@powkin same here! Feel like I've got a monkey positing a drum kit in my tummy!! Have been having a chat with him and he's been reacting to my voice... So cute!

Camsie30 · 19/11/2018 22:51

"playing" stupid fat fingers...

Yakadee · 20/11/2018 07:44

Morning ladies.

I'm feeling a bit awkward about work. I will day last week and yesterday I feel rubbish as the lights etc were making my eyes sore and making me feel sick. I've had this before, I do have sensitive eyes and wear specs for exactly this.

So, I've obviously dimmed the lights and my screen and it still kills my eyes! I was talking to a guy at work (not my boss but I'm currently working for him) and he made a comment about me going to the docs. I feel that's a waste of time personally as think it's the lighting in work but called and the receptionist suggest I see a doctor if anything, to cover my back.

So, I worked from home yesterday afternoon and will call the docs this morning. As it turns out, I hardly slept last night and feel like crap this morning (although doubt it's linked) and I don't know what to do. I get the impression this guy won't be very impressed if I don't go onto work?

I know there's nothing anyone can do but feeling quite awkward now 😩

bubblybrit · 20/11/2018 08:35

I’m also feeling awkward at work @Yakadee. I’ve got backache and rib pain so really uncomfortable to sit at work all day. Paracetamol doesn’t do much so by the afternoon I’m in agony. Went home early yesterday but heading to work this morning even although I don’t feel any better! Will see how today goes but will be leaving early again if I need to.

I think you need to put yourself and baby first. Pushing yourself too hard won’t do either of you any good.

Hope you feel better soon x

Surprisedmom · 20/11/2018 08:41

@Yakadee I would say if you’re not well then don’t go into work and your boss will have to accept it - but in all fairness I don’t know your boss or work situation.

I got myself into a minefield of the web this morning googling things. I suddenly had a panic that I was eating too much sugar when I saw the sugar % on the little juice carton I take to work. I drink watered down apple juice all day and have a glass of orange juice in the morning, plus eat loads of fruit as it’s my main craving. I’d previously just thought fruit was good for me but then I got thinking about the sugar content and foolishly started googling. The internet seems to tell me it’s both good and bad to eat so much fruit when pregnant, so I feel like I just probably shouldn’t have googled it at all 🤷‍♀️

Alicejj8x · 20/11/2018 09:42

I have my 28 week appointment next week and then mine are every 2 weeks

Yakadee · 20/11/2018 10:04

Well, went to the docs and all ok. Just have a rubbish cold again. She said I should take breaks, drink plenty etc.

She said he's probably just being a bit ott x

AliceRR · 20/11/2018 11:55

@Surprisedmom I’m worried I eat too much sugar, but not fruit, chocolate!

I eat the same as I did before though, no more since pregnanct. Think I eat the same genderally.

Downloaded Squeezy app and think it’s really good!

But does anyone know how many times a day etc we need to do it for? I’ve just sort of set it up on guess work

Plus I’m sure I read someone saying her muscles down there were v tight during childbirth (ie both helpful)

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 20/11/2018 12:08

I do the Squeezy app, three times a day (when I can fit it in... I’m rubbish!) You’ve reminded me I’ve not completed my 10 o’clock squeeze!

Had my 28 week appointment today (am 27+5 today), I was measured on Thursday (went in for monitoring) and was measuring 29/30 weeks (30 by student, 29 by qualified midwife), today I’ve measured 32 weeks so they’ve booked me in for a scan on Saturday. Not so much worried about anything, more looking forward to seeing my little monster again!

Lulabell1 · 20/11/2018 18:36

Mission baby stuff complete! Got our last bits in mothercare black friday sales today, crib mattress, bedding and a sleepyhead. Now i can focus on DD birthday and Xmas its never ending!!

Surprisedmom · 20/11/2018 20:56

Well done @Lulabell1 - i’m fairly near completing my spreadsheet, but deliberately now leaving things until January incase they’re in the sales then.

emalady · 20/11/2018 21:01

@lulabell1 wow! Well done. Each time I think we are almost done I think of another load of stuff. At the moment have written a wish list including mattress and sheets so will see if we get any of it for Christmas or gifts before we buy much more.

