Thinking of you @Lulabell1!!

Yakadee · 04/12/2018 21:20

@Celebelly - thanks. Just over thinking everything now. I decided I was feeling less movement tonight so have been on my left side for a bit and she's kicking like mad - they don't half like to stress you out!

@Lulabell1 - apparently they can grow back but I agree to call just to be on the safe side. I think that paired with the tightenings and pain is worth mentioning x

Celebelly · 04/12/2018 21:22

@Yakadee Are they thinking baby is bigger than average or smaller for you?

I've heard so much about the inaccuracy of growth scans anyway that I don't really know what to think! Bit worried about pushing out a monster baby, but equally she could end up being entirely average sized.

Yakadee · 04/12/2018 21:32

She's said I measured the same today as I did at my last appointment 3 weeks ago. So I was above the top line and now today I'm under the bottom one. She said that baby feels low and very curled so thinks it's messing with the measurements. She said that she thinks everything will be fine but I have to be referred. The baby gave her a few massive boots while she was having a feel and she was laughing and saying she was strong so not worried. Obviously I am a bit.

It was a student midwife that measured me last time too so wondering if maybe the measurement could have been a bit out last time?

My son was 9lb2 and from his measurements it suggested nothing like that, more like 7/8lb. X

Celebelly · 04/12/2018 21:33

I think different midwives can measure slightly differently too - it doesn't seem a very accurate way to do things, especially when you're only talking about being 2-3 cms off!

Yakadee · 04/12/2018 21:36

I know! Suppose it's not easy to be 100% accurate but guess that couldn't send everyone for loads of scans? I'm glad I'm in pretty quick as it'll be on my mind but still wish it could have been today or tomorrow. It's at 4:30pm too on Thursday so have all day to wait 😩

Good job these baby's are so worth it - at least I can dye grey hair!!! X

sickmumma · 04/12/2018 21:38

@Lulabell1 hope everything is okay! I would def call the midwife but don't panic too much as the plug can reform and doesn't mean labour is starting! How many weeks are you now? I lost some of mine at 32 weeks with my son and he wasn't born until 38 weeks but if you are having pain I would def get checked over! Xx

detachablehoof · 04/12/2018 21:47

My privates have been really achy the last few days, especially in the evening. Kind of feel like I've been punched 🤔 anyone else experienced this? Not sure whether to be concerned or whether it's just things stretching in preparation for birth!

Also - anyone know what to expect at the 31 wk midwife appt? I have mine on Friday. (mainly want to know - will she take blood again?!?!)

Yakadee · 04/12/2018 21:55

@detachablehoof - I had mine today - no blood taken. The usual, sample, blood pressure and feel of baby / measure.

I am achy down below - midwife said today it's because baby is low x

Notquiteagandt · 04/12/2018 22:19

@Yakadee same I was having growth scans anyways for other reasons. But my last mw appointment I was spot on to the day. Today I was measuring 2wks behind and only grown 1cm in 3wks. Mw wasnt concerned though as I had a scan the other day. She said that the actual numbers mean nothing its more than they are changing. Anything thats a few cm either way is exspected. Alot of it is to do with position babies in. If your bladders full etc.

1st fundal measurement 50th percentile today 10th percentile. And my scan put me at 90th...!!

She said that its mear milimetres the differance. So there are so many varibles whilst measuring fundal they would never take it as gospal.

On my growth scan they looked at thigh length. Head measurement and stomach measurement.

I have another 3 scans booked in so we shall see what they say.

@Lulabell1 good luck Flowers be thinking of you.

DeliberatelyGinger · 04/12/2018 22:22

@detachablehoof I've got SPD and it feels like I've been bruised in the privates but it's all on one side. SPD is where your pubis has gotten slightly out of alignment because of the way everything relaxes.

detachablehoof · 04/12/2018 22:42

Thanks ladies - guess it's just one of these third trimester niggles!!

AvoidingMarking · 04/12/2018 23:15

@Yakadee I had a growth scan today. Measured head, legs, abdomen fluid and checked the placenta. Said my baby is on 71st percentile but with my daughter she was above the line one week and and below the line the next and vice versa. Scans became a pain in the end as I had to go every two weeks. They thought she was small (5lbs) and hadn't grown so I was induced on my due date and she came out at 7lb2.

I think it's good they keep an eye on it, but try not to worry as more often than not they are absolutely nothing to worry about.

Yakadee · 05/12/2018 07:02

@AvoidingMarking - I feel like I have grown for sure so agree with midwife that she's probably just all curled up in there. My first son was 9lb2 and although I know babies are all different I don't know if I 'make' small ones? Lol.

She's certainly very active and strong so fingers crossed it's all for nothing xx

powkin · 05/12/2018 08:13

I don’t have another scan until 36 weeks, feels forever away. I’ve been measuring a bit ahead with the old tape measure but she’s been holding off getting another scan and watching and waiting. I’m definitely growing, someone said I was ‘massive’ yesterday! I didn’t mind too much really as she’s very sweet.

I need to get some magnesium oil today as very fed up of leg cramps!

Alicejj8x · 05/12/2018 08:20

I thought I left this tiredness in the first trimester 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I guess it's a sign of things to come when baby is here!!

Welshshepherdess · 05/12/2018 08:33

Im 30lb heavier than I was in August! I’ve grown a bump and I’m pretty sure I’ve got a food baby as well as a normal baby in there. Measurements where spot on last scan another in a week.

Lookingforadvice123 · 05/12/2018 08:35

Lulabell1 I agree definitely call, they'll be able to check I think. Fingers crossed all ok.

I lost my plug last time, it was LOADS. More like snotty, bloody jelly (sorry everyone). So if you didn't have loads, or haven't continued to get more, could've just been a bit of random blood on discharge? I'm definitely more dischargey (sorry, again!) some days than others.

Rowse · 05/12/2018 09:29

@Fredthespider @bubblybrit @Surprisedmom Thank you! I read your replies just before we went in to the session and it helped have an idea of what we've missed- it seems all courses vary a bit but when I asked the other parents to be what they covered it all seemed very vague.

Rowse · 05/12/2018 09:30

@Lulabell1 hope you're doing okay and getting helpful advice from the midwife. Think of you Thanks

Rowse · 05/12/2018 09:30

Obviously, I meant thinking of you Thanks.
I'm still half asleep this morning...

maxiflump1 · 05/12/2018 12:22

How are you getting on @Lulabell1??

OP posts:
detachablehoof · 05/12/2018 17:26

At my 20 wk scan I was told I have low lying placenta and would have another scan at 34 wks to see if it's moved. I'm a bit past 31 weeks now and not had a letter yet. So impatient to find out what's going on!

Anyone else in this situation?

AutumnLee12 · 05/12/2018 18:04

@Alicejj8x Yeah same, I am beyond tired and I wasn't expecting it yet!

@Lulabell1 hope you're okay

Alicejj8x · 05/12/2018 18:23

@AutumnLee12 it's taken me by surprise tooo!! I think this is what's to come lol
