Feeling v lucky with sleep at the moment!

Re over bump - I’m finding under bump more comfy now as I’m massive so finding only one pair don’t dig into bump.

Alicejj8x · 29/11/2018 13:16

28 week appointment today went so good

Measuring 29cm and all in line with where I am now
She felt baby and babies head down thankfully as she was breech at my 4D scan last Saturday. Explains the huge movements I've been having!

Next up 31 week GP appointment it's all go now Girls xx

Yakadee · 29/11/2018 14:38

@Alicejj8x - I know! I have my 31 week appointment next Tues! X

Alicejj8x · 29/11/2018 15:44

@Yakadee
It's crazy how fast it's going isn't it :) good luck with your appointment xx

Lulabell1 · 29/11/2018 15:57

Iv never felt so uncomfortable in my life!!!!! Since i woke up this morning he hasent stopped moving and every move is hurting me, got a bad tummy and trapped wind not to mention shooting pains now and then down low and needing to wee every half hour glad im not at work today!

emalady · 29/11/2018 16:25

It's strange how much varies with area @alicejj8x and @yakadee we don't see the GP at all for anything routine. Don't know what they would do. Did have my health visitor around this morning though, got my red book which is exciting. Didn't check the crib or anything, planning to do that at the newborn visit.

Lulabell1 · 29/11/2018 16:32

@emalady Mines also all through GP its the same midwife who works at the hospital I will give birth in but I just see her at GP but it wasnt like this when pregnant with DD x

Notquiteagandt · 29/11/2018 16:43

@emalady I am worrying so much about health vistor appointment. Sounds silly I know. But making me anixious she will check everything and judge. What did she actually do?

I was told shed come at around 30w but not heard anything from them as of yet.

We dont have a 31 drs appointment here. Everything is through the mw and then I see the consultant every so often. But not due to see them again until 36w now dont think.

Have my 28w scan tomorrow. The nerves have kicked in. This is just with the sonogrammer MW I ashume as just a growth scan. Have to wait until 32w for my scan with fetal medicine. So unsure what they will actually if anything tell me tomorrow. Still nerve wracking though.

lanalawr · 29/11/2018 16:56

Everything here is with the midwife too (although happens at the GP surgery). Nobody comes to the house until the midwife calls the day after you get home from hospital/the baby is born if it's at home. HV doesn't seem to turn up until you're discharged from midwife care after about a week based on what happened with dd. What's the HV looking for at the moment @emalady ?

maxiflump1 · 29/11/2018 17:00

I've just had a letter through from my health visitor for a home visit in a couple of weeks. I really don't feel like I need it to be honest. The letter says that it's to introduce the health visitors and to signpost to local services. As this is my second baby (and they were to be honest pretty hopeless the first time round!) and I work in child protection I am aware what it available so I really don't see the point! Would rather they spend the time on someone who is is need of the help. Don't want to be seen as awkward though!!!

Alicejj8x · 29/11/2018 17:18

@emalady
Oh really! That is so funny how it differs in area I had a 25 week appointment with the GP also

I've got the health visitor coming round on the 7th December

Yakadee · 29/11/2018 17:42

@emalady - oh wow yes, HV - forgot all about that one! Hope they don't check my cot as room isn't even a little bit sorted 🤦‍♀️

When is HV supposed to come? I haven't heard anything yet?

It's crazy how different it is in different areas.

I have my son's nursery home visit tomorrow (he's starting in Jan, just 1 day a week until he gets government hours in April - currently my mum and Mil have him when I'm at work) so what started as a bit of a tidy round and vac turned into a massive cleaning session! I am totally shattered now x

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/11/2018 18:02

Had my 28 week appointment today, and all good and I'm actually measuring 27 weeks which is a relief as I was co convinced I'd be huge! Heard the heartbeat too which was lovely.

erykahb · 29/11/2018 19:53

_A bit crude - sorry
_
30 weeks exactly- has anybody else had really bad bowels!? Honestly I'm sorry about this. I've heard some mention they've had it worse in pregnancy but I've never had anything like this

I have a good diet, I'm just so uncomfortable and frightened to break wind Blush

Lulabell1 · 29/11/2018 20:59

My HV came at 18weeks, gave me my book she didnt look around the house just gave me lefleats and said the next time they will be in is when baby is here x

Squashbanana1 · 29/11/2018 21:08

Hello all

@erykahb yes I had really bad constipation a few weeks ago! Increasing your fruit and veg intake helps - bananas were my lifesaver as it was really beginning to hurt!!

