Starting a new thread as we near the 1000 comment mark on the Part 2 one!

It is nearly December and I am sure all we want for Xmas are healthy pregnancies and babies Star

Good luck to everyone still here and so sorry for how many we have already lost on the way Flowers

Haha @twittlebee I thought so too but I'm not sure I'll last til Xmas ! Still 5 weeks away. I think when my sickness kicks in and I'm feeling like death i might end up wanting to tell my mum!

Jxtina86 · 21/11/2018 12:53

@TwittleBee thanks! I will need to couple it with the sad news that we had to put one of our cats to sleep whilst they've been away too. I didn't want to spoil their once in a lifetime trip!

RooKangaroo · 21/11/2018 12:57

Some great ideas here about breaking the news to parents and family! The calendar one is lovely - I can just imagine the moment they suddenly realise when they see the July page Smile

My parents already know because I thought I was miscarrying at one point and we needed them for childcare while I went to the walk-in centre. Takes the glamour off a bit!

GiGi18 · 21/11/2018 13:03

Hello all! I've been pretty quiet on here the last few days but been trying to catch up. I'm working from home today so currently enjoying a lukewarm lunchtime bath and reading the thread.

So sorry to hear that there has been bad news for some, my heart goes out to you

For those with a lack of symptoms I feel you. Mine have all but disappeared apart from the sore boobs. I was feeling sick in the mornings until I ate and experiencing some twisting/cramping but now I'm feeling totally normal. Trying not to worry about it as I know symptoms can come and go but it's so hard not to focus on it. Currently 5 + 5 so maybe the symptoms will ramp up at 6 weeks ish. Trying to keep telling myself I'm pregnant today.

That's so lovely that some of you are having scans and hearing heartbeats already, must be so exciting! I'm still deciding whether or not to book an early private scan, 8th Jan is a long time away but hoping xmas/ny will make it go by fast.

I went for a weekend away with friends and couldn't get in the jacuzzi/steam room or have any alcohol of course. The hotel did a lovely non alcoholic mojito though. My friend didn't say anything but I think she surely must have suspicions! Got a few more social events to get through - it really is a bad time of year to be hiding it isn't it!?

Hope you're all having a good day, will try and be more active on here now! Xx

Meg1389 · 21/11/2018 13:16

We told his parents last night and it was lovely. Was nice being able to share the news after feeling rotten these last few weeks. I felt ok yesterday but starting to feel sick again today Sad

I too have been considering how to tell others.... maybe in a xmas card with a scan picture although not sure I’ll have a scan before Xmas day or getting cards with for example auntie and uncle or a cousin card for my niece and nephew. Did think about getting a personalised calendar and marking off the date too. Exciting Smile. I hope everyone is feeling ok xx

Brainfried1986 · 21/11/2018 13:22

@ReginePhalange89 Only tried on so far - will be wearing them tomorrow so will let you know how I get on!

TwittleBee · 21/11/2018 14:03

ReginaPhalange89 however you tell her I am sure she will be thrilled!

Jxtina86 oh that is sad news to come back to for them, poor lil cat!

RooKangaroo well least they are there now in case you do need any more support touches wood that you wont need anymore support though

GiGi18 hahah your description of your bath being "lukewarm" did make me chuckle, I miss my steaming hot baths already!

Meg1389 Aww were they excited?

So maybe a bit TMI! But, urgh, anyone else who hast really had sex since they found out? We done it once since and I just feel so aware that was weeks ago now. I know sex isnt everything but we did have a really good sex life (despite having a toddler too!) but I feel so bloated and tired now that we dont get the bloomin chance.

OP posts:
Laburna · 21/11/2018 14:13

No chance of that @twittlebee by the time DH is home and has put DS to bed, I'm going to bed myself! Far too tired for that sort of thing! 😂🤣

Delilah7 · 21/11/2018 14:19

I'm so happy.
9th Nov - 1150
19th Nov - 17936 😘

HCG LEVELS!

Jxtina86 · 21/11/2018 14:41

@TwittleBee zero action here! I just don't feel in the mood at all with the bloat and exhaustion. However we're going on hols in December so hoping that will bring back a bit of a spark with a change of scenery and relaxation of not being at work (which is also a source of fatigue for both of us - we've done 6months straight each!)

Belmo · 21/11/2018 14:47

I’ve fallen asleep on the sofa every night for weeks, no sex here!

cathyj87 · 21/11/2018 14:56

I'm away at a work conference in Cork, a 6 hour drive yesterday, and struggling to keep up with the thread! Bad night's sleep has mega caught up with me so I'm planning to skip a session and grab a nap before tonight's fancy dinner! I feel so massively bloated today I'm so glad I brought a stretchy floaty dress but the jeggings are torture atm!

Kentishgal · 21/11/2018 14:56

God no - we've barely found time when we've needed to do it let alone now! And to be honest, i'm too scared to let him come near me anyhow - I know it's safe but what with the bleeding I'm not taking any chances - I was bit sceptical about the internal scan yesterday!😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 21/11/2018 14:56

@Brainfried I just looked and they had 30% off! So I ordered a couple of pairs. Bargain if they're good!

cathyj87 · 21/11/2018 14:57

Oh and we've only had sex once since finding out and that was.coz I had a sexy dream and woke up in the middle of the night randier than I've ever felt in my life! Think he thought he'd won the lottery!

itslilsebastian · 21/11/2018 14:58

What's everyone doing in regards to flu jab? I'm thinking of booking one but I'm kind of scared to have it in the first trimester. Seen a bit of heresay online that it can cause early miscarriage and I just don't want to risk anything. If I got the jab and then miscarried I'd blame myself forever.

Onestep2 · 21/11/2018 15:01

@twittlebee i must admit that were back on the sex bandwagon after a few weeks of limited action.

And I must say.... It defo helps you feel better if your feeling shitty 😂

Brainfried1986 · 21/11/2018 15:03

@itslilsebastian I had the flu jab a few weeks ago, think I’m ok! It is worth having to avoid getting really poorly - has the miscarriage stuff been researched or is it scaremongering?

wombatron · 21/11/2018 15:13

Good news @Delilah7 !! Is there some sort of test for at home or are you back and forth for bloods??

Delilah7 · 21/11/2018 15:14

@wombatron back and forth for them which I don't mind tbh! Xx

TwittleBee · 21/11/2018 15:17

Glad it isnt just us struggling to fit it in, especially due to falling asleep on the sofa haha! Might attempt to make a move tonight as DH isn't at work so we can have an early dinner! FX haha Onestep2 hoping you are right!

itslilsebastian if you get the flu you could miscarry though I think? isnt that why they suggest we get it? Must admit I am shitting my pants about having it, not because of the needle but last 2 times I have had it I had to take a week off work as came down with what felt like the flu (odd I know as flu jab is inactive)

OP posts:
itslilsebastian · 21/11/2018 15:18

Thanks both! It probably is scaremongering I'm easily scared at the moment. How many weeks were you when you had it?

Laburna · 21/11/2018 15:23

Can't remember who was waiting for this, but I've just seen the first 'anyone else expecting in August 2019' post....

TwittleBee · 21/11/2018 15:32

itslilsebastian I actually never got it with DS as I was chicken shit from Flu jab previous 2 years... I will be getting it this year though with DS in nursery.
