@Welshshepherdess I wouldn't have thought middle names is too bad nobody will really know but it depends on what you're MIL is like and how well you get on.

Mine would tell anyone who would listen that they are named after them including the child regardless of how many times I would explain not the case which would drive me bonkers but she drives me bonkers anyway!

hayley013 · 14/11/2018 09:04

I'm having GTT this morning, feeling very bored and sleepy, and the drink has given me the worst heartburn 😫 roll on hometime for a nap xx

buthaina · 14/11/2018 09:08

Does anyone experience lots of side and back pain? I work at an office and I'm sitting down most of the time and that give me lots of pain but don't know how to deal with it. Trying to take breaks but it doesn't help unless I lay down which is impossible at work :/

hayley013 · 14/11/2018 09:12

@buthaina I'm suffering with back pain a lot at the moment, don't really have a solution though, other than Epsom salt baths xx

fizzledays · 14/11/2018 10:13

@buthaina I got one of the bump support bands from JoJo Mama and it does seem to have helped with mine a bit. Also, an exercise ball rocking back and forth and side to side gently eases it off too :)

Hello,
I am new to mumsnet and have come here to vent some frustrations and see if anyone can help me alleviate/manage these symptoms I am currently experiencing.

This is my second pregnancy and it is SO different to my last. I have been suffering with morning sickness (it can be any time of the day - especially at night) and I am 27 weeks. The last couple of nights I have been getting these awful headaches where my vision is blurry and I feel like my head is going to explode, so I just have to go to bed even if it is 8pm. Then I wake up with tummy cramps and start throwing up. To finish it off I've had 3 massive nose bleeds, 2 in the night and one in the morning. I called my midwife and she cannot see me until the 28th Nov, another 2 weeks away. So now I'm waiting for a call back from the nurse at my GP to see if they will see me today to check my blood pressure etc.

Along with the above, I have severe itching all over, I have been using creams like child's farm and Aqueous to try and soothe it but it doesn't help, it's especially on my feet and chest, it is so irritating and I don't normally have sensitive skin. I didn't have any of this with my last pregnancy and now I think oh how lucky I was!

Has anyone else experienced these? Do you have any tips on how I can manage it better to gain a full nights sleep? - I am shattered!

Thanks in advance,

MummyBM x

Notquiteagandt · 14/11/2018 10:58

@MummyBM get your dr to run bloods if you are itching. It maybe nothing but for me it was my first symptom of cholestasis. I feel for you with the itching. My legs and back are red raw from scratching in my sleep. Its a nightmare!!

I am also suffering with severe sickness too which is giving me nose bleeds. Dr said its just pressure on nose from being sick but also nose bleeds are common in pregnancy.

No real advise sorry but sounds like you are suffering Flowers id deffo go drs and see them rather than a nurse or midwife. As they can perscribe things to help.

Good luck!!

Baby160P · 14/11/2018 11:46

@MummyBM my friend was like this and had this

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/itching-obstetric-cholestasis-pregnant/

Definitely push for bloods

Yakadee · 14/11/2018 12:00

@MummyBM - I was very itchy in my first pregnancy and found E45 itch relief to help x

Surprisedmom · 14/11/2018 12:33

@buthaina I would advise you to get a back support for your chair (if you don’t already have one) and also for the car. I have one in the car and it’s made a big difference to my back - i’ll be keeping it post pregnancy too as they’re generally good for you.

@MummyBM I would say that if you can’t get to the docs call the hospital as the blurriness of vision sounds very concerning and can be a symptom of many things.

Yakadee · 14/11/2018 13:35

Sorry. I only skimmed the posts. Hope you're OK, agree with the others x

Baby160P · 14/11/2018 13:50

Time to see if the 'is it twins' comments can be justified. Off to get bump measured and see the midwife!

