@Since2016 Hope everything is OK. I was in tears on the way in yesterday. It's a really worrying time, but you're doing the right thing and I'm sure baby is just fine and misbehaving like mine yesterday! Let us know how you get on xx

Welcome @AvoidingMarking!

I've just bought massive pants and nursing bras! Also a couple of cheap nighties for giving birth in that can just be chucked away after!

Since2016 · 02/12/2018 23:48

All fine thanks to those asking. Trace good and movements eventually picked up. V grateful to my sister for driving me there and back!! Massive relief as I’ve been worried but always best to check. Midwife lovely and v reassuring. This baby is going to send me to an early grave!

Yakadee · 03/12/2018 07:05

@Since2016 - that's great, such a worrying time isn't it. My grey hair has defo 'come on' since having my son. Expect to be full on grey by the time she's here! (I'm 31!!) xx

maxiflump1 · 03/12/2018 07:10

@Celebelly and @Since2016 glad to hear babies are all ok. It's such a worry!!

Another one here who is waking regularly to turn over as side I'm lying on feels heavy and numb. So sleepy....

Welcome @avoidingmarking

I'm also waking myself to change positions, got the pilates ball out of the garage and hopefully sitting on that in the evening will help a bit. I've had a work thing for a few weeks and couldn't go to yoga which is annoying.

I've got the basics of a hospital bag sorted. Not really sure how much of each thing I need but not far from home so DH can get anything I miss. I already have snacks for the bag!! 😂

Since2016 · 03/12/2018 08:51

I clipped the buggy on a kerb this am and went flying - poor DD got an awful shock as the buggy ended up on its side and I was on the floor. Baby moving fine now just got an awful shock. Please let this be the end of disasters and trauma for the week!

Since2016 · 03/12/2018 08:53

Ps. @yakadee re asthma. Have you had an appt with a respiratory nurse? I’d push for one. The asthma CNS that DD is under is a godsend - she’s been on flixitide (steroid inhaler) for a year now and we’ve just upped the dose with more improvements but we have a v clear asthma plan to follow - how much to give when starting to be unwell etc... so although once she gets a cold the coughing does continue for awhile it’s no longer the months we had last year. Sadly it took a hospital admission for us to really get on top of it. Hope he’s feeling better soon x

Since2016 · 03/12/2018 08:55

@celebelly isn’t it awful? I’m so lucky to have family nearby to call on as DH had to stay with DD. Logistical nightmare once there’s one at home! Glad you’re both ok too. Fx that’s the last time!

Celebelly · 03/12/2018 09:03

@Since2016 Oh no, you're having a tough time of it! You must be quite shaken. So glad baby is all OK though but take it easy today! Xx

Since2016 · 03/12/2018 09:25

I feel v silly but also still v teary. Thankfully my commute wasn’t too hellish as still got an early train. Feeling a bit pathetic! 3 weeks!

Fredthespider · 03/12/2018 09:28

Welcome @AvoidingMarking!

@Since2016 look after yourself!!

Notquiteagandt · 03/12/2018 10:53

@Since2016 oh no. What a shock. Hope people rushed to help you. I would tell work you had a fright just so you can keep your head down and hibinate. Nothing wrong feeling teary. Sometimes just need a good cry Flowers

Lookingforadvice123 · 03/12/2018 11:11

Since2016 that's really scary, so sorry to hear about your fall! I would've burst into tears straight away so feeling teary isn't silly at all.

Yakadee · 03/12/2018 13:03

@Since2016 - we were referred to the asthma paediatrician following a bad do and emergency appointment / steroids - thankfully didn't end up in hospital.

He actually didn't have too bad a night. I might have gone in about 7 times or so - inhaler etc but he went back to sleep and seems fine this morning. I'm at work today and my mum has him and has said he's hardly coughed at all today so hoping he's over the worst of it!

