Lovely scan @fee1234 ☺️ x

MadeInCornwallx3 · 26/11/2018 11:01

Just checking in!

Lovely scans so far - and good luck to all those with there's upcoming.

I'm now watching the door for the post with results of my combined testing. @Kescilly did you hear anything yet?

Ahhh... I hate waiting! So nervous!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 26/11/2018 11:34

My nausea is getting worse! It really is and I’m just desperate to get through today and tomorrow so I can get scanned on Weds and soon enough hopefully know all is well.

My workplace smells as they have started cooking lunch in the canteen.

My DH is at home today and has asked what do I want for tea and I have no answers.

Yesterday by a miracle I managed to get through birthday dinner with DH and I though I had to ask if we could stay local and keep it unfancy lest I take ill.

If all is well at the scan and with tests etc and I am still feeling this shite in a fortnights time then I need to see the GP.

Reastie · 26/11/2018 11:53

Excitedmama I got some strange attitudes when I was pg last time, definitely other people have issues and it’s their issue not yours it’s just it can be quite upsetting when people behave like that. You never know what truly goes on behind closed doors and the problems or history they might have.

Lovely good scan news and thinking of those waiting for results and hope all is good.

Paulhollywood poor you with the yuckness. Being tired and doing too much definitely makes mine ten times worse so maybe it’s after going out last night? (Even though it was local, it’s still more tiring than going to bed early). Also, last time I remember from 11-12 weeks last time my nausea because a bit more intermittent but when it struck it was even more extreme than when it was constant so could be that?

Those who have hadn’t booking apt, do you get official written proof of being pg? If not do you know when we do? Work have asked for official written proof of my pg and I don’t currently have any (other than sick note which gives pg issues and says I’m pg but that must not be enough)

Bigonesmallone3 · 26/11/2018 11:55

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut
I feel you.. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow, nothing has subsided, sickness and nausea is awful.. ideally I didn't want to take any medication but I'm gunna have to at this rate..

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 26/11/2018 11:59

Talking of feeling people I feel you @excitedmama

Chances are there’s a story there but your friends are pigs to have reacted that way. Even if it’s the worst news ever for them a rictus grin and “I’m so happy for you” squeaked out is better than them calling you out. Idiots.

Been there and it’s horrid.

lstef · 26/11/2018 12:37

@Reastie - Ive had my booking apt but no written proof - I think we only get MatB1 at 20 weeks - work have asked me to send it when I get it. Weird that your work are insisting on it this early? I have done a notification of pg and theyve worked out the weeks and the earliest day I can take mat leave etc.

Reastie · 26/11/2018 12:43

I’ve had to send them my due date already too even though I haven’t even had a mw apt let alone dating scan so it’s a bit of a guess at the mo Confused

jacquejacque · 26/11/2018 12:49

Hoorah for scan pics and appts today - hope you're all getting the best of news. Sorry to those who are feeling shitty still, poor loves.

After the spotting last night, I went to see the doctor this morning. Had to wait an hour, which wouldn't usually be a massive problem but I was downwind of a baby's dirty nappy for the whole time. Vom.

She wasn't massively sympathetic but is calling EPU today to see if they can bring my scan forward; she did say she didn't think it was the best idea to have an earlier one as it wouldn't give me peace of mind (?!) so won't be asking for that. So now we wait and see.

Had a good cry in the car on the way home and now looking up private scan costs in case mine doesn't get moved.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 26/11/2018 13:25

@Reastie It seems quite odd they've asked for proof, they certainly aren't 'entitled' to it. Maybe just ask the doc for a note confirming? I got my form for maternity exemption at booking, do you have that?

Those struggling with sickness at the 11 ish week mark - that was the WORST for me. So I'll and felt like it would never end. Now 12 1/2 and a definite improvement - hang on in there!

My friends have all been pretty supportive if shocked with the news though a couple have asked me 'if I'm mad' a few times 😂. Nowt so strange as folk as they say.

Reastie · 26/11/2018 13:52

Madeincornwall don’t tell me it gets worse, I’m barely 10 weeks!

I’m wondering if work just don’t realise I don’t have proof yet. The main manager who is asking for it I don’t think was a main manager during a member of staffs pg so he might not realise. I was a bit miffed at being chased up to send proof given I don’t even have to tell them about my pregnancy for months yet!

I’m nervous of telling people I’m pg as I had such an awful pg with dd that I’ve spent the last 7 years telling people I will never be pg again ever. I never thought I could do it to the point I looked seriously at going abroad to get a surrogate as I wanted another child but I couldn’t go through pg again as it wrecked me. I wonder if I’ll get a lot of Hmm looks and assumption it was unplanned (which the opposite was the case).

Jacque I’ve found gps can be massively unsympathetic with early pg worries of mc and getting a scan. I hope you’re doing ok and not worrying too much. How can a scan not give peace of mind?! I hate it when gps think they know you better than you know yourself!

excitedmama · 26/11/2018 13:52

@paulhollywoodssexgut Thank you for your reply! I feel a lot better knowing that people here think I wasn’t out of order to think that it was a bit mean. I thought I was a bit selfish at first! Maybe it’ll al come out in the end.