Lulabell1 · 14/11/2018 14:59

@mummabm i have all same symptoms as you minus nose bleeds. I itch every night try to have cooler baths/showers and keep body temp down. Nose bleeds can be because of increase im blood in your body the same with the dizzyness but that can also be a sign of low iron i would demand blood test if dr wont help take yourself up a&e and get one

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/11/2018 16:01

Thanks all that's reassuring, I think I will see what it's like when the Snuz Pod arrives. We actually still only have a double duvet on a king size bed so there's no exactly loads of excess covers anyway.

I can't see my midwife for my 28 week appt until I'm 29+1, as she is only there on Tuesdays and Thursdays (???) and I can't make the week I actually turn 28 weeks. This doesn't matter, does it? I know it's the bloods they do at this point but I'm assuming it won't matter that it's a week late. With it being my second baby I haven't seen a midwife since 16 weeks.

Baby160P · 14/11/2018 16:22

I booked the midwife today for my 26 week appointment and I'm 25+7

Only thing with this is they measured him and he is over the 100th percentile but she can't refer me as you have to be 26 weeks and they're very strict, have to go back in a couple of weeks and see if he is still giant!

AliceRR · 14/11/2018 17:47

I have pelvic pain and then yesterday and today got a weird pulled muscle type sensation on my right had. Side a couple of times

I think that’s just stretching but I keep worrying about movement.

Baby doesn’t seem to be in a proper pattern as I feel more movement / stronger movement some days more than others. I read that 10 movements in an hour suggests ok so was counting last night and got to about ten in 30-40 mins so thought probably ok. Have had movements at various times today and then down quite strong ones after lunch so think everything is ok but it’s so easy to get stressed about it!

halaz · 14/11/2018 17:50

28 weeks tomorrow, subway for tea as a treat & having bad nausea while waiting for it Sad

*Anyone else suffering with nausea again?
*
Mat leave starts in 2wks as I already have a 21mo & it cannot come quick enough. I feel like I have a lot to still sort!

Yakadee · 14/11/2018 18:00

@AliceRR - I had what felt like a stitch walking to my car earlier!

@halaz - I feel you on the having another kiddie to look after. I have a 2.5yo and I'm shattered. Unfortunately won't be finishing until Jan 😩

Lulabell1 · 14/11/2018 18:01

Ladies is there ANY paté you can have??? Im seriously craving it!

twiglet · 14/11/2018 18:07

@AliceRR 10 movements an hour?! I have a lazy baby definitely don't have that. I record about 25+ sessions a day. The kick-start app has helped me quite a lot in being aware of movement. It's done per session rather than individual kick.

@Lulabell1 you can make your own mackerel or veggie pate, can't buy them though due to listeria risk. All meat pates contain liver so vitamin A.

twiglet · 14/11/2018 18:15

@Lulabell1 this recipe is liver free forkvsfood.com/pork-pate just don't keep it in the fridge too long and probably reduce the amount!

Lulabell1 · 14/11/2018 18:22

Im not the best in the kitchen but i will give it a go because thats my craving its strange iv got the same one i did when i was pregnant with DD a whole 5 years ago! Paté and christmas dinner!

lanalawr · 14/11/2018 18:23

@twiglet don't worry about the number of movements in an hour. Different women feel it differently and some babies just aren't as active. I was lucky if I felt dd move 10 times in a day! It was worrying because I had nothing to go on to monitor her but was normal for me. The number of kicks per hour seems to be phasing out as a check in favour of patterns/working out what is normal for you and your baby.

Celebelly · 14/11/2018 18:28

I haven't been counting or keeping track specifically, I'm just aware that I feel movement through most of the day and if I've been busy and not really noticing it I just pay special attention for a bit. I'm aware of her much of the day now, though.

bubblybrit · 14/11/2018 18:31

Does anyone know if Anadin Paracetamol is ok to take? I know that paracetamol is generally alright and have checked the ingredients for Anadin Paracetamol and it only says 500mg of paracetamol.

Just concerned as I know you can’t take Anadin Original or Anadin Extra.

Got the worse pain in my mouth due to wisdom teeth Sad!
