@Alicejj8x @babyp160 well I feel less gross now for saying that but that’s interesting that it can encourage early labour

@Alicejj8x I had a couple of days baby felt v active from this weekend when I reached 29w

My weekly worry this time is I just had steak for dinner with DH. He said he thought it was cooked through and tbf it was cooked I think but v v slightly pink (not raw) in the middle in the thickest part. I left the v thickest but worry I ate some of the slightly pink. I’m sure it’s fine but can someone just tell me it’s fine please? 🙄😬🙈

Yakadee · 27/11/2018 21:07

@AliceRR - you'll be fine. I'm sure I'd feel the same but you were sensible to leave the pink bit. X

AliceRR · 27/11/2018 21:07

Also anyone had burning feet? My left foot suddenly feels burning warm / hot. I’m assuming it’s another weird pregnancy thing

AliceRR · 27/11/2018 21:11

Thanks @yakadee x

Lulabell1 · 27/11/2018 21:13

@aliceRR my mum ate a runny egg sandwich every morning when pregnant with me and I came out perfectly normal i guessGrin

AutumnLee12 · 27/11/2018 21:20

@Alicejj8x yeah I can definitely feel him moving around much more now, before I would feel him enough not to be worried but not too much. Today especially he's been non stop I've definitely noticed in the last week more movement (or I just wasn't paying attention before)

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 27/11/2018 21:28

You’re allowed runny eggs anyway... and I have been having my steak medium rare (I usually have rare.. there’s no way I could eat it with no pink..)

AliceRR · 27/11/2018 21:31

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I’m sure I’ve read about people eating rare steak during pregnancy out of preference. I have always preferred my meats well done anyway and the steak was really only g slightly pink (like it looked cooked but was a touch pinker in places) so hopefully it’s ok but I worry about stuff like that

I think runny eggs are fine as long as lion stamped which most eggs are here if supermarket bought

Welshshepherdess · 27/11/2018 21:38

@AliceRR my feet keep getting pins and needles- proper annoying! Pink beef is fine we have the highest welfare standards in the world so anything that could could issues would not make it to the food chain

@Alicejj8x my bump can be seen to move throughout the day since about 27 weeks, little miss is a bit less active during day compared to first thing in morning however after accidentally bashing my bump with a leaver arch file today my sides where very much used as a punch bag.

powkin · 27/11/2018 21:56

@AliceRR steak is very safe rare, all the bacteria is on the outside and is killed very quickly, it is pink processed meat such as mince or sausages that you need to be careful to make sure is meticulously cooked through as bacteria can exist throughout.

Didn’t do A Level economics for nothing! By far my most useful A Level!

AliceRR · 27/11/2018 22:03

@Welshshepherdess @powkin Thank you. I’m a worrier as you’ve all probably realised!!

babyp160 · 27/11/2018 22:04

Anyone else have a emotional 'I'm going to miss my bump once he is here' moment? 🙈😂

powkin · 27/11/2018 22:15

@babyp160 I’m quite attached to the bump! Completely in denial that there’s a baby in there, I honestly can’t get my head around it. We had our team meeting on Monday and in Any Other Business I reported that a cup of tea can now rest on the bump!

Lulabell1 · 27/11/2018 22:25

@aliceRR i should of probably added my mums german and lived on a farm when pregnant with me very much doubt they were lion stamped ha!! X

AliceRR · 27/11/2018 22:38

@babyp160 I love my bump too but so excited to have baby

I feel like the time is flying by though! I will be 30w this coming weekend which is 3/4 through and only 10 w til my due date!

Feels like mat leave will be here in no time which is quite a nice thought (although slightly worrying in other ways)

@Lulabell1 🙂 Well you lovely ladies have made me feel much better! I know the risk is tiny and I occasionally stress out about these little things...

Notquiteagandt · 27/11/2018 22:43

@powkin I have lost 3 cups of tea this week doing that and shes sent 2 plates flying. Yeah she really doesnt like things resting on her space 😂😂😂 good kick on her though!!

I am probally a bit cruel though. Really amuses me when I poke her and she pokes back as if to say "oh just piss off will you!"

Celebelly · 27/11/2018 22:55

I just had to stop resting my tea on my bump as she kept kicking it!

Wames90 · 28/11/2018 06:07

@babyp160 I am going to miss him wriggling about so much when he’s here. I have been overly emotional the last week and can’t get over how quickly this pregnancy is going. I obviously can’t wait to meet him but I’m gutted I won’t have him wriggling about inside for much longer!

emalady · 28/11/2018 06:15

I've been woken up the last 2 nights with really bad cramp in my leg and ankle. Thought it would come later. Anyone else had this?

babyp160 · 28/11/2018 06:33

Glad I'm not the only one 💙

Yakadee · 28/11/2018 06:53

@emalady - I've been very close to cramp but actually haven't had it yet. I do however, have a sore leg? Not sure why but was quote annoying yesterday and in bed!! X

maxiflump1 · 28/11/2018 07:39

@emalady yes to the cramp. Right down the back of my calves and it's agony! Mentioned it to GP yesterday and she said make sure you drink lots of fluids, stretches before bed, drink tonic water as it has quinine in it which helps and put a hot water bottle on it when it's cramping. I tried all these last night after several nights of cramps and was definitely a bit better.

powkin · 28/11/2018 08:09

@emalady Luckily I’ve only had one really bad cramp which was in first trimester but I keep getting mini ones when something will suddenly cramp and seize up but then release again.

Definitely lots of fluids and also potassium - bananas, orange juice and potatoes are good sources!

I keep having very vivid but boring dreams or super weird ones. I had one where I had weird extra nipples on my hip the other night!

Surprisedmom · 28/11/2018 08:42

We have chickens so our eggs aren’t lion stamped but I think they’re probably ok.

@emalady at my pregnancy yoga one of the ladies was a midwife and she said opening a window or the bedroom door to get in more fresh air helps to reduce cramp. I’ve only had it once so far but since she told me that i’ve been trying to make sure my room is well ventilated before I go to sleep.

Lookingforadvice123 · 28/11/2018 09:00

Thanks for the advice on steak everyone, I'm officially changing my Christmas work meal order to medium-rare instead of medium (which is so boring!).

The risk with eggs is the salmonella rather than any risk to the baby, if I remember rightly. So if you get ill it'll be horrendous for you being so sick, but it won't actually harm the baby either way.
