Welcome @Chocolate45
I think there are a few of us in the same boat.. 😭
It gets better but uv gotta ride it out for a little while yet.. as hard as it is I personally feel a little better if I get up at a reasonable time and try and sort myself out, get a bit of fresh air or something, as I said in an earlier post, the sickness is killing me, so hard to eat and drink zero energy and now strained muscles from the heaving..
But we can do this 💪🏻

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/11/2018 15:25

@Kescilly

Always always go for the most local one; this means that you will have familiar faces at baby things that you will be grateful for in those first few months.

My NCT didn’t gel as a group and we have all gone our separate ways but we always say hi when our paths cross at local things.

Basically if you stay local and you don’t gel with your NCT in the “best buds” way some do these folk can still provide stepping stones to other baby groups you may make proper friends in.

Reastiepeace · 13/11/2018 15:43

I discovered my local nct do a baby massage course so I think I might hope to do that. I did baby massage with dd and it was really good but I can’t really remember the techniques and tbh it’s as much about getting out the house and having a chat as the actual massage.

Hello chocolate, welcome and sorry you’re feeling so rough. You sound just like me, I have barely managed to leave home in over 3 weeks. Pg is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I also feel like I’m making a huge mistake even though this was a planned Pg and I really want this baby. It’s hard to want to feel this terrible. I’m wishing time away atm and if only they could knock me out for the next few months!

Mrsssmith11 · 13/11/2018 15:48

I didn't go to any NCT classes. I went to a breastfeeding support group when DD was about 6 weeks old and made lots of wonderful friends there. We all still talk and meet up regularly.

I'd have been lost without those lovely ladies.

Chocolate45 · 13/11/2018 15:52

Thank you bigonesmallone3 and reastiepeace it’s good to know I’m not on my own but sorry you are both feeling so awful too.

I do feel better if I force myself out of bed but trying to find the mental effort to do it is killing me. It’s just the constant nausea and headaches that make me feel like I have no energy. I’ve lost weight in the space of 3 days and the thought of eating is something I can’t think about. Praying it goes away at 11-12 weeks!

Glad I’ve found this group.

Kescilly · 13/11/2018 15:55

Thanks Paul, looks like it will have to be the more expensive class then, if I do any at all. Do you think 1 or 6 would be better with a due date of May 31st? I’m leaning toward the later one but don’t know if that would be cutting it too close.

I looked for those Daisy classes but they don’t have any in my city.

Hello @Chocolate45 and welcome to the group!

hellotoyellow · 13/11/2018 16:20

@Chocolate45 you're not alone - I'm not as bad as that, but am typing from bed 'working from home' as today I needed to be somewhere I could be sick in peace. Actually got quite a bit of work done from bed - just dreading having to be in work physically the next few days!

Fingers crossed it all goes at 12 weeks. One of my friends is a few weeks ahead and says it all went overnight. She is my hope...

GreyhoundGurl · 13/11/2018 16:29

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Part of this has been anxiety. I understand some people have had bad news, I'm not sure if they are still here, I was sorry to read this and wish you all the best for the future. Also, good luck to those hoping for good news soon!

Has anyone else had really bad stomach pain? Yesterday I had very painful (but I am a wuss!) lower stomach/groin pains which went through to my back, from 2pm through to around 3am this morning. Now a dull period pain like ache. No bleeding. Spoke to a midwife who said it sounded like baby touching a nerve?! My scan isn't until 14th December (currently 8 weeks and 4 days). We have already had one private scan at 6 weeks and 2 days (we thought we were further along) but am considering another as this has frightened me - has anyone else had 2 early ones?!

Thank you in advance Smile

stellarfox · 13/11/2018 16:34

@Kescilly they only do the signature one in my area so I’m doing that. Essentials is shorter though if you’re not that keen. To be honest I have a few friends who have had their babies early so I’d be minded to go for the earliest one within your due date bracket

Reastiepeace · 13/11/2018 16:54

Greyhound for various reasons we had three early scans before 12 week scan with dd. It was fine —but expensive—

Chocolate45 · 13/11/2018 17:22

hellotoyellow it’s awful isn’t it. I do have my laptop with me but I didn’t even have the energy to open it. I’ve had to tell my manager, earlier than I wanted to but at least they now know. Cyclizine has helped so much. Yesterday I nearly stopped taking it as it felt more like a sleeping tablet but the nausea has almost gone and I’m learning to deal with the tiredness. I don’t want to speak too soon but I kind of feel half normal again. This is all in the space of about 18 hours. I would highly reccommend speaking to a GP for anyone who is really struggling with the nausea or sickness.

Bigonesmallone3 · 13/11/2018 17:31

How much weight loss is a concern, Iv lost about half a stone

SassehMonsta · 13/11/2018 17:37

Weight loss is a worry if you lose 5% of starting weight, but they usually only worry by 10%

Bigonesmallone3 · 13/11/2018 17:41

Ok, I'm over 5 but not quite 10

Fabuluce · 13/11/2018 18:24

I had 4 scans with DS - 7w sign off from IVF clinic, 10&12 with Harmony and an extra scare one at 11 weeks due to a bleed. All was fine and he's a bonny if not entirely crazy 3yo now.

This time we've done the same thing but haven't had any scares yet (🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻) so only 3 this far.

socktastic · 13/11/2018 19:46

The farting! Oh my god the farting. Its smelly, it's constant, it's embarrassing... on the other hand, it is fun as a teacher to drop one beside a group of children, walk away and watch them fight over who farted!

Cornwallinthesummertime · 13/11/2018 20:02

Does anyone have any words of advice on small amount of brown discharge at 9 weeks? Definitely not fresh blood.

jacquejacque · 13/11/2018 20:12

@Cornwallinthesummertime I had the same at six weeks and called my GP who said it was probably nothing but referred me to the EPU. Had a scan, all was fine and haven't had any since - I'm now almost 10 weeks. X

Bigonesmallone3 · 13/11/2018 20:55

I had this after sex at about 6 weeks.. I'm sure it's just old blood that's been disturbed.. maybe old implantation blood

Mummytomollyandbean · 13/11/2018 21:38

@Napssavelives so have I! It's not pleasant!

Kescilly · 14/11/2018 07:15

Good morning ladies! How is everyone doing today? Any scans coming up?

Thanks for the advice @stellarfox, maybe the earlier one would be better then. Better start saving up if we are thinking about doing this.

FoodieMumma · 14/11/2018 07:23

Good morning all, wondering if I may join in here too, or "mark my place" I'm pregnant with my second. I'm currently spot on 9 weeks today.
Super tired all the time, nausea has slowed down but heartburn has increased Confused

toasterstrudle · 14/11/2018 07:54

@Bigonesmallone3 I've lost a fair amount of weight, had hg in past pregnancies but luckily just nausea and a tiny bit of vomiting this time. Doctor recommended smoothies as a way of getting calories in. Or protein shakes (but I cannot bear the thought of that!). Smoothies seem to be ok - I'm loading them with avocado, cucumber and pineapple to disguise the taste. Avocado is full of calories. Weight has levelled out.

toasterstrudle · 14/11/2018 08:02

Welcome @FoodieMumma ! We're close due dates, I'm 9+3 today. How old is your other dc?

Bigonesmallone3 · 14/11/2018 08:07

I was having smoothies but after about 3 days I couldn't bear the thought of them.. I'm seeing midwife today il see what she recommends but I think she will say smoothies too, maybe il have to give it another go 🤢
