Wow @spottypyjamas how traumatic - but so glad everything looks ok (and here's to a boring few months to come!)

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut vitamin D - yes! I am taking boots folic acid + vit d instead of massive pregnancy vits, and it says: "The Department of Health recommends all pregnant and breastfeeding women should take a daily supplement containing 10 µg of Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps maintain your bones, muscles and teeth and a normal immune system"

Glad we finally got that whole wedding registration thing finished earlier, it took FOREVER! Upside is there were several very teeny babies in the waiting room to ogle, and I'm feeling quite excited about everything now when before it was just another thing on the list! Only got into work at 12.30 though oops, didn't take a half day as I thought it would be quick!

lstef · 16/11/2018 14:02

Paul - yes the NHS recommend taking 10ug (micrograms) of Vitamin D daily. Helps with calcium absorption I believe. I'm taking SevenSeas pregnancy multivitamin - avoid normal ones cos Vitamin A is not recommended.

curlypasta · 16/11/2018 14:08

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut yes the thirst! Last night and today pints and pints. I thought it was coz I had a cold, hope this replaces nausea!

LivingOnAPear · 16/11/2018 14:28

@spottypyjamas that must have been awful. I’m glad you are ok. And it sounds like the haematoma is gone at least if they couldn’t see it in the scan.

I’ve done lots of googling so at least now I’m prepared in case I bleed but I’m sure it will still be terrifying. My midwife didn’t even warn me so thank goodness for mumsnet.

LivingOnAPear · 16/11/2018 14:30

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut
I have the exact same symptoms as you now that the nausea has faded. Don’t remember this last time. I even thought I might be diabetic at one point because I was so thirsty.

sk17 · 16/11/2018 14:46

@spottypyjamas oh my I'm so sorry that happened to you. Can't imagine the scare that would cause. I'm so glad everything is okay and baby is completely fine 😔❤️

@toomanyflatwhites afraid I'm not much help in the wedding dress department as our traditional wedding dress is completely different. I would say leave some space for alterations as suggested because even though I was skinny at my dress fitting, I surprisingly found it tight nearer to my wedding 😋 couldn't resist food. Its harder to loosen clothes than to tighten them.
I also had my heart set on the same Tiffany ring so DH had to work hard 😅 get yo ring girl.

@fee1234 drop hints? 😉

toomanyflatwhites · 16/11/2018 15:27

For those with "the thirst" is it for something specific? In my first pregnancy I had an all consuming desire for some kind of very lemony drink which sadly I never found (first world problems, I know!!). Being someone who never drinks cold drinks other than water (or gin!!) I have now discovered the no-added-sugar drinks from Pret or the Innocent bubbly drinks with lemon are kind of amazing, and really seem to hit the spot.
Or maybe you just want gallons of anything rather than just a little can!

R4ch4el · 16/11/2018 16:01

Thanks for all being so welcoming, it’s so nice to have others to talk to!

@spottypyjamas that sounds very traumatic. So relieved that everything turned out okay and you got to see your healthy baby on the scan.

@toomanyflatwhites I’m mainly just drinking tons of sparkling water, I probably look crazy carrying my giant bottle around with me. The hunger is extreme too, I literally feel like I’m going to pass out if I don’t eat every hour or so. I’m just going with it, I’m going to be the size of a house before long!

Bigonesmallone3 · 16/11/2018 16:04

Today is the first day Iv felt a bit human again.. a few days ago I was throwing up in my daughters blanket in the car 🤦‍♀️ and today not even a heave 🎉

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 16/11/2018 16:12

Water!!! Heaps of it!

But also plain coke; and I know how much caffeine that contains so I need to watch it

curlypasta · 16/11/2018 16:14

For me the thirst has been squash, ribena has been hitting the spot but anything will do. Fizzy sugar free drinks are so good!
Food wise tho I went to the little corner shop this morning and they sell pasties/ sausage rolls hot. They also have a potato dog which was heavenly. Will be going there again tomoro in the way to hospital appointment:)

hexagon01 · 16/11/2018 16:43

I’ve been craving ribena, and drinking gallons and gallons of water but still feeling dehydrated.

In other news I can tell you that very mustardy French tomato and mustard tart is delicious to eat and hell to throw back up, my esophagus is on fire 🙃

stellarfox · 16/11/2018 16:55

@spottypyjamas sounds like an awful thing to go through but really glad you’re ok!

Love the scan photos, can’t wait to see more!

