I’ve been getting peptac from amazon which is a bit cheaper than gaviscon per ml. I should abuse my free NHS prescription. The Superdrug own brand rennies are fine too and you can get a 96 pack which is really good value!

I’m at the point where I think I need maternity PJ bottoms. I have quite a few pairs of shorts which are all stretched out and ancient but my warmer ones don’t sit that well under bump. I can’t buy button up sets as my boobs are too big. Think I need something super stretchy but not too warm as I’m like a walking hot water bottle!

AliceRR · 10/11/2018 23:20

@powkin that’s probably what I’ve got too.

I need maternity PJs too!

AliceRR · 10/11/2018 23:30

On an unrelated note does anyone know of any good pregnancy workout apps or YouTube channels? I have been doing very little / no exercise apart from the occasional walk and I’d like to do something.

I’m thinking something like pregnancy yoga at home or just strengthening exercises like planks and press ups and that kind of thing

But then also have PGP so not sure what I’m supposed to be doing / not be doing. MW to exercise and not to stop doing things but I know from experience that I’m in more pain if I’ve even just been standing too long the day before.

fizzledays · 10/11/2018 23:45

@AliceRR I'm doing a pregnancy yoga class every week and love it - also just going out and walking as much as I can 👍👍

Surprisedmom · 10/11/2018 23:48

@AliceRR and @Powkin I just went to Primark and bought some pyjama trousers a few sizes up and they seem to be doing alright for now at least.

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 00:18

@fizzledays I did a couple of preg yoga classes but then the teacher went on n leave to have her own baby and I just haven’t looked into doing it anywhere else but probably should

Yakadee · 11/11/2018 07:12

Yay, 3rd trimester for me today! (28 weeks anyway).

My heartburn is ramping up now too, worse in the night it seems. Do people find the medicines (rennies or whatever) actually work? Xx

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 08:30

I think rennies and the Gaviscon tablets do work but not for very long if it’s bad heartburn

twiglet · 11/11/2018 08:32

I definitely overdid it yesterday at the rugby kept getting excited and standing up too quick etc hurt a lot today!

@Alicerr I use freshly centered pilates for online stuff she has just gone on maternity leave so she had a load of maternity videos. Do not do planks unless you have continued to do them and still have the core!

I think knocked up fitness is another more work out intensive they have free downloads.

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 08:40

@twiglet I’ve probably planked about three times since getting pregnant! 😂

Yakadee · 11/11/2018 08:53

@AliceRR - thanks. Will give them a try x

sickmumma · 11/11/2018 09:04

Thought I had messaged on this thread then realised I had done it on the old one 🙈 baby brain is really sinking in. - I ran myself a bath last night but didn't put the plug in haha!

I am feeling surprisingly good at the moment, sickness seems to have finally stopped and managing to sleep quite well! I am a little way behind you ladies (24 weeks) but not looking forward to the dreaded heartburn kicking in! The last few weeks seem to have flown by and I know with Christmas round the corner time is going to go super quickly!

We're pretty sorted with baby stuff now, put a deposit on the buggy so really only got a baby bouncer, car seat base and a few little bits such as dummies, sheets and probably a few more little bits of clothes to buy! Feeling quite organised but I need to be as it's DD birthday a month after Xmas and mine and DH birthdays Feb also so will have expenses after Xmas still! Don't want to leave it all last minute and also don't want to be traipsing round the shops etc heavily pregnant!

powkin · 11/11/2018 09:18

We are waiting until after Christmas to buy stuff, not really for the sales but I’m hoping a big parcel might arrive from Ireland with clothes etc so I can figure out what we need. My best friend has offered to buy the cot it’s hard to ask ‘when?’ - I think because I once did maternity cover for someone whose baby was born 12 weeks early I feel quite uneasy leaving it all even though I know we still have lots of time really.

We got one set of those bargain cloth nappies on amazon but then reading it is clear you need way more than the one set so now not sure whether to buy more or wait to see how we get on with them.

Fredthespider · 11/11/2018 09:45

@powkin, we got the nappy set too, decided that we'll hold fire on getting more and see how we manage with what we do have. I think for the first little bit I'll probably use disposables anyway as they go through so many.

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 09:59

@powkin @fredthespider I got three sets of the nappies. At the time thought I’d keep two and maybe give one set to my friend who is having a baby in March but I will probably use them all!

They were a good deal but if you want more maybe look out for deals on Black Friday as they might do some good one. We can all keep each other updated on here for any amazing baby deals! I wouldn’t have known about the nappy deal if not for this group.

Rowse · 11/11/2018 10:23

@AliceRR I spoke to a physio about my PGP last week and she said not to exercise but to rest and support. I think keeping moving a bit is good but also knowing your limit of when to stop.
I do a pregnancy Pilates class and the teacher really understands PGP so alters certain exercises for those of us with PGP, I told the physio this and she said to carry on going, but if it makes it worse or I'm in pain the next day to stop going.
Made me feel a bit fed up the idea of resting and not moving around much for the next three months!

Baby160P · 11/11/2018 10:40

Anyone braved high heels yet?

I have parties the next few weeks and am wanting to dress up and feel 'good'

Bluelagoon25 · 11/11/2018 10:43

👶🏼

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 10:54

@Rowse That sounds about right. My MW told me to carry in doing everything but I didn’t think that was right as I was in pain after walking too much or being on my feet too much. I’m trying to be careful about what I do but feel like I need to do something as everyone says the labour will be harder if I haven’t been exercising and I’m used to doing something. I barely walk these days.

Since2016 · 11/11/2018 10:55

If you have suspected / diagnosed pgp just be careful with online courses - I do pregnancy yoga and there are various adaptations that need to be made to ensure you don’t make it worse!

I have back pain - sciatica I think - but that’s about it. Physically feeling better than at this point with Dd despite being bigger. Still in high heels for work - Not for commuting - but otherwise fine and still comfortable.

I fully intend to do anything I need for this baby 100% online once we’ve got stuff down from the loft! We have SO much I can’t see what else we need other than a new sling, but I would like to get a few nice babygrows. DD bday also a month after Christmas! 31st! She’s going to be ruined....

powkin · 11/11/2018 10:55

@Baby160P I was just looking at some (feet are too big for most of my shoes now!). Not high high. I want to look nice for the work Christmas party (14th December so going to be even more sizeable!) so was considering a nice dress and some shoes.

AliceRR · 11/11/2018 10:56

I’m avoiding heels. I wore some knee high boots with a chunky heel the other day to feel a bit more put together (I’ve been in flats for work and everything since day 1) but not sure id wear proper heels.

But have no idea what I’ll wear to Christmas party as I don’t feel done up in flats

Since2016 · 11/11/2018 10:57

Tomorrow marks my 6 week countdown! Starting to feel a little panicked... especially as it’s my full intention to not go back (I want a job in this part of london) so I feel a lot of responsibility to finish things!

Friends baby shower this pm - in Peckham. So that’s a 2 hour journey each way 💪🏻 Delightful....

Since2016 · 11/11/2018 10:59

If you’re finding your feet are too wide now for heels try new look / Asos / m& s for reasonable wide fit ones. I’m amazed I’m still in mine after my last pregnancy when I was so swollen v early but it’s much better this time save some early swelling / if I’ve been on my feet too much. Last time I gave them up in October (DD due end Jan) so v similar timeframe to this one (due mid Feb).

I don’t feel like ‘me’ in flats all the time - defintely not at work!!

Since2016 · 11/11/2018 11:04

😂 I’m currently walking around with a teddy tucked into my leggings - as DD has given the baby a teddy which needs to be ‘with her’.
