for you.
Remember my scan at 6+3 did not detect a heartbeat but the one 10 days later did.

Frazzlerock · 26/11/2018 12:48

Also our sonographer herself told us that these scans are inaccurate, as well as my midwife.

TwittleBee · 26/11/2018 12:53

Frazzlerock yeah I know they are inaccurate, 1st sonographer told us that and I remember from DS. Do you think mayne the 2nd sonographer just wasn't sure what she was really doing or wanted us to be prepared for the worse case on Friday perhaps? I wouldn't have expected a heartbeat at 6+5 but I was expecting to be 7 weeks and sonographer said she should have been able to pick one up if I was 7 weeks. She just said she was concerned there wasn't enough growth between the 2 scans but like I said, there is only a 2 day discrepancy? Maybe it is because of the meds I am on, she assumes the slow growth is from that and so will be a bad outcome rather than measurements are inaccurate?

👋 Room for one more?
I had 3 beta blood tests last week that confirmed I’m pregnant, doubling and more in 24 hours, but also had spotting as well that weeks. Im 5 weeks today and approximately due on 30tg July, my birthday. Though this will change as one it’s an ivf pregnancy, two I’m in France and they count differently and finally I think I’m going to have a c section. I have a 4 year d dd and we’ve been trying to conceive for 3 years. I’ve suffered many many miscarriages in the last 2 years, it feels like Groundhog Day repeating the 1st trimester all the time, I’m excited to try again but so worried of it ending, the furthest along I was was 12 weeks before a miscarriage so a while to go to feel ‘safe’.

My first scan and they will date will be about 8 weeks and I’m looking forward and dreading it simultaneously. We’re not telling our dd until then but she already knows; she pats my ‘bump’ and rests her head on it and is being mummy looking after me. Talking of bump I think I’ll need maternity clothing soon as with all the miscarriages there was a bump

TwittleBee · 26/11/2018 12:54

oh god I feel like I am going crazy.
