Hospital just rang to reschedule booking appt. They only offer appts at 5.30 or 7pm! Great for the average working woman who doesn't want to tell work, but not great if your nausea peaks in the evening. I might have to see if I can get a babysitter so my husband can drive me to it. The woman assured me that other appts will be held during normal working hours.

We took a holiday to Tenerife when I was 5 months pg with our first. It was a good time to go. Shame Tenerife is pretty dire though!

Husband has suggested I might want to fly long haul to see my dad before baby is born, as BIL reckons he doesn't look that great. I'm not sure though. I'd probably have to take my youngest, who would be 2. I'd need to go before the end of March. It feels too soon to think about it. I want to get to 12 weeks and then will make a decision.

Placemarking ☺️

@stellarfox I think it's more personal choice and I believe some are having it for reasons relating to genetic issues. I didn't have it last time and don't plan to this time. We just can't justify the money. But if we had some high risk factors etc we may consider it. But for us NHS testing has been fine.

What food aversions are people having. I started feeling ill after cups of tea a while ago. But more recently I feel ill after cheese. I am devastated!!!!

Hello, just checking in.

I’ve gone very quiet on the posting side as trying hard not to obsess over every little thing. For the sake of my sanity I need to step away from discussing every twinge and symptom or lack there of!

I’m still reading over the posts though and will probably become a bit more engaged after 12 weeks!

Hope everyone is doing wel!

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 02/11/2018 19:32

Checking in. I can't abide the thought of hot food at the moment so I'm living off cold toast and sandwiches!

beardotdo · 02/11/2018 19:32

Place marking! I have hardly been posting but have been reading and thinking of those who’ve had tough weeks.
9+1 today. It seems to be dragging so much. Just want to have my 12 week scan, or at least know when it is.

Napssavelives · 02/11/2018 20:19

Place marking, I’m in bed already

rollerskaterdata · 02/11/2018 20:30

Place marking, 10+0 today and desperately want my scan date!

rollerskaterdata · 02/11/2018 20:31

@pollykins151 I've gone off chicken and I usually love it. Can't stand the stuff. I went off mince meat in my last pregnancy and still can't stomach it now!

KoalasAteMyHomework · 02/11/2018 20:40

Had my booking appointment today with mw and she took bloods too. Am 8 weeks tomorrow. Should get my scan between 11+6 and 13 weeks. Things have changed a lot since I had my son in 2015. Much more support available after the birth now.
They'll use the bloods, my age and medical history, and measurements at the 12w scan to categorise if I am high or low risk for certain issues and high risk are offered the harmony- they don't do the amnio in my area anymore.

toasterstrudle · 02/11/2018 20:58

@pollykins151 I basically go off whatever I really fancy the day before! Really annoying as I'm slowly running out of things I can eat and am now down to potato waffles, dry crunchy bread, toast, rice crispies. Cheese rolls. Healthy 😂👍🏼

MadeInCornwallx3 · 02/11/2018 21:27

Hi all, marking my place 😊

We need to find the list - god knows where it is 🙈

I'm in bed and hoping to get some sleep - have my early scan tomorrow at 8+6. Feeling excited but nervous as well. Hope everything is ok, see a heartbeat and fingers crossed for just one bean! (I don't know how I would cope going from 2 to 4 😂).

I feel rotten as ever so hoping that's a good sign. I normally love food/cooking/planning meals and currently the very thought makes me heave.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 02/11/2018 21:32

Also - just realised we're in the pregnancy forum rather than antenatal clubs - anyone know how we move it or request a move across?

Fabuluce · 02/11/2018 22:02

Hello all

As many others have said, boy does this thread move fast. Every time I catch up reading I run out of time to post, gah! So finally I am here, placemarking at the very least.

8+5 today, achey ligamenty belly is my biggest symptom followed by extreme tiredness then having to constantly gannet as if not I'm a big queasy monster. Thankfully no vomming, I'm so bad with that. I'm in awe of you amazing women who cope with it day in day out. I take my many hats off to you all.

