@powkin - (or anyone else suffering) re congestion. It sounds like that's what I have (3rd night in a row with hardly any sleep). I'm sorry to ask as know it's totally gross, but what colour is your mucous (if you've looked). Sorry for tmi but mine is a ridiculous green colour - just wondering if that's normal? Xx

powkin · 22/11/2018 08:15

@Yakadee - that sounds like you might have a sinus infection. Mine is mainly clear (although during a cold it was a delightful rainbow of all sorts).

I’m in the desperately need to sleep club. Woke up at least 6+ times last night which is even worse than usual. I don’t know what to do :(

DeliberatelyGinger · 22/11/2018 08:16

@emalady my DH has had the same trouble. He's now taken to calling the baby Groot (cos when Groot is dancing in the plant pot he stops anytime someone is looking). No idea how to resolve it though.

Yakadee · 22/11/2018 08:27

@powkin - Yeah I wasn't sure it was right? Is there any point going to the docs? I doubt there's anything they can do / give me to help?

I'm really struggling with sleep too - it's awful isn't it. I also have no idea what to do. I have my consultant appointment tomorrow about having a section and could really do with a good nights sleep so I have a clear head / don't look like a zombie! Xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 22/11/2018 08:32

I’m congested... it’s generally red! Stupid nose bleeds haven’t yet fully stopped 🙄

My other half slept downstairs last night, he’d had enough of my snoring 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Yakadee · 22/11/2018 08:35

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - oh no!! They're awful x

Lulabell1 · 22/11/2018 08:56

I have the worst congestion too. Iv got bad belly ache today i have midwife today hope she can tell me where hes positioned x

powkin · 22/11/2018 09:23

@Yakadee you might need some antibiotics/antibiotics may help - did you have a cold before it started? Otherwise the old inhalation and saline sprays are all you’ve got to battle it! Trying to keep everything open so it can drain is all you can do Confused. I had to have an operation on my nose about 10 years ago because of it so I’ve become an expert on nose-based misery!

I don’t know why I’m waking up so much other than it’s like my body wants to keep checking I’m sleeping the right way... also had a bit of heartburn... but it all feels very unnecessary! I can still remember one blissful night’s sleep a few months ago...

Sleeping tablets in 3rd trimester are not the most dangerous so even if the GP can give you one or two it might be worth it if you’re really struggling. I always figure not sleeping is probably worse for baby than a lot of the things we’re told are dangerous!

Alicejj8x · 22/11/2018 09:26

Argh I am slowly freaking myself out for this 4D scan on Saturday morning

I've got no need to worry as baby seems ok in there too me. Moving at her usual times and how she usually would but I just have for myself so worried I'll go to the scan Saturday and they will say oh she hasn't grown or this & that! Anyone else worrying

Yakadee · 22/11/2018 09:33

@powkin - I'm torn as other than feeling really snotty and tired I don't feel unwell. Might see how I go on tonight and go tomorrow if still bad. Didn't have a cold before, although thought this was a cold but doesn't feel the same?

Poor you with the nose op - I'm pretty lucky, never really had many issues with this kind of stuff until now (although was congested in my first pregnancy and don't remember it being this bad?).

Thankfully I've finished work for the week now, I know I've been overdoing it. Xx

AliceRR · 22/11/2018 10:03

@sickmumma 30 weeks is absolutely fine I think

@bubblybrit I had read having a cold drink just before might get baby moving

@babyp169 That’s the deal I’ve got booked too

I’m also tempted by a heartbeat bear, which I think they do

@Alicejj8x I’m not worried about the scan but keep worrying about movements again. Not sure I have reason to as baby isn’t in a proper pattern yet so it tends to be that a few hours go by and then I get a lot of movement to reassure me! Hopefully that will come soon

I’ve found she moves a lot when I move positions if I’m awake in the middle of the night but I haven’t woken up the past two nights so haven’t felt that. I have felt movement but obviously sometimes more than others and I find “big” movements reassuring!