I’ve slept most of the day today, feeling very cold and unproductive. I run a business on my days off shift so I need to pack orders really and keep my mind off my scan at 4:10! Too excited, this is torture lol!

So nice to see/hear about lovely scans @fee1234 and @toomanyflatwhites ♥️

excitedmama · 26/11/2018 13:55

@reastie I’m dreading telling my workplace, but I feel I need to ASAP. I’m 12 weeks (as far as I know) and I don’t know how I’ve got this far! I don’t really know what they expect, I’m just gonna take a letter, they’re probably gonna think I’m leaving forever! Ugh. Just want that bit over with. So yeah, feel for you!

stellarfox · 26/11/2018 14:07

@Reastie as part of our maternity T & C’s we have to give proof of pregnancy too. I just got through my medical exemption card so I was thinking I could use that. You should say you won’t get your proof for a few weeks. I haven’t even told my work yet as I’m applying for a promotion! Feeling a bit sneaky about it though so I hope no one suspects

If something’s wrong with the nhs genetic testing we should get a call by the end of today so feeling nervous! There’s so much going on today it seems!

fee1234 · 26/11/2018 14:12

Thanks everyone. Hope all the other scans go well!

Also been told my blood group is rhesus negative so I need to get an anti-d injection, and go for a fasting glucose test in a couple of months.

toasterstrudle · 26/11/2018 14:15

Reastie do you have an HR department? Could. Be worth asking them to clarify. I've got a doctors note in work for hyperemesis so had to tell my work but they haven't asked for any other confirmation - not sure what on earth I'd give them! We don't get our matb1 until 16 weeks I think. Maybe send a video of you vomiting in the morning? Wink

Also HG is literally pregnancy sickness. It cannot be related to anything else! Can he not just google it from your doctors note? Maybe you should just send in a print out from the nhs website of what HG is.

toasterstrudle · 26/11/2018 14:15

Great scans!! Lovely to see.

Reastie · 26/11/2018 14:23

Thanks for replies. Toaster I know, it actually says on my sick note the word ‘pregnancy’! Isn’t that proof?! Too small company for HR but have replied willmsend proof when I have it and they seem happy, I think they didn’t realise I don’t have anything yet and are over keen to get paperwork done!

sk17 · 26/11/2018 14:32

Had my scan and baby was all cute, healthy and extremely active. It was dancing about in my belly and DH said it's cos I dance around in the room (good coping mechanism for nausea)

So happy to see little peach's heart beating and I could have sworn it waved at us.

12+2 apparently and due date is 8th June

Yay for all other scans today @toomanyflatwhites @fee1234

Good luck @excitedmama I completely understand the worry but it will all be worth it when you see the bean moving ❤️

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 26/11/2018 14:38

My friends have all been pretty supportive if shocked with the news though a couple have asked me 'if I'm mad' a few times 😂. Nowt so strange as folk as they say

Am I being daft or is this your third baby @Madeincornwallx3

MadeInCornwallx3 · 26/11/2018 14:46

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut Yep it's my third! That's where the 'are you mad' comments are coming from. I'm trying to take it all on good faith. With a third people also feel the need to clarify 'if I'm going to keep it' which is a bit insensitive. Just a slightly different response to numbers 1 and 2.

@fee1234 - I'm also RH neg. had the anti D at 28 weeks I think with both previous pregnancies and you have to let them know if there's any serious knocks so they can give you more if needed. Both kids ended up being negative as well so far!

Napssavelives · 26/11/2018 14:47

I’m really struggling to hide the bump. Pre pregnancy i was a keen runner (hope to run again soon) and a size 6-8 so I guess Its going to show. Seriously though, I feel huge! Im only 11 weeks

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 26/11/2018 14:50

My third too @madeincornwallx3 and this baby will be my third in three and a half years.

EXACTLY what you are describing is why I am straight up not “announcing” this pregnancy, I’m just going to get bigger and more rotund and let everyone think it’s pies.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 26/11/2018 14:54

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut Love that 😂

I've told close friends in person but avoiding a 'public' announcement like FB or similar this time around. I guess I just feel like people I barely know/ rarely see will just not be as interested this time. I feel like being more private. Maybe that's just in my head but it just seems the case.

fee1234 · 26/11/2018 15:03

I feel the same about 'announcing', I'm planning to send an email with pics around my family (there's so many of us) but I don't think I will put on Facebook until nearer the end. I know there's a woman on my FB who can't have kids and it really upsets her, and I'd hate to think that a smug post from me would hurt someone.

I don't like all the cheesy posts anyway... I joked to my boyfriend last night about saying 'some of you may have seen the inside of my uterus already, but for those who haven't there's a baby in it' but he wasn't keen lol