I've had some bad dizzy spells recently ☹️ which has made me sick, the only relief has been lying on my left side. Has anyone else had this problem?

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 29/11/2018 22:13

I don’t think we get a health visitor come round here... not sure what they’d be looking for in this house, as all I’ve got is half a drawer of baby clothes and a cardboard baby box 😂

There’s no hope of buying anything else this side of Xmas 🤷🏻‍♀️

Surprisedmom · 29/11/2018 23:09

@Squashbanana1 I get dizzy if I get up too quickly and occasionally still get it in the mornings at work, but I know I have low blood pressure in the mornings and i’m on iron tablets so these are probably causing it. If the dizzy spells are quite bad (with no obvious cause like getting up suddenly) I would get your blood pressure and iron checked again.

emalady · 30/11/2018 07:06

@notquiteadandt @lanalawr She came over and just had a chat with me and DH. Gave me my red book. Asked about family history of eye/ear problems or development issues, asked about my mood. Basically anything that might need a bit more support. She also gave information about places with weighing clinics, baby groups etc, websites with information. She will do a house check to make sure the baby has a safe place to sleep etc but didn't do that this time as mattress hadn't arrived yet. Nothing to worry about.
@yakadee I'm 30 weeks and she said that was exactly right but a bit early to check the room.
@maxiflump I'm a doctor so pretty much knew everything they were talking about but think DH thought it was a bit useful and happy not to cause trouble!!
Really feels like the appointments are ramping up, guess it's because I've had HV and have consultant 19th plus midwife each 3 weeks now. Met 2 ladies yesterday who had their babies at 29 and 30 weeks, freaked me out a bit.
@squashedbanana1 increasing fluid and salt intake should help with keeping your blood pressure up and reducing the dizziness but if it's bad a BP check is reasonable.

Yakadee · 30/11/2018 08:03

These pregnancy dreams are something else! Had an awful dream last night, taken a while to shake it off!

I defo over did it on the cleaning front yesterday - paying did it this morning! Xx

twiglet · 30/11/2018 08:27

@Squashbanana1 yes but I have low BP as emalady said try increasing your salt I'm not great with salty food so have a bag of crisps each day. Terrible for the healthy eating but does help!

Thanks for the tonic water tip I have had a few nights of bad leg cramp.

My pregnancy insomnia has improved massively since I started listening to the yoga nidra sessions. It's very weird but as it works I don't care!

Since2016 · 30/11/2018 08:31

No HV here till post MW after baby arrives. Not sure I hold much stock in HV tbh. I didn’t get DD weighed more than twice and the one time I asked for advice I was told to let her cry - she was 4 months 👌🏻 I didn’t ask again! Glad I don’t have a visit not sure how I’d fit that in in last weeks of work I am swamped!

Since2016 · 30/11/2018 08:32

I’m fed up of appts. Have MW again in a week and consultant in two. Then masses of appts in jan that I’m going to have to juggle DD with. Sigh. Ball ache as I can’t park nearby so it’s tube and bus - serves me right for not going local I suppose!!

AmberRose17 · 30/11/2018 09:07

Leg cramp sufferers: I just wanted to share this tip, which has been something of a miracle cure for me (no I don’t work for them, it just has really helped!): www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002VPDX4W?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf&tag=mumsnetforum-21

I had a couple of incidences of pretty bad leg cramps in my first pg but much later. This time around I started getting them in my 2nd trimester and was getting so that I was scared of turning over in bed for fear of triggering them. My friend recommended this magnesium spray. It does sting a bit but has made a massive difference and I don’t seem to need it every night. I massage it into my feet and calf muscles and it really seems to relax my muscles.

Tonic water/bananas etc helped a bit but not as dramatically as this. Just avoid the one that is branded as being to ease sleep as it has Clary Sage which apparently can induce labour!

Surprisedmom · 30/11/2018 12:02

@twiglet on the salty snacks front for blood pressure I have the little bags of salt and vinegar snack-a-jacks to eat in class and they really help but aren’t too unhealthy (i’m more worried about setting a bad example for the kids I teach though as I eat crisps at other times). Salted nuts are also good, I just can’t take them to school because of kids with allergies.
