Starting a new thread as we near the 1000 comment mark on the Part 2 one!

It is nearly December and I am sure all we want for Xmas are healthy pregnancies and babies Star

Good luck to everyone still here and so sorry for how many we have already lost on the way Flowers

I'm with @Laburna that I'm too exhausted for sex! Plus agree with @Kentishgal that it was hard enough finding the time during TTC 😂

AIDE2424 · 21/11/2018 15:37

I told my parents already as my dad works away for long periods of time and goes away on Tuesday till after Christmas and didn’t want him missing out, told them with a baby grow and a pair of booties!

However I’ve just been for a scan and she can’t see any sign of pregnancy so feeling a little deflated despite my 14 positive tests. I hoping it’s just a little too early to tell at the minute 🤞🏻

Laburna · 21/11/2018 15:43

How far along are you @AIDE2424?

TwittleBee · 21/11/2018 15:46

AIDE2424 you are about 5 weeks aren't you? All that would be seen would be a sac and even then it can be hard to spot or you might actually be a bit earlier than you think. When did you take your last test?

@Twittlebee they are really excited! His sister is due in feb so they have 2 grandkids on they way. It was lovely but she had seen my anti sickness bands before we told them so his mum had a feeling!
And it occurred to be today actually about sex, but not even feeling it at all! Feel too sick for anything like that!!
Was feeling ok ish today but started to feel really queasy and headachey after lunch so just ended up having a nap. I did briefly enquiry with the midwife yesterday about getting anti sickness medication but she thinks I’ll probs only get them if I’m vomiting lots and there’s risk of dehydration. I don’t know if anyone else is on medication for sickness?

AIDE2424 · 21/11/2018 15:53

Yeah I’m not too worried, then scan wasn’t intended to check the pregnancy either, it was already booked to check my tubes and womb ect, I’ll keep positive, going by my dates I’m only 5 weeks but maybe earlier. The sonographer wasn’t very reassuring so that didn’t really help either but all is good I hope xx

TwittleBee · 21/11/2018 16:02

AIDE2424 maybe take another test just to confirm if you are worried but if she wasnt there checking for pregnancy she might not be trained in spotting early stages!

Meg1389 oh lovely that they will be close in age too!

AIDE2424 · 21/11/2018 16:16

I’ve done loads of tests the last one been this morning and all positive, she was a trained sonographer, just a waiting game now isn’t it keeping my fingers crossed xx

twosecs · 21/11/2018 16:20

Marking my place, nearly 9 weeks pregnant and can't get an appointment with midwife for love nor money! DH has agreed we'll just give up and have this baby in the woods instead (half joking)

Laburna · 21/11/2018 16:21

The second person who has gone for a scan unrelated to the pregnancy and been told off-handed mildly worrying pregnancy related things....

I realise that's not what either were there for and both seem relatively sensible in their response, but still, you'd think these people would know to be a little more sensitive to such matters.... 🤔

Giraffe888 · 21/11/2018 16:28

I’ve had horrendous trapped wind since about 2pm, I’m in agony. I suffer from IBS anyway and often get these pains but why am I turning it into something more?! This worry period is awful!

AIDE2424 · 21/11/2018 16:30

@Laburna why has this happened to someone else on this thread? I’m too not worried ( although just sent DP for another test😬) I’ve got a private scan booked for 16th December so hopefully there will be something there this time round 🤞🏻Xx

MyloC · 21/11/2018 16:30

Agree with you on sex life @twittlebee we’ve only done it twice since we found out but I’m just far too tired!
Sorry I cannot keep up with this thread at all Blush
Can someone tell me roughly how long the initial booking appt lasts? Mines is 19th December and I’m a primary 1 teacher who has a nativity to co ordinate that day!! If it lasts no longer than an hour I should be fine.
Don’t really want to have to change it in case it puts me after Xmas.

BettySwoll0cks · 21/11/2018 16:36

@Laburna yes I was thinking the same. It's a thoughtless throwaway sort of comment that sets your mind racing, and they really should know better

@AIDE2424 you are completely right, it was too early for the sonographer to comment on your pregnancy at all with any certainty (especially as, I'm assuming, you had an abdominal scan rather than an internal one?) so try and put that out of your mind x

Giraffe888 · 21/11/2018 16:37

@MyloC when I booked I was told it will be 1 hour x

Brainfried1986 · 21/11/2018 16:38

@itslilsebastian I was 5 weeks when I had my flu jab

Laburna · 21/11/2018 16:39

Sadly it has @AIDE2424, can't remember who it was....my brain is mush!

blueeyedviking · 21/11/2018 16:50

@giraffe888 I've got IBS too and I spoke to my midwife about it yesterday. I'm on prescription for it and can't take them while pregnant... She said to stay completely clear of trigger food and get as much rest as possible.... Easier said than done.

Does anyone have good tips for breakfast when nauseous? I've gone off porridge and can't tolerate egg at the moment... fruit doesn't fill me up for long.

ReginaPhalange89 · 21/11/2018 16:50

My boobs feel so huge and heavy today 🙈 as if they're not big enough already !
When did everyone's sickness kick in? I think I've a few weeks yet (hopefully)

Giraffe888 · 21/11/2018 16:52

@blueeyedviking did you notice your ibs being worse in the very early stages? I’ve just read it can be from the increasing progesterone x

blueeyedviking · 21/11/2018 16:53

@MyloC I had mine yesterday and it took an hour..

RooKangaroo · 21/11/2018 16:57

@ReginaPhalange89, I haven't had any sickness yet this time (I'm just six weeks), but last time I had it from 6 weeks to 22 weeks.

Very much hoping it's not the same this time!

ReginaPhalange89 · 21/11/2018 17:00

@RooKangaroo oh bless you that's a long time ! I have 2 girls and I had it from about 6-14/15 weeks both times. Really dreading it coming again ! Who knows maybe it'll be a boy and I won't have any 😂

Jxtina86 · 21/11/2018 17:04

@blueeyedviking I'm having ryvita crackerbread with a bit of butter and marmite. Appreciate if you don't like marmite it's not a good option though! It's always been my go-to when I can't face anything else as I always had it as a kid (didn't do toast or cereal!)

AIDE2424 · 21/11/2018 17:09

I’ve just done another 2 tests one digital one not and both very positive, if I go by my LMP then I’m 5 weeks but if I go by the day of conception ( I work away so it’s easy to figure out) then I’m around 4 weeks 3 or 4 days so it was probably too early to tell xx