I have my booking in appt next Thursday and fully expect to be consultant led as this is an IVF baby, I have auto immune ishoos and I had an EMCS with my DS. Plus I'm ancient (at 46 I'm guessing I'm the eldest on the bus) and the powers that be don't like older mums unfortunately. Thankfully I'm pretty fit and healthy so that should keep them happy for the most part! Because the aforementioned ishoos I intend to have the Harmony Test (really need to book it!) but as the baby has been made from a donor egg from a young woman of 27 it should reduce my risk of chromosomal abnormalities. Phew, every cloud has a silver lining eh!

Re: books I'd also go with the La Leche League book, I found it very helpful as a reference book for me and for other friends when they've had issues. Also Zita West's guide to pregnancy was a nice book to have. Plus I'm another voter for anything to do with the 4th trimester being a definite winner. Other than that I'm of the opinion that all guide books should be pretty much taken with a pinch of salt as they will all contradict and make you feel inadequate in some way or another. Take the gist of what they say but ultimately following your mother's intuition can often be the best way.

pollykins151 · 03/11/2018 04:56

@MadeInCornwallx3 that was my fault sorry!!

Reastiepeace · 03/11/2018 07:47

Well, rather than food adversions it’s more a case of what I can manage to eat as I’m so limited and it seems to change by the day. Atm I can eat most of the time potatoes, cheese, crumpets, and muesli. I feel like I have to eat all the time or I feel sick straight away. Literally all the time. I’m going to put on so much weight and I’m not even enjoying any of the food!

I now have an extra drug for the nausea so I’m hoping that’ll help a bit more. It really is terrible. I’ve got an apt with a specialist on Monday afternoon in London but i won’t make it to London for an afternoon apt as afternoons and evenings are worst. I need to go but when it’s bad literally all I can do is lie down, close my eyes and deep breathe. I can’t do that on a rush hour train!!

I was told on Tuesday I’d had an urgent referral to mws for early booking in to enable me to get to see a specialist quickly about issues I’ve had this pg. I was told I’d have a call from then in a day or two. I’m still waiting Confused

Interesting re harmony test as I don’t remember it even being a thing when I had dd 7 years ago. So much has changed!

I had a bit of bleeding yesterday but I’m 95% certain it was due to piles Blush

Reastiepeace · 03/11/2018 07:53

Oh, and re holidays I feel bad as I know I probably won’t manage a holiday whilst pg as I felt so terrible when pg so I’m wondering about booking a great holiday in sept and just taking dd out of school for a week (she’s in private school so they can’t stop us) which I know isn’t great but I feel so sorry for dd having to put up with me not really being up to parenting her atm. I work in a school but will be on mat leave so couod enjoy cheap holiday time for once. The baby would be 2 1/2 months. Would I be ridiculous to consider a holiday then? I want to do south of France but I’m not sure about the flying, maybe it’ll be a week end in centre parcs!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 03/11/2018 07:54

@pollykins151

I don't think it matters - I just wasn't sure if we were meant to be in the other bit 😊

Scan today - arghhhhh!!!

Kescilly · 03/11/2018 07:59

I think @pollykins151 could just report her opening post to Mumsnet and ask for it to be moved, no harm done!

gossipgirl28 · 03/11/2018 08:42

Hi!

Currently 8 + 1 today. Got my booking in appointment this Thursday and cannot wait for the 12 week scan.
At 6 weeks I wanted pregnancy symptoms so bad to let me know everything is progressing well...fast forward 2 weeks...
Struggling with the tiredness and constant nausea now, it's hit me hard over the last week. Feel I constantly have to eat something every hour to take the edge off the sickness. I'm not actually sick though.
Always have with me, crackers, salt and vinegar crisps and rice cakes.
I'm usually so active and into fitness that I just don't feel like myself.
Xoxo

Mrsssmith11 · 03/11/2018 08:56

Anyone else's 'morning' sickness actually not that bad in the morning but horrendous by afternoon/early evening?

CollyWombles · 03/11/2018 09:01

Hi all, checking in. 7 weeks today. I have nausea all day, but it is worse in the afternoon.

Fabuluce · 03/11/2018 09:03

Reastie, my sis took her 6 week old along with her 4yo to the south of France and had a lovely time. Do it!

Reastiepeace · 03/11/2018 09:13

Thanks fab. Dd would love it.

Gossip I usually work out at least 5 times a week but I’ve managed nothing now for at least a week. I just don’t feel up to it.

I’m really scared by how many people are finding nausea so much worse at 7/9 weeks when I’m 6 weeks and it’s so so bad already.
