I tried wearing flats the other day for work as my back was really aching, they just made it worse and they gave me a blister too.

Back in my 4 inch heels daily now until I find some nice enough lower ones (without being flat!).

I’ve worn stilettos out on an evening and been fine.

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 12:06

I just feel a bit clumsy pregnant. I’ve fallen down the stairs, walked into a glass door... So just sticking to flats altho not sure what I’ll do about the party

Since2016 · 11/11/2018 12:35

I also find flats make my feet swell more! I think it’s what you’re used to. The only time I’ve fallen over has been while wearing trainers.... 😳

Surprisedmom · 11/11/2018 13:36

I wore low heels to work once then had a bad back the next day so have stuck to flats ever since (and bought a new pair to match more of my work clothes). I do always buy flat shoes with a decent sole though (ballet pumps are awful for your feet a lot of the time). To be fair though I am a teacher so standing a lot and I think that makes it much worse than most jobs.

Just checking into the new thread...26+2 so just under 11w to go until babies will be here! Eek! Having a slight freak out at how I'm going to cope with 4 under 5, particularly as our 14m old is being spectacularly hard work at the moment, very clingy & whingey 😩 interviewed a nanny/maternity nurse yesterday to help me out in the early days so hopefully that will help but just made it suddenly feel so much more real that it's happening!

I haven't worn heels in forever...I live in flats, boots, trainers, flip-flops depending on the time of year!

Baby160P · 11/11/2018 17:08

@MrsY87 it's mad 11 weeks! Exciting though. Hope the maternity nurse interviews go well. I used to nanny a family just like yours... 4 under 5 and newborn twins and they used a maternity nurse before me.

I have to say they were in an amazing routine at 12 weeks old. Both fed at the same time either side of me laying on pillows to take their bottles and then both asleep at the same time. You got this!

emalady · 11/11/2018 20:33

@since2016 hope your leggings aren't too stretched now, it's sweet she cares about the baby!

Had the worst experience at Kingston hospital last night! DD is unwell and has been since Monday I didnt take her doctors as She had no sickness/cold nothing and then yesterday her temp was 39.2 so took her to A&E. Waited 2 hours as was busy they done bloods (very badly) took 4 nurses and then finally a doctor, a very bruised hand and lots of screaming. They also needed a wee sample so that took another 2 hours of waiting and not 1 thing was open apart from an unstocked vending machine i felt like i was going to pass out i was so hungry. Anyway after 8hours in hospital the doctors told me she has an infection but they dont know where from and they will call me Monday...we will see!
I only went Kingston because I was at my sisters and she lives opposite should of just brung her Epsom. The staff were so rude and unhelpful I had to also wait to give them another wee sample before we left as they lost the first one NOT IMPRESSED and I am homestly never one to complain!

Yakadee · 11/11/2018 21:22

@Lulabell1 - that's awful, what a worry. I hope she feels better soon x

hayley013 · 11/11/2018 21:48

Place marking

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 22:17

@Lulabell1 Sorry to hear you had a rough night. Hope your DD is ok x

I’m slightly bemused today by baby as I often find myself wondering what certain movements are and what is she doingZ

Today I have felt like I have an elbow or knee or something putting pressure on the front of my tummy slightly to my left of my belly button. It’s been a bit in and off and I’ve felt movements and then sometimes just pressure as if her elbow or knee or bottom is just sticking there and then when I press on it I can feel something and then I have felt her move around a bit.

It’s so lovely though 💕 looking forward to seeing her in 4D scan in a couple of weeks

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 11/11/2018 23:14

I’m trying so hard not to spend money unnecessarily... but I really want another scan! 😩

I don’t need one, I’m very happy with the movements, etc. so I don’t need reassurance, I just know that this will be my last chance ever...

Someone tell me I’m being a dick and the money would be better spent elsewhere!! 😩😂

AliceRR · 12/11/2018 06:21

Cabbage it depends why you want a scan or don’t want one

I haven’t had any private scans but we wanted to do the 4D to see baby and also thought it would be something good for baby to look back on and see herself in the womb later IYKWIM

But it is £79

I just hit myself in the stomach again. Not hard at all really but think it’s where baby is so baby started kicking and my belly must be tender cause it stung slightly but think that was just the skin 🙄

AliceRR · 12/11/2018 06:31

I think she’s fine, she’s moving around a lot

I really didn’t hit hard at all but felt bad as I seemed to knock a little nobble that was baby!

Welshshepherdess · 12/11/2018 07:33

I got knocked by the horse the other day, not a dangerous knock just a “can I rub my face in you knock” anyway I didn’t feel a movement for about 2 hours - I’ve never panicked so much!

I’ve got scans booked at 29/32/36 weeks and heartbeat checks every 3 weeks, it’s nice to see babs but my god it’s a drag to go to all the appointment on top of normal ones.

AliceRR · 12/11/2018 07:59

@Welshsheperdess oh gosh such a worry isn’t it. I understand they are very well protected in there but I do worry about little things especially as I could feel her little elbow or knee in that spot!

Good to have regular checks / reassurance though

Leonora94 · 12/11/2018 08:00

Place marking 😊

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/11/2018 09:05

Has anyone got the chicco next to me crib? Just wondering do the legs go under the bed, and if so.. how much gap do you need under the bed for them?

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 12/11/2018 09:05

This one...

Celebelly · 12/11/2018 10:31

We do (although it's the Dream version). From my research, they do go under the bed if you have a standard bed, but the crib also fits to divan beds so they can have the legs folded back and you use straps to attach to the divan instead.

We've finally bought a new car! DP's died a few months ago so we've been down to one, and as we live in a village it's been quite inconvenient sharing as he uses the car for work a lot. But we finally have bought a replacement - and it's big enough to fit dog and baby (because god knows the dog has enough stuff of her own while travelling so I can't imagine adding all a baby's stuff to the mix Grin ). Last big purchase we need to make is the pram so just have to see if it goes on sale anywhere in next couple of months! I'm almost feeling organised...

Baby160P · 12/11/2018 11:37

Terrible really but anyone else got that

'I don't give a flying 💩' attitude at work.

Any negativity and I just think.... I cba! Probably because I don't plan on returning!!!!

Celebelly · 12/11/2018 11:50

I'm self-employed so have to be motivated as otherwise I won't earn any money! But I did feel like that in first trimester when I felt like shit and basically spent six weeks lying in bed doing nothing. Now, though, I actually feel really good: I have loads of energy, I'm sleeping well, I never feel sick any more. I basically just have heartburn and am quite large, so I'm making the most of it by trying to get as much done as possible before I stop working in Jan!

Yakadee · 12/11/2018 13:07

@Celebelly - I just got a new car too - very roomy!

@Baby160P - yep! I'm counting down the days!! X