Hope you're feeling OK after your shock x

Surprisedmom · 03/12/2018 13:25

@Since2016 glad you’re ok and as everyone else said feel free to have a cry. I got very upset last Thursday and just stood sobbing in the shower before packing myself off to bed for a nap because I had clearly lost emotional control and needed it. Felt much better the next day but was inconsolable at that point over almost nothing and you have had some real shocks to upset you in the last 24 hours.

@avoidingmarking welcome! I’m guessing from your name you’re a teacher? Same here and baby shopping is definitely my number 1 marking avoidance tactic atm.

powkin · 03/12/2018 19:15

Sorry to everyone having a difficult day/week. I had a bit of a meltdown on Saturday after smashing hot soup all over the floor and almost started crying on the bus to work this morning. Today I have basically been starving all day and no amount of food will satiate me. Won’t be home for another hour. I think I might need more protein rich foods. My head has also been like cotton wool which has made today a huge slog, but I will count my blessings that I haven’t fallen over and have no sick children!

Lulabell1 · 03/12/2018 21:08

Does anyone else feel strange like their baby is going to be early I have this feeling i dont no why i just feel pressure low and a tight bump, shooting pains and really uncomfortable.

Yakadee · 03/12/2018 21:57

I have my 31 week appointment tomorrow and just realised I wasn't given a little tube for a sample! I assume it's ok for me to just do one there?

@powkin - some days are really tough aren't they!

@Lulabell1 - hope you're OK. Things are certainly starting to get uncomfortable for me too but can't say I feel the same. Hope you're not in too much pain x

Surprisedmom · 03/12/2018 22:00

@Lulabell1 I feel the same symptoms but like @yakadee said i’m not convinced it means he’ll be early, I just feel like it’s the 3rd trimester hitting hard.

@Powkin I hope tomorrow is better for you.

AvoidingMarking · 03/12/2018 22:02

Yes @Surprisedmom I am. Secondary English. I have a pile of books in front of me but I've been looking at baby classes I can do when I finish work for over an hour .

Rolling over at night is so annoying. Thankfully not at the stage yet when I need to get up to wee in the night but it's only a matter of time.

28 week appt tomorrow. tempted to take my 3 year old as she hasn't been to any appointments or scans and I thought it might be nice for her to hear the heartbeat but she might be a massive pain so I'm going to wait to see how she is behaving in the morning!

Also can't remember what they do at the 28 week one. Urine and measure bump I think? Can anyone enlighten me? It might be a silly idea to take her. I think I'll have a growth scan and GD test booked tomorrow too. Didn't have GD test last time. Has anyone else had it? Is it awful?

lanalawr · 03/12/2018 22:28

@AvoidingMarking My 28 week appointment was just talk through some things, take bloods and measure bump. I'm measuring big so they booked me in for GTT the following week too. It wasn't as bad as I thought. The drink was manageable but you have to wait around for a couple of hours after the drink. They told me they'd phone the following day if it was positive. I took my 2yo to the 28 week appointment because I had no one to look after her. She was so much better than I expected. I just made sure I had lots of stickers, paper and crayons with raisins as back up food bribery. She's coming to my 31 week appointment too.

AliceRR · 03/12/2018 22:49

I’m worrying about movement now. But I think it’s almost habit that at some stage in the evening I think “had baby moved much?”. I lay on my side for a bit and felt about 7 movements in 20 mins(ish) which is something but she doesn’t seem to be moving much even when I touch my bump where she is.

I’m now using it as an excuse to eat some chocolate to see if that helps.

But it feels like maybe she has moved position so that might be why 🤔

AliceRR · 03/12/2018 22:53

Chocolate 🍫 seems to have got her going a bit 🙂

AvoidingMarking · 03/12/2018 22:53

Thank you @lanalawr. The appointment tomorrow is in a children's centre nearby which has toys and things so I think I'll risk it. She keeps trying to hear baby through my stomach so it would be nice I think.

Thank you for info about test. This pregnancy is so different from last time!

AvoidingMarking · 03/12/2018 22:54

@AliceRR they recommend a cold, sugary drink and to lay still on your left for 30 mins I think.
