@Kescilly Fully recommend a pregnancy massage with the money - heaven! Had them with previous pregnancies and will again!

I'm keeping all my fingers crossed for us all - the odds are massively in your favour, hold onto that. And hope the postal results come sooner than two weeks!

Kescilly · 22/11/2018 11:42

Ah, I've just found this on the NHS website:

If your screening test returns a lower-chance result, you should be told within 2 weeks. If it shows a higher chance, you should be told within 3 working days of the result being available.

This may take a little longer if your test is sent to another hospital. It may be worth asking the midwife what happens in your area and when you can expect to get your results.

Unfortunately ours has been sent off to another hospital, so I'm not sure if it will be delayed. But I thought it might help anyone else waiting for results.

Torsz · 22/11/2018 11:50

@SassehMonsta sorry, second trimester is 14 weeks I believe! I'm counting down the days, just to be able to say we're down 1!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 22/11/2018 11:51

I don't see why it takes so much longer if all is ok? They must have the results to know it's low risk so why not just send them?!

Gahhh! Definitely over-thinking.

Kescilly · 22/11/2018 11:58

I think it's like any other situation where someone has an emergency. You've been waiting at A&E or at your GP's office and expect to be seen within a certain period of time. But if a more urgent case comes in, they have to divert resources and push them to the head of the queue. And taking the time to do that pushes everyone else back a little each time.

Kescilly · 22/11/2018 11:58

Also it sounds like most people get theirs more quickly than two weeks, so they are probably just allowing for delays.

stellarfox · 22/11/2018 12:14

Yeah the lady I saw said they say 2 weeks just incase of post delays e.g. around Christmas but hopefully most of us will be done by then!

And thanks for the congratulations 😊 I still can’t announce publicly as applying for a promotion at work and the interviews aren’t for a couple more weeks!

Kescilly · 22/11/2018 12:30

And now our boiler might be on the fritz so our refund might need to go towards that instead. 😬🥶

SassehMonsta · 22/11/2018 12:51

Ahh dammnit Torsz. Nevermind, I can but dream.

Tbh, we are mostly pregnant for 40 weeks, which is 10 months not 9!

fee1234 · 22/11/2018 13:01

How are you all finding bras these days? I need to buy a new one, gone up a size again. Anyone recommend a good one?

Fabuluce · 22/11/2018 13:03

I've just come back from a mini break in Iceland and self imposed MN break and finally caught up with the thread. Blimey it's busy! Hello to newbies, well done on the lovely scans and joins others on the nailbite to next scan time. Mine will be next Wednesday when I'll be 12+3. I'm worried of course even though there's no reason to be. The headfuckery in the first trimester is horrid isn't it.

fee1234 · 22/11/2018 13:07

@Fabuluce how was Iceland? I'm going there in 3 weeks :)

Fabuluce · 22/11/2018 13:25

It's was gorgeous! It was colder here than there bizarrely but my goodness the windchill factor is shocking - remember to bundle up and be prepared to have your face flayed off in the wind! There's so much to do both in Reykjavik and the rest of the island you'll be spoilt for choice.

Fabuluce · 22/11/2018 14:56

Totally forgot to say before that we had a cool thing happen this morning. My tum isn't the flattest of things on a good day and has been bloated for ages but this morning I was lying on my side and I could feel a uterus sized lump near my underneath hip which when I moved onto my back I could still feel - quickly got DH to come and have a feel which was very cool and exciting for him as we couldn't feel anything for ages last time (I was 2stone heavier). Eeek!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 22/11/2018 15:31

It’s nuts isn’t it; when I lie frontways on the sofa it feels like someone’s placed a lemon inside my lower abdominal cavity.

Cool Grin

LauralovesLuke · 22/11/2018 15:46

@fabuluce Iceland sounds amazing - did you get a chance to see the northern lights at all?

Like others have said before, I can't wait to 'look' properly pregnant - I'm so bloated all the time - in the mornings the only thing I can eat is marmite toast and th amount of bread is probably not helping. Should buy some shares in Warburton's to make myself feel better.

toasterstrudle · 22/11/2018 15:50

Ahh @Kescilly I totally misunderstood your last post - definitely don't worry! Agree with whoever said no news is good news from the nhs. Fingers crossed.

@stellarfox great scan!!

@Fabuluce very jealous of your break! Great your scan is on weds too, I flit between feeling very pregnant and feeling not pregnant at all so I get the anxiety. Having a nausea-free couple of hours so now of course I'm convinced something's gone wrong 🙄 Typical!

Torsz · 22/11/2018 15:54

Genuinely looking forward to getting home from work so I can test this out 😂

Bigonesmallone3 · 22/11/2018 16:12

@LauralovesLuke
I can't get enough marmite on toast at the moment.. it's helping me so much..
probably having 4-6 slices on bread a day!

mindthechaos · 22/11/2018 16:23

Hi everyone! I tried to catch up since I was last on the thread but it’s been over a week so I have no chance! I hope everyone’s pregnancies are progressing well, without too much of the sucky symptoms of the 1st trimester.

Finally had my booking in appointment yesterday. I had a student midwife as well (which I don’t mind as they need to learn and a student helped deliver my 2nd) but she was left to get on with filling in my notes by herself and then the midwife checked at the end. She made so many mistakes the midwife asked me to tipex things out and marked everything wrong. What’s a nice way to ask her to supervise better in future? as she missed out important things like a recent operation and that I’m strep b positive. Or should I just try and book in with the midwife I had last time?

Fabuluce · 22/11/2018 16:27

Kescilly - totally understand the worry and am keeping everything crossed for you. Did they say why the Harmony didn't work?

No northern lights this time - good excuse to go back again I reckon!

JBCG · 22/11/2018 16:39

Had my scan today, I'm 9+0. Saw the little bean wriggle around and strong heartbeat so feeling very relieved! I think I have attached a photo but no clue if it's actually worked as I'm on my phone

@fee1234 I got a double maternity pack of bras from M&S at the start of the week, they fit fine that day and now a few days later they're verging on being too small! 🙄 I was GG cup before getting pregnant and it was already a nightmare finding bras, I'm dreading having to go bigger. I'm loving wearing a bra that isn't underwired though!

The doctor has given me Metoclopramide tablets for my nausea and morning sickness, anyone else been on them? Cyclizine really didn't do much for me. I've also been signed off work for another 4 weeks, I feel like I'll go crazy if I'm feeling like this for another 4 weeks, I've had one day in the last 29 where I haven't vomited.

10 weeks tomorrow, holding on to the hope that the sickness will pass soon and this 'pregnancy glow' will replace it!

JBCG · 22/11/2018 18:17

M&S maternity bras for me too. I can now sleep relatively pain free!

Also just realised you have to click on my scan photo to see it 🤦🏻‍♀️ sorry about that!

Kescilly · 22/11/2018 19:15

@JBCG that must be so reassuring after all your worry. What a lovely pic!

@Fabuluce not enough fetal DNA, which could be for a number of reasons. Some concerning, some not.

No one from the NHS called me today, so that's something. Thanks for waiting with me, ladies.