I also think she was moving find yesterday but then I went to bed and started thinking about it and couldn’t remember so started worrying!🙈

twiglet · 22/11/2018 11:08

@Yakadee I've had pregnancy insomnia for quite a while now it sucks! I found doing yoga nidra when I got into bed has helped massively. You just listen to it bit like meditation. It's a bit strange at first but gone from 2-3 hrs sleep to nearly 6 in about 2 weeks!

There are pregnancy specific ones on utube which are free.

Yakadee · 22/11/2018 13:05

Aww @twiglet - you poor thing! I'm glad you've found a way to make it a bit better x

Alicejj8x · 22/11/2018 13:46

@AliceRR
I no what you mean I hve a few times like
That but then I remember they are allowed to have lazy days like us so I always have a fizzy or cold drink then lie on my left or sit still and then she gets moving xx

emalady · 22/11/2018 15:31

@yakadee I wouldn't bother going to the GP with sinusitis unless you are feverish /unwell. It can last 3 weeks normally but likely to be worse in pregnancy/ last longer as we are immune suppressed. They are unlikely to give antibiotics and you may well pick up more bugs in the waiting room!!

@powkin Sleeping tablets probably won't help much, good at knocking you out, rubbish at keeping you asleep. Yoga /mindfulness /good support is going to achieve much more. Not generally dangerous unless you deliver shortly after taking them when you will have a sedated baby.

@deliberatelyginger I like the groot reference! I assume it will get better as the babies get bigger. Must be very strange being the non pregnant one but knowing that a baby is going to appear in not too long! It's wierd enough when you can feel them!

Yakadee · 22/11/2018 16:32

@emalady - thanks, I decided to leave it and just see how I went anyway. I'll see what I'm like tonight, fingers crossed it's on its way out sometime soon! Xx

bubblybrit · 22/11/2018 16:46

Oh I might try that then @AliceRR. I really want a good picture as it’s DH birthday a few days later!

Lulabell1 · 22/11/2018 18:08

So i had midwife today i got +1 keatons in my wee but she said Im not worrying about it as Ino youv been unwell and too keep drinking plenty of water she is however worries about my weight so im seeing her again in 2 weeks as doctor is going to subscribe me some anti sickness because Im still being sick. Baby seems all good his heartbeat was strong and hes head downSmile

I had a bath with a little olbas oil in it this evening and its made me feel a lot better to anyone suffering Flowers

Notquiteagandt · 22/11/2018 19:50

@Lulabell1 hospitals here wont admit for fluids until ketones are over 3. I found ketosticks I ordered off amazon handy to keep an eye on my levels. If you so wished.

Until I got my meds dosage right and managed to keep something down. I found ice lollies, melon, jelly really good for getting my fluid intake up. Was living off them.

Notquiteagandt · 22/11/2018 19:51

Black friday 15% off everythig on natural baby shower. If anyones inteested.

Ive not had chance to look around much. But has anyone seen any good deals anywhere?

emalady · 22/11/2018 20:46

@notquiteadandt not seen too much, seems a bit disappointing this year generally.

AliceRR · 22/11/2018 20:55

@Alicejj8x Yes it’s nust difficult isn’t it. She’s a been moving throughout the day by not loads. But then I’ve had a few days like that and then she’s got moving at some point and I’ve stopped worrying

Alicejj8x · 22/11/2018 21:04

@AliceRR that's the thing and they still have space to move and change position atm
Don't they but it's so so worrying xx

AliceRR · 22/11/2018 21:09

@Alicejj8x I’m still worrying a bit as she’s not v active but she has been moving. My instinct is that she is ok 🤔 If I’m worried in the morning I’ll call MW

twiglet · 22/11/2018 21:21

@Notquiteagandt why do they admit for ketones? I had ketone ++ at my 28 week appointment, midwife asked when I did the sample and told me to have something to eat before bed?!