I’m thirsty for anything but have definitely gone off cups of tea!

Torsz · 16/11/2018 17:00

@stellarfox haha me too!!! Sooo thirsty (and I've had an empty bottle for a couple of hours) but haven't been able to drink tea for about 5 weeks now 😂 shame as I really liked Tetley decaf at first!

Reastiepeace · 16/11/2018 17:55

So this is why pg women need the loo all the time then, it’s all the drinking that goes on!

It’s lovely to hear some people are starting to have the fog lift, gives me a bit of hope —even if I have got a way to go before I get there—

So this hunger you’re getting, is it the ‘if I don’t eat I’m going to throw up’ or is it just hungry hungry hungry? And are anyone’s food adverions getting any better yet? I’m so desperate for hope!

Spotty that must’ve been awful but I’m so glad it’s all ok.

Torsz · 16/11/2018 19:02

@Reastiepeace mine is just constant hunger for carbs and a complete lack of willpower 😂

Reastie · 16/11/2018 19:04

I have that now but with the nausea as well Sad

Littleray84 · 16/11/2018 19:09

Mines more of a ' if I don't eat now I'm going to throw up' feeling but it doesn't help for long.

R4ch4el · 16/11/2018 19:19

@Reastiepeace Initially I was eating to stop myself feeling nauseous. Now the nausea has started to lift I’m just eating cause I can’t stop thinking about food. I’m obsessed, and I’m spending a fortune! 😂

spottypyjamas · 16/11/2018 19:30

Thanks you all for your lovely messages. Yes it was pretty traumatic but thankfully a happy ending for now. It happened in my last pregnancy and I felt it took away to joy around announcing it to people. Instead of yipee I'm pregnant, it's 'I've had a big bleed I'm hoping it sticks' in also forces to tell people I would have due to the circumstances of it all. But at the end of the day these things are minor and I'm just grateful for a bean with a little heartbeat.

Nausea here too. Worse on an evening. I'm frightening to eat too much when I'm out in case I like but then hunger makes it Worse!

Thirsty too but not for tea (I love tea!) Mainly fancying apple juice or cranberry. Was obsessed with milkshake last pregnancy but don't fancy that now.

lstef · 16/11/2018 21:05

Reastie - my food aversions seem to be on/off - at first I couldn't face eating protein i.e. meat/eggs, fish was ok, then managed meat again, then off it again etc. Today is the first time I have legit wanted crunchy vegetables since week 5 or 6, and had a craving for a chinese - had one tonight and it was so good. oh and cold pineapple (currebtly cooling in fridge!)

still struggling to drink enough fluid though.

I feel different today, like a break from symptoms or something- hardly any nausea.

this prego lark is strange - ive gone from having a teary meltdown this morning to being happy from eating a chinese. emotional rollercoaster.

Napssavelives · 17/11/2018 06:52

My hunger is a Eugh I feel so sick I need to eat.

Hate hubby this morning! He didn’t bother to clean up after his dinner last night and left half eaten pizza (the pizza which made me feel really sick) on the side last night. So I go downstairs, kitchen a mess, have to face last nights food that made me feel really ill, it smells really bad and all I want to do is eat my toast to get rid of the sickness but have to clean up because he couldn’t be bothered to. He said he was too tired, the reason he’s tired is he went off to a work even and stayed in London a couple of nights leaving me to deal with both kids so he could go on the piss. I have very little sympathy for his tiredness! Bloody men. He then has plans that’s going to take him out for a good Few hours rhus afternoon so I feel I’m not being unreasonable asking him to pull his weight around the house! I bloody work too but seem to do a lot more than him and I’m the one that’s pregnant. Grrrrrr

coastergirl · 17/11/2018 07:39

Anybody have any magic tips for the sore boobs? They are killing me and just getting worse. I know I shouldn't moan when others have awful sickness etc, but it's driving me crazy. My little boy jumps on them all the time too.

fee1234 · 17/11/2018 07:58

Morning ladies, I woke up at 6 to some weird noises and realised my lovely cat had brought a dead bird in through the cat flap up to my room and was playing with it! There are feathers everywhere so had to get my boyfriend to deal with the bird while I hoovered up all the feathers.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend

R4ch4el · 17/11/2018 09:32

@Napssavelives I can totally empathise. My husband just said “I’ve noticed that your tolerance for mess has gone up now you’re pregnant”. No! I’m just too bloody sick and exhausted to do any cleaning 😩
