Now that's all out of the way in the thread title we've all got to head down the "things can and will only get better now" ok?? All ailments stop and nothing but good things will befall us all.

Right.

OP posts:

kiteflying · 10/07/2007 12:12

Let's have something inspirational as we head into our final weeks!

Hersetta · 10/07/2007 12:13

Thanks banana - all very reasuuring reading about RoseQuartz and her epidurals - must just be feeling particulary sappy today as DH just shouted at me down the phone and it made me cry again - only the 5th time today!

bananabump · 10/07/2007 12:33

Tell him if he shouts at you again you're going to do something painful to his goolies as he sleeps.

I think we all go through stages of being tearful, it's understandable though you've got a lot to think about. Seriously though, you don't need anyone shouting at you at the moment, let him know that it's not on.

I was in floods of tears watching that program about birth on bbc1 last night, dp actually had to ask if I was ok cos I was snivelling so much. I do think the bit about "if the baby gets stuck, mother and baby will die" was over the top. I mean, yes, in the wild with no intervention, but not in a plush hospital room! That's what the doctors are for, duh.

On a selfish note I feel a lot better about my stretchmarks since seeing one lady's marks on there. She was a bit like a zebra, poor thing.

growingbagpuss · 10/07/2007 12:40

I'll def join in on the sappy days thing - I didn't watch the prog last night - but remember watching on last time about v prem babies - when i was about 27 weeks..... bad idea - I cried and cried.

This mornign my Mum has rung to have a go at all her children (she just got me first) about her lack of birthday presents. Snce my Dad died she has laways said " don't worry about me, I'm not celebrating birthdays anymore". This year, she had a list. She's been asking me to get her a DVD og La Boheme. Fine. But there are lots, and she can't make up her mind which singers/ venue/ year etc she wants. I could go into town and get her 1 tomorrow but she won't decide.

She has a heart cond' so shouldn't eat choccies, has all the plants etc she could want... not one for token things.

Am I being unreasonable to be cross at her for slagging her children off to her friends? She would have had a present from me, if she could be bothered to give me the right info.....

ok. this is totally unrelated to pregnancy. but never mind.

growingbagpuss · 10/07/2007 12:41

I'm going to change my name to moaningsagpuss.

Hersetta · 10/07/2007 12:47

I'm sure he doesn't mean to - that's just how he handles stress - I cry, he shouts. He's been lovely lately as well - talking to and kissing bump over the weekend. Think the whole pregnancy thing is hard for the partners as well - they're just bystanders and tend to get forgotten about I think.

Banana - that's one thing I am pleased about so far - no new stretchmarks. To be honest though I had so many already I wasn't sure my skin could stretch any more. I did see a pregancy and birth programme a couple of weeks ago and one lady looked like she had train tracks on her tummy and they were bright red/purple colour.

bananabump · 10/07/2007 12:54

Poor bagpuss, tell her next time you'll just give her vouchers if she's going to mess you about and then make a fuss. Honestly!

Hersetta, I had loads of bad stretchmarks in my teens that had completely faded, so I thought I'd be ok and not get any. I was gutted last week to see I had a few little sneaky ones creeping in, but they're not big red angry streaks like they could be.

Oh my goodness, look at this and feel better...

I know what you mean about the men getting stressed etc, but don't cut him too much slack. If he gets stressed tell him to go and punch the sofa cushions (like I do) lol

Hersetta · 10/07/2007 12:58

ooh they are like the ones I saw on TV - they look sore don't they?

growingbagpuss · 10/07/2007 13:18

oooh cripes!! makes mine pale into insgnificance!!

mind you... DS looked at my tummy the other day and said "oooh pretty colours"

Don't you love children?! NOT!

Hersetta · 10/07/2007 13:40

Ohh how sweet bagpuss - just not what you wanted to hear though!

Mrsshuvel · 10/07/2007 13:42

Its taken me two days to catch up! You lot talk too much .

Kite - i'm so glad everythings ok. Have chewed my fab PG nails to bits whilst reading.

Hersetta - Hope you feel better.

I had a mad crying day on Sunday. I think it was due to exhaustion more than anything else. I slept all day Friday then ruined all my rest by going shopping on saturday. Bought new dressing gown and slippers for the hospital. Then Sunday DP, my brother and i went down to Greenwich to watch Le Tour. The boys climbed up onto the church to see and i stood there for a bit. All i could see was the bikes on top of the cars. They had a big screen set up by the river so we watched the rest out in the sunshine. I stupidly got a bit burnt on my back. Went to Tescos, then came home had had a lunatic tantrum crying fit for the evening.

It didn't help matters that DP won't come near me and had stupid Peter Andre and Jordan programme on in the background. Peter was telling Jordan how he finds her so sexy when she's PG and i feel like a hippo and she hasn't got a single stretch mark and i have LOADS! I think i'm morphing into a cross between a Hippo and a Zebra. A Hipbra - thats me! Or a Zeppo!

Last bit of moaning - Promise - Ankles the size of my knees today and back killing me. There got that out of my system.

Are we still doing this Bluewater meet girls? Need to confirm date if we are as may need to swap day off.

growingbagpuss · 10/07/2007 13:49

Bluewater -yes i think so -I think there was mention of the 18th? I'm up for it......v slowly.......!!

Tokentotty?

GillL?

Pinkranger - fancy joining us - you were on holiday.. we thought we'd brave a RL meet up for as little or as much shopping as our legs and bumps can cope with.. Bluwater...

kiteflying · 10/07/2007 13:54

Thanks MrsShuvel.

I think TT must already be shopping in a mad fright at the thought of BabylovesM being so completely organised the other day

I must say it is very relaxing to be a few weeks behind most of you. Especially as I have a property purchase to complete in the meantime

Mrsshuvel · 10/07/2007 14:02

Are you buying a house Kite or is it a work thing you have to complete?

kiteflying · 10/07/2007 14:03

Oh and sorry I meant to say Babymad, not Babylovesmuffins in my last

kiteflying · 10/07/2007 14:05

I am buying a flat. Indeedy. Madness. I am sure if it were not for my blissed out pregnancy hormones I would not be going ahead in such a tranquil unstressed state.

Mrsshuvel · 10/07/2007 14:10

There's a lot of names on those stats that i haven't seen before. All you lurkers, don't be shy, come and say hello. We don't bite - might be a bit grumpy sometimes but a really nice crowd underneath it all

Mrsshuvel · 10/07/2007 14:12

Good luck with the flat buying. You're a braver girl than me. Hopefully it all runs smoothly for you.
