She’s moved something like 10+ times in 10 mins so hopefully she’s ok. I’m just anxious. I think they do have lazy days but I get something on my head and then worry

And now she’s either kicking or got hiccups 🙄

Notquiteagandt · 22/11/2018 21:56

@twiglet it can be a marker for severe dehydration. You body goes into ketoacidosis and starts to shut down. Generally by the time you get to 3 or 4 (mine have been 6 at highest!) You know you are poorly.

Dehydration is more dangerous in pregnancy.

Im not sure he science behind it as I hate googling stuff. But I know its what people on the keto diet strive for. Your body is basicly burning more than it puts in. So living of reserves.

Notquiteagandt · 22/11/2018 22:00

@twiglet but its more for if you cant eat or drink. Due to sickness etc. If you can eat and drink and healthy i guess its not an issue as you can just eat something and have a drink. So I wouldnt worry Flowers

twiglet · 22/11/2018 22:18

@Notquiteagandt thanks I am able to eat and drink I just don't really eat in the mornings until I've been awake 3+ hrs it makes me feel really sick if I try.
I haven't really been able to finish meals I don't really feel hungry but I have been having snacks.

Will try increasing my water intake as well.

Celebelly · 23/11/2018 10:37

Amazon has the Medela Swing single electric breast pump for £81.

Alicejj8x · 23/11/2018 12:04

@AliceRR
I am glad she is moving for you now. I always go on Instinct. She could of changed position and kicking towards your back also is what they said to me. X

Alicejj8x · 23/11/2018 12:04

We got our car seat the Joie Gemm £63 from £90 on the early Black Friday deals Wednesday :)

Notquiteagandt · 23/11/2018 13:40

When your elderly neighbor says shes going to knit a few pieces for the baby.

Then turns up today with a huge bag full of everything from cardis, jumpers, bonnets, blankets and booties.

So heart warming. Making me feel all emotional seeing how tiny they are and the love thats gone into them. 😍💕

I dont even know how to begin thanking her as it means such alot to me.

Yakadee · 23/11/2018 13:59

That's adorable x

Lulabell1 · 23/11/2018 14:29

@notquite @twiglet
It is quit common in pregnancy Especially if you are still having sickness like me she said its hard to balance it out im so active so im burning so much energy and not consuming much but im trying hard to drink loads yet my wee is still so dark!! Still not back up to pre pregnancy weight which is why i find it so hard to beleive im having a “big” baby

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 23/11/2018 14:53

I've spent my black friday getting a car seat (joie every stage) and ordered our new breast pump and storage pots! Went for the Hegen ones in the end. I just love the look of them and the convenience of a post that turns from storage straight into a bottle will just be so much easier when leaving baby.

Well, had my consultant appointment about having a section this afternoon. No fight whatsoever! I have my appointment to get booked in at start of Jan. She was absolutely horrified that I didn't have pain relief for the bleeding / stitches and was very sympathetic. I'm so relieved x

Surprisedmom · 23/11/2018 16:07

Is anyone else taking iron tablets? The ones the MW gave me at 18 weeks really upset my stomach so I started taking liquid iron instead. I told my midwife this at my next appointment and she seemed fine with it. They didn’t test my iron levels again until last Sunday and only just called me (almost a week later!) telling me they’re at 89, which is really really low. I feel fine and was expecting a call much sooner if there was a problem 2bh. Now I have to rush off to the doctors this afternoon as apparently only they can prescribe me iron tablets that won’t tear my stomach to shreds.
I’m a bit upset to be honest that they didn’t check my iron for 10 weeks, but mostly just kicking myself for not always remembering to take my iron (it’s just been hard as I can’t eat for an hour before or after taking it, I don’t have any time in between classes at work and I get in from work shortly before I need to eat dinner then tend to snack throughout the evening). I know it’s mostly my fault but I really don’t understand why they waited 10 weeks to check my iron again then waited a week to give me the results. The MW on the phone seemed really annoyed with me and was quite patronising and I felt like saying ‘I told you I was only taking liquid iron, why did you say that was ok when it clearly isn’t!’.
Sorry for the rant i’m just quite upset over it all and annoyed with myself for not keeping my iron levels up properly.

maxiflump1 · 23/11/2018 16:14

@Yakadee so pleased you manage to get a section with minimal fuss. It feels like a big relief after a traumatic birth doesn't it?! Welcome to the ELCS club!

@maxiflump1 - really! I cried for pretty much the whole time so totally shattered now lol. She was so lovely, really sympathetic and made me feel as though it was totally my choice. She did tell me the risks (which I already knew as had done research) but wasn't pushy in anyway x

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 23/11/2018 17:22

@Surprisedmom your midwife should not have spoken to you like that.

I had a horrid midwife with DD who spoke down to me and told me I had no idea what I was doing.

If suffer from anemia a lot normally. Always have done so take iron tablets an dtbey aren't nice.the ones the doctor can give you aren't as bad so I'd say visit them and give it a go.

Surprisedmom · 23/11/2018 17:41

@Thesnobbymiddleclassone thanks. My doctors were lovely and gave me an immediate appointment so i’m in the waiting room now. I did argue back with the midwife a bit to be fair as I thought she was in the wrong - I think she might be the same one who took my bloods once and failed to get the vein. I’m very glad she’s not the one I generally deal with.

Since2016 · 23/11/2018 19:10

Oh that’s wonderful news @yakadee I’ll Bt glad to get my appt over with - not till December!!

Yakadee · 23/11/2018 19:37

@Since2016 - the wait is a killer.

The woman I saw was great. I did loads of research - have a look on NHS. I found the info on there about risks really helpful x

AliceRR · 23/11/2018 22:28

Just wondering... those of you having 4D scans, would you share the pics with family and friends or keep them to yourself?

I’m having 4D scan tomorrow and a friend / colleague said “send me pics!” in a blase kind of way and I thought I’m not sure I’d want to share them.

DH said on the way home his colleague is expecting to see the pics too and I just feel like it’s a personal thing.

I feel a bit like that about my scan pic generally and even people I’ll show it to, I’d rather just show them, than send it to them as I don’t want them to have it saved on their own phones or whatever (unless it’s my mother or something)

Is that weird??

I think it’s weird isn’t 🙄

Surprisedmom · 23/11/2018 22:40

@AliceRR I don’t think there’s any right or wrong regarding sharing the pics it’s what you’re comfortable with. Personally I would feel odd sharing pictures of my womb and baby with work colleagues I wasn’t close friends with, but then I also haven’t shared any on the internet either. I don’t think it’s wrong that other people do and I even quite like seeing people’s little ones, I just don’t feel comfortable sharing them myself.
So if you feel odd about it, just tell your work colleague you’re not sharing them as they are a bit too personal.

Lulabell1 · 24/11/2018 09:04

I had super itchy feet last night top and bottom iv made myself bleed!

AliceRR · 24/11/2018 10:06

@Surprisedmom I’m the same about putting things online / Facebook etc as well. You reply made me laugh as it sounded just like me - I told DH “I don’t think I need to share pictures of my uterus with people we work with!” Having said that, I might feel differently after the scan.
