Thanks, I just need sleep! X

@celebelly

I’m going for a scan on Saturday as I’m measuring 32 weeks at 27+5.
I have many friends who have been through this (a rough guess.. 10-15?) and whatever they were told, the opposite happened! So I hold no faith in growth measurements/scans.
Looking forward to the extra scan though 😊

Rowse · 21/11/2018 11:24

@Celebelly My bump was measuring 30 weeks at 28+5 on Monday, so very similar to you.
I already had a growth scan booked for another reason for Tuesday and when they measured the baby was bang on the average range and totally the 'right size' for my height and gestation.

I think scans are more accurate as they don't measure the fluid etc which the bump measurement includes. And I also spoke to a midwife yesterday who said it's very common to have growth spurts or slower growth at this point and it isn't much to worry about.

Hope you have some peace of mind from the scan, it's also lovely to see them again!

Celebelly · 21/11/2018 11:45

Thanks, ladies! Thanks

lanalawr · 21/11/2018 11:58

@Celebelly @NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking And others of you who are going straight to growth scans for bigger bumps - have you already had GTT? I measured 32 weeks at 28 week appointment but am being sent for GTT. If still measuring big later I'll have a growth scan apparently but they do GTT first here.

Celebelly · 21/11/2018 12:04

No, I haven't had GTT. I guess they might do that if baby really is measuring larger on the scan.

babyp160 · 21/11/2018 12:04

@lanalawr measuring big here but I have a consultant next Wednesday to check and then it'll be a growth scan.

I have had a GTT already and all fine but as MIL likes to frequently remind me.... all the boys on my OH side of the family have been 10+ lb!!

Celebelly · 21/11/2018 12:08

My midwife just this second rang to tell my scan is noon on Monday! I'm so lucky we have a local community hospital as they seem really quick with scan dates and there's never any wait.

AliceRR · 21/11/2018 12:56

Anyone else having / had a 4D scan?

We are going on Sunday

AliceRR · 21/11/2018 12:56

Saturday, even!

babyp160 · 21/11/2018 13:01

@AliceRR we do on the 1st! Let me know how it goes!!!

Alicejj8x · 21/11/2018 13:38

@AliceRR
Yes I have mine on Saturday at 9.30am :)

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 21/11/2018 14:42

No GTT here, no glucose in urine, and no risk flags 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hopefully I’ll get away with not needing one.. had it in both my previous pregnancies, it was horrible 😩

Not having a 4d scan, was offered at a private scan.. but declined, I find them a creepy 😬

bubblybrit · 21/11/2018 14:46

@AliceRR. Mine isn’t until the 9th. Can’t wait. No one I know has had one so not too sure what to expect. Would be nice to see some of her features though!

Welshshepherdess · 21/11/2018 15:17

@Celebelly I’ve just had my growth scan 29+1 and just below 50th percentile. Midwife measurements where at 28wks where just above 50th. Currently weighs about 3lb so quite happy. My scans are precautionary due to thyroid issues but it’s interesting as DS was large however this one is distinctly average. lovely to see little princess spent the whole time chewing and licking her foot! 🤷‍♀️

welshweasel · 21/11/2018 15:43

I was measuring small for 28 weeks, but growth scan was fine. Last time I measured spot on but baby had v little fluid and was very small. I don’t believe in fundal height measurements!!

AliceRR · 21/11/2018 15:51

@babyp160 @Alicejj8x @bubblybrit Mine is at 11 am on Saturday - really excited! DH is excited too as I think he feels a bit left out as I get to feel her kicking and moving around every day and they are not really part of that apart from the odd belly touch when she chooses to oblige!

Alicejj8x · 21/11/2018 16:03

@AliceRR it's so exciting isn't it I can't wait for ours now just 3 days to go! Xx

bubblybrit · 21/11/2018 17:07

I wanted mine a little earlier @AliceRR but the 9th is the closest weekend to DH birthday so will be a nice treat for him! X

lanalawr · 21/11/2018 17:10

That's interesting @NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking. I don't have any risk factors or glucose in urine. Apparently measuring big was enough to refer me for GTT. I wouldn't be having one otherwise.

AliceRR · 21/11/2018 17:25

@babyp160 @Alicejj8x @bubblybrit I’m going to Window to the Womb for mine and on the website it says something like to drink an extra two glasses of water per day for the week before - do you know anything about that?

🤷‍♀️

Jenn12 · 21/11/2018 17:37

@AliceRR I had my 4d scan with window to the womb last night. Didn't drink any more water than I normally do and scan was very clear.

I wasn't so sure about the 4D scans but glad I went ahead and booked it. Pictures are amazing of baby. Even more excited to meet him now!

AliceRR · 21/11/2018 17:41

@Jenn12 aww lovely!

sickmumma · 21/11/2018 18:13

How many weeks is the ideal for the 4d scans? I am thinking of asking for one for Xmas when I will be 30 weeks so not sure if that would be too late?

bubblybrit · 21/11/2018 18:36

I’m going to Babybond for mine @AliceRR. I’ve been told to drink a half glass of water about an hour beforehand x
