@blueeyedviking I drink a lot of peppermint tea. I think that’s still ok in pregnancy?

Our early scan is costing £55. We’re in Yorkshire x

HchyScott · 21/11/2018 20:08

@blueeyedviking I’m lucky that mine is usually triggered by anxiety so I can have periods completely free of symptoms but it is horrible when it’s flaring up. My biggest bug bear is when people complain of being bloated when the actually mean they’ve put on a bit of weight or feel abit
Flabby... I’ve been in tears with bloatedness from Ibs, it’s so painful!
Really hope you’re settles during the pregnancy, it’s hard to know what symptom is what sometimes isn’t it! X

StargazyDrifter · 21/11/2018 20:11

blueeyedviking do be judicious in terms of price vs quality, if you go very cheap you risk coming across someone not that qualified and/or less precise equipment and it can cause a lot of unnecessary heartache. They might also not be that good at advising you beyond 'err it's not good'. Positive reviews don't always show the full downsides. I haven't had a private scan yet so not sure on price. Last I heard anyone talk about it they said £100 (in central London).

BettySwoll0cks · 21/11/2018 20:19

Yes they're £90 ish in Essex/Suffolk

Onestep2 · 21/11/2018 20:27

@blueeyedviking there is a clinic that specialise in scans in Glasgow and it's £39 for an early reassurance scan. I've booked one for next Sunday 🐝🐝🐝

stephn88 · 21/11/2018 20:49

Hi all, new here so thought I'd join a relevant thread :)
I'm currently pregnant, think I'm 6 or 7 weeks, it's hard to tell, because I use a couple of apps and one says 7+4 and the others say 6+4. The one that is saying 7+4 is the one I was logging all my periods on and used to time my ovulation etc.... so any suggestions of which is more accurate would be fab?! :)

This is my second pregnancy this year, unfortunately my first ended in a missed miscarriage at around 10 weeks, we found out at the 12 week scan :(

To say I'm really nervous this time is an understatement, can't seem to think about anything else other than pregnancy 😂

MyloC · 21/11/2018 21:00

@onestep2 is it ABC4D you have booked? I have booked that one in Glasgow and was £39.

Giraffe888 · 21/11/2018 21:19

Did any of you do your BBT when TTC? If so, have you continued to do it since getting your BFP?

I am still doing mine but can’t decude whether to continue or stop x

Laburna · 21/11/2018 21:25

Hi stephn88 welcome! A few people have had similar issues with the weeks on apps. There's a setting on some which is 'current' week and another which is 'completed'. Basically when you start counting from your LMP that is week 0 and you have +1 day, +2 days etc, some of the apps count that first week as week 1, so you'd be 1+1, 1+2, 1+3 etc in your first week.

When was your LMP date? we might be able to tell you how far along you are if it helps ;) though regardless of the way it works it out, your EDD date should be the same?

blueeyedviking · 21/11/2018 21:25

Stephn88 congrats and welcome! I'm going on the basis of LMP until I have had a scan.

Thanks for sharing prices. Here it ranges mostly from £80 to £150, and yes I'm a bit sceptical to some of the even cheaper ones. I should get my scan letter soon so will see if we wait until then or book one earlier.

ReginaPhalange89 · 21/11/2018 21:33

I looked recently and an early /reassurance scan was about £45/50 near me ! I've never had an early one before but it was the same place I had my gender scan with my last baby, think it's called ABC4D

ratherbeshowjumping · 21/11/2018 21:36

Hi @AnnaBegins huge congrats on your BFP! 🎉
People just don't understand do they?! I jump at a decent level so made the decision not to continue that as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I know some people do & a friend of mine is currently jumping 1.30 tracks at 5 months pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️ but not for me.
I'm 8 weeks on Friday & just concentrating on flatwork at the minute - may even do the unspeakable & do dressage throughout the winter 😂😂 I plan to ride until I don't feel comfortable anymore. I'm lucky that I have lovely horses who look after me so 🤞🏼 I'll be out hacking all the way through.
How did you find it with your last pregnancy? Will you be riding this time?

ohmybaby · 21/11/2018 21:55

No sex here either, managed once since we found out but I’m just soooo not in the mood 😂😂

Belmo · 21/11/2018 22:04

I’ve just booked an ABC4D one (£44 in Edinburgh, how’s it a fiver more?? Grin). Am also a wee bit sceptical about it but couldn’t afford the more expensive one (babybond) this close to Christmas.

MyloC · 21/11/2018 22:06

@Belmo there seems to have been good reviews and I know someone who was very happy with them. Hopefully be a good experience mine is 11th dec will let you know how it goes if yours isn’t before then!

Onestep2 · 21/11/2018 22:07

@myl0c yeah that's the one in Glasgow!! On Ingram street! Thought £39 Was pretty reasonable!

Mmm... I don't know why edi would be more expensive!

Kentishgal · 21/11/2018 22:10

Giraffe888 I have been continuing to chart my bbt but think it's making my insomnia worse. I saw a second rise after implantation and it's stayed up since then - but I'm thinking about stopping because if it suddenly drops I will assume the worst. What are your thoughts?

MyloC · 21/11/2018 22:24

@onestep2 how far along will you be when you go? Let me know how you get on Smile

AnnaBegins · 21/11/2018 22:35

@ratherbeshowjumping I'm the same with jumping, the guy I ride for is only happy for me to do flat work post 12 weeks which is fine with me. Last time I fell off at 11 weeks and scared DH but all was well.
I felt absolutely fine last time. I ride a lovely young mare who I've ridden for 4 years since she was a real youngster and she looked after me more when I was pregnant, horses know. And I really only hack these days. Also I'm super lazy and won't ride much over winter anyway!

Jxtina86 · 21/11/2018 22:41

@TwinkleDay I have a similar situation at my work too. My colleague really isn't happy and I have become a bit of a sounding board for her. We both have the same frustrations but I'm a little bit more blase about it all and I think she's wondering why! I've come so close to telling her in confidence but I'm holding out till I've told our boss after my scan.

ratherbeshowjumping · 22/11/2018 06:11

@AnnaBegins I'm absolutely convinced they do know. One of mine is "quirky" to handle on the ground sometimes but since I've been pregnant he's been an absolute dream.
Your horse sounds lovely!
That fall must have been terrifying, was it a nasty one?
Know what you mean about winter 😩😂

AIDE2424 · 22/11/2018 06:29

I’ve just done a CB digital and on Sunday I got a pregnant 1-2 weeks and today I got 2-3 so I feel a little chilled out now xx

DartmoorDoughnut · 22/11/2018 06:35

I did a cheapie OneStep test last night and this morning and only got shadowy lines so I’m off to buy a FRER and a digi this morning and keeping everything crossed it was just a duff batch of cheapies

jq28 · 22/11/2018 06:49

@AIDE2424 that's great. I got 2-3 weeks on Sunday so gonna do another this Sunday hoping for 3+ to put my mind at ease as I'm having zero symptoms !

AIDE2424 · 22/11/2018 06:52

Dartmoordoughnut I wouldn’t worry too much, I’m getting really strong positives on clear blues and first reponses and the clear blue digital and boots own brad but on the internet cheapie the line was so faint as you can see xxx