Lulabell1 · 20/11/2018 21:20

@suprisedmom I was going to do the same but the last bit we had to get were not big bits anyway I would of waited till Jan sales to but pram but we ended up getting a managers special on the Icandy in mothercare so I said to DP lets just finish it all by Xmas very anxious as DD came 4 weeks early just before Xmas and I had no time for christmas shopping so mentally prepared myself this time just incase this ones decides to come early too! if he did come early like DD thats only 7 weeks away how scary🤨

Notquiteagandt · 20/11/2018 21:58

Does anyone else feel so much pressure really low down?

I feel almost like when I wipe when I go the loo that im going to feel top of her head.

Feels almost like a prolapse shes that low.

Im struggling to pass urine or walk with out having my legs really far apart.

Strangest feeling. Can only ashume shes dropped down. But wasnt exspecting it this early. Im only 27w1d

Anyone else? Or second time mums remember from last time.

Been having braxton hicks all night so can only ashume shes either got comfy really low down or dropped down.

Welshshepherdess · 20/11/2018 22:46

@Notquiteagandt defo the same. bump when low is very low quite difficult to drive as bump keeps rubbing on my legs! However she moves up high sometimes, this one is defo lower than DS was for most of the time however not to worried as when I lie down put knees up and tilt hips she gets the idea about where I want her. My theory on this pregnancy is that the food baby and real baby are having a fight for space and real baby because of gravity has no where else to go!

Notquiteagandt · 20/11/2018 22:58

@Welshshepherdess same I have been told she is very low and placenta is too. Had to take my knickers off for my 20w scan she was that low 🙈

Guess with that and things naturally dropping anyways. Its too be exspected.

I can feel her feet in my ribs though so can only ashume shes head down and head butting me in the cervix. Fun!Blush

Took me by surprise though as didnt exspect it this early. But reassuring to know not the only one.

babyp160 · 21/11/2018 06:36

I was going to say the same, baby is kicking very very low which has been worrying me

Surprisedmom · 21/11/2018 07:03

My midwife told me my bump is head down and I said I though the “kicks” I could feel low down might have been hands and she said they probably were in that case. I googled it and it seems it’s perfectly normal for them to be head down at this point although they might still tumble around a bit.

Alicejj8x · 21/11/2018 07:17

@babyp160 just last night I felt baby was so so low down too. My friends little boy has been head down since 25 weeks! X

Yakadee · 21/11/2018 08:15

Please tell me I have a cold and this isn't just congestion! I haven't slept the last 2 nights because I'm so bunged up 😩

Anyone with congestion - what are symptoms? Xx

powkin · 21/11/2018 10:10

@Yakadee - stuffy nose, having to blow your nose a lot, a lot of thick sticky mucus, the feeling of it being stuck at the back of your nose/throat... I know very well because it just made me throw up my breakfast! I can’t bear the feeling of it being in my nose/throat but am not a disgusting man so cannot make that rank noise and spit it out so it makes me wretch. Second time it has made me sick!

Dairy can make congestion worse by the way so you may wish to cut down... I tend to choose to suffer!

Since2016 · 21/11/2018 10:36

My back pain has alleviated massively since she moved up - she was so low I was struggling with jeans! They move around a fair bit still, although the trampolining on my cervix I could do without...

Bump now v high but I am feeling lots of fiddling around down there which is probably hands!

Anyone else hating the tube at the moment? It’s SO busy and SO hideous. I’ve been umming and ahhing about whether actually to come back after Christmas for a few weeks but this commute is ending me! 2 tubes and a train each way 😞 DH thinks I’m being silly and could do with the break but I worry it’s a bit indulgent?!

powkin · 21/11/2018 10:36

I’d recommend the sterimar nasal spray (the big bottle not the little baby sprays), some steam/inhalation, and if you can find a eucalyptus nose spray that can be really nice. You can also consider flucticonase propionate. It’s a prescription nasal steroid but it is localised so risk is small.

AliceRR · 21/11/2018 10:42

My baby is kicking low down but I believe (and discussed with MW yesterday) head is sort of near my belly button as I can feel a big bulge(!) and feet are low down so MW felt and said she thinks baby is kind of upright but isn’t worried about that as there is time for her to move.

Celebelly · 21/11/2018 10:53

Has anyone been referred for a growth scan? Baby is measuring a bit big according to fundal height (30 weeks at 28+4) so Midwife is sending me for a growth scan just to check.

I kind of expected this tbh as my DP was a big baby and he is a big man now (6ft 4 and very large structured).

I guess I'll get to see our baby again, which is a nice thing!
