@Yakadee - have any of the natural remedies suggested up thread helped at all? Sounds like you might want to talk to your GP or pharmacist about some things to try, or maybe look at humidifiers?

Yakadee · 25/11/2018 09:44

No 😩 I'm not convinced it is just congestion anymore 😩

Other than being shattered I don't feel unwell so have been putting off going but really don't remember it being this bad last time.

I think I'll take the day off tomorrow and get to the docs and get checked out - apparently not sleeping makes me miserable lol x

babyp160 · 25/11/2018 10:12

@Alicejj8x lovely pics, made me very excited for Saturday!!!

Notquiteagandt · 25/11/2018 10:25

I may well be in jan also. Got my last scan 21st. Said they will call it then on inducing me. Judging on how I am. How baby is etc.

My letter says come for your last scan and bring a bag.

My biggest fear for labour is being induced tbh.

Yakadee · 25/11/2018 10:34

@Notquiteagandt - is this your first? X

Notquiteagandt · 25/11/2018 10:42

@Yakadee yes my first Smile

Since2016 · 25/11/2018 11:24

Induction (I’ve heard) isn’t all bad a lot of friends have been induced and yes it will get painful more quickly and likely faster but tbh, Id rather that than 4 days of ‘early labour’ where you cant sleep and nothing is happening!

Yakadee · 25/11/2018 11:49

I was induced, wasn't my best experience however you do whatever you have to and really it's over and done with before you know it - not to mention totally worth it! 😍😍😍

Notquiteagandt · 25/11/2018 12:03

Exactly they will only do it for a reason. So its in babies best interests and thats all I want her in my arms happy and healthy.

Heard being induced >38ish isnt pleasant but barable. But

cw96 · 25/11/2018 12:05

My Mum reckons I'll be having baby in Jan too, due on 10th Feb and will be full term on my birthday (20th Jan) so she is adamant little lady will make an appearance then but we will see! Grin

Celebelly · 25/11/2018 12:14

I came at 38 weeks so my mum is convinced my baby will come at the end of Jan! We shall see...

Notquiteagandt · 25/11/2018 12:25

My edd is 18th feb. So if I go over. She could come in March. So basicly exspecting a baby in jan/feb or march 😂

But im sure scans will help me have better idea.

Lookingforadvice123 · 25/11/2018 14:43

alicejj8x lovely pics!!!

Since2016 DS is, ahem, challenging too lately! Wonder if it's an age thing? He's been an angel all his life so it was due Confused

I'll firmly be in February giving birth as due date is 20th February. DS came at 39 weeks but I'd had a sweep at 38+4. Hoping to have a sweep either just before or just after my due date this time rather than waiting until 41 like they usually make you...I'm terrified of induction but equally scared of going too overdue.

Since2016 · 25/11/2018 15:11

I had sweeps at 39 and 40, still went 6 days over. If they’re not ready they’re not ready!

@lookingforadvice123 same!! But oh my good lord recently... I’m exhausted!!

Lulabell1 · 25/11/2018 15:48

@since2016 totally agree with the if they arent ready they arent ready quote!

My bestfriend and SIL both had a baby 6weeks ago, SIL went into labour 8days eary and bestfriend was 4 days overdue she was very impatient and went up hospital demanding to be induced and they did. Long story short 18hours of labour couldnt get too 10cm very very painful and ended up in emergency csect.

So iv always told myself I will not push it as long as baby is happy and healthy in there then he can stay until 42weeks! Although they did say if im still measuring big 38week growth scan will induce me 40weeks and Im really not happy about that!!!

lanalawr · 25/11/2018 16:30

I thought dd would be early because I was born at 32 weeks. I think I was trying to mentally prepare myself. She was born at 41 weeks and the three weeks I was off work I drove everyone nuts. I was a complete cow and fed up because I didn't expect to be waiting.
Should have results of GTT tomorrow if it was positive. Got everything crossed it's not because I want to stay midwife led.

Lookingforadvice123 · 25/11/2018 16:44

I agree that sweeps are only effective if you're ready to give birth - they won't even do them if your cervix is still too high and closed. But it definitely sped things up for me, my labour started less than 24 hours later.

I don't want to be induced but the risks involved with going too overdue are too high, IMO. If I got to 41 weeks and still nothing, I'd be starting to get very twitchy!

twiglet · 25/11/2018 17:18

I'm not due to start maternity leave until 39 weeks so hopefully won't be early (due 7th Feb).

Just going to wait and see I have to wait for my 34 week scan to find out if I have to have a C section anyway so got used to not really thinking past the end of Dec with it all!

Yakadee · 25/11/2018 17:28

I actually had a sweep and the following day I was losing my waters (just a trickle) and the day after had to be induced because of risk of infection. The woman who did the sweep apologised that her nails were long so I really wonder whether she stabbed me? Lol x

AliceRR · 25/11/2018 19:59

@cw96 My due date is 10 Feb as well and my mother is convinced baby will come in January!!

She’s basing that on the fact that my brother and I were both born about 2 weeks early

Yakadee · 25/11/2018 20:07

I'm looking for new maternity jeans as my fave pair have a hole in the butt! Lol

I'd really like a black pair and a dark blue pair - over the bump and tall ( Don't want much do I?)

Any tips on good places? I got my last lot from newlook and I liked them but don't have much in at the mo.

Thanks xxx

cw96 · 25/11/2018 20:07

@AliceRR i knew I'd seen someone post on here with the same due date a while back but couldn't remember who, apologiesBlush! 29 weeks today and it's flown by!!

hayley013 · 25/11/2018 20:16

@Yakadee I got some from vert baudet and they are mega comfy but a little long for me so maybe good length for you, worth checking out x

Since2016 · 25/11/2018 20:20

Mine are from ASOS - tall and over bump. On their second pregnancy! I’ve heard good things about next too. Asos are doing 20% off this wkend too!

emalady · 25/11/2018 20:22

I really don't want to go overdue so I'm hoping that I go into labour before 40 weeks, if not induction rather than going post dates. I'm planning on having acupuncture from around 36 weeks to see if we can encourage things along.
