Yeah I've got to time it well, after a piece of dry toast or something around lunch time! Mine has always tailed off around 14 weeks in the past too so fingers crossed it eases for you soon. It's rotten! Mine has actually started easing already so I'm lucky.

fee1234 · 14/11/2018 08:32

My 12 week scan isn't for another week and a half when I'll be almost 13 weeks.. this is because they only do those appointments on Mondays here and next Monday I'm away celebrating DPs 30th with his family.

We are planning on telling them this weekend, so I've booked a scan for tomorrow night to get an up to date picture to show them. I'll be 11 weeks, haven't had a scan for over 3 weeks so dying to see the difference!

I just can't resist booking them because they are only £39 at the place right next door to my office. My DP said he didn't want to pay £400 for harmony test just now so the compromise is that I can book this scan instead.

FoodieMumma · 14/11/2018 08:39

@toasterstrudle he has just turned 6. I'm not sure if I'm Futher gone than what is estimated. I have my first scan booked in on the 6th December

Ksjourney · 14/11/2018 09:45

@Chocolate45 it is hard but you have a sympathetic ear. What you are feeling is extremely normal at the low times and after weeks of it we all start to question our ability to get through it. You need to take every day as it comes get through that day. Wake up and do it again. Be nice to yourself and do not push yourself or bully yourself to do any more than you can handle. You need to eat and drink though even if it is one thing you eat all day. I find cereal and fruit palatable and cereal is ok coming up too lol.

@Reastiepeace I said exactly the same. Why don't they?! I would pay to be knocked out for 2-3 months!!

Chocolate45 · 14/11/2018 09:59

Thanks ksjourney everyone at home is very supportive but I just feel like I’m bringing them down with my self pity. I would happily be knocked out for 3-4 months to save me feeling like this. I’m just hoping it will ease off at some point. I don’t have my scan booked in yet so there’s nothing really to focus on yet.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 14/11/2018 10:02

@chocolate45

I’ve had a few “what have I done” moments so far and I’m only 10 weeks. You’re having the utter pits of a time with sickness so no wonder you are feeling what you are feeling.

As hippy as this sounds, own your thoughts but realise they are your mind being in “flight” mode against the reality of your body seemingly being in “fight” mode with all the sickness.

SassehMonsta · 14/11/2018 10:21

Morning all. I'm waiting on a call back for medication review (aka, ask for more of the same).

I'm off work today and it's my dad's birthday. Dh is also off work but DD is at nursery, so we were going to go to the cinema or to hang out.... It's 10am and he is still in bed. I got up with DD at 6am and took her to nursery - I know he doesn't drive but that doesn't make my 6am start any better!!

Trying to get food into me. I have eaten a lot of smooth cheesey stuff this week with ketchup, mostly in bread or tortilla wraps. It's staying down mostly but I have vomiting moments here and there.

toomanyflatwhites · 14/11/2018 10:23

I'll echo what others have said - the first trimester is so hard, I don't have HG (or even nausea this time, don't hate me!!) but still feel rough and exhausted and have no idea how I'm going to cope with 2 children - even though this baby was planned. So for those who are really poorly I can't even imagine how much worse it is - just think, life with a squishy newborn will be so much better than this!!
I'm working from home today and having had a slightly better night with DD am determined to eat better and actually do some bloody work...mind you it's almost 10.30am and so far I've answered 2 emails and am just cracking open the chocolate biscuits, so not sure how well my plan is going 🤣

fee1234 · 14/11/2018 10:50

I hate moaning about the first trimester because I feel like I'll jinx it or something.. but I really can't wait to be past it. The nausea is unbearable and the foot aversions make me so sad (I mean who goes off bread and chocolate 😞), the acne is awful, bloating, diarrhoea, farts, boobs so sore I can't even hug people. Never felt so unattractive in my life! Pretty sure the 'pregnancy glow' is just the sweat you get when you are about to be sick.

There, I said it all. Feel a bit better now.

fee1234 · 14/11/2018 10:50

Food** aversions. Not foot.

toomanyflatwhites · 14/11/2018 11:21

@fee1234 I actually DID have foot aversions in my 1st pregnancy 🤣 If DP put his feet anywhere near my face whilst lounging on the sofa I went completely mad at him!! This time around I don't think we've even lounged on the sofa once as I'm going to bed with DD every night!
Personally I'm very sad that I've gone off coffee (coffee is LIFE for me usually). I have tried but just can't stomach it 😢
I know what you mean though, moaning about 1st trimester when I haven't even had a scan yet makes me worry...though a huge part of my worry if something goes wrong is that I would have to go through all of this shitty bit all over again if you know what I mean.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 14/11/2018 11:22

I'm so sorry all you ladies are going through this, but it's so nice to know I'm not alone!

Suffering so much more this time around, having two under five to look after probably not helping! I must be mad.

Ginger nuts again for breakfast but determined to have a better day than yesterday and actually be vertical!

Sending hopeful wishes to all of you for today!

Fabuluce · 14/11/2018 11:24

Sympathies for all those with sickness. It's horrific and you are all bloody amazing for getting through it each day. I genuinely don't know how you do it.

Just had my scan - am 10+3 today and all is measuring well and looking good!

fee1234 · 14/11/2018 11:26

@Fabuluce what a beautiful clear picture! 😍

sk17 · 14/11/2018 11:27

@fee1234 GIRLLL I feel you 100% about the not wanting to moan but that's why this thread exists. We're all pretty much going through similar things so it makes one feel a little better that they aren't alone Grin

@Kescilly morning Smile i've got my first midwife appt next week...about time. But still really nervous because of the paranoia Sad.

Also I have a question. When is the best time to join NCT courses and were they helpful?

sk17 · 14/11/2018 11:30

@Fabuluce awww so happy for you Grin

Fabuluce · 14/11/2018 11:34

AND they warmed the gel - I've never had that before!!

Chocolate45 · 14/11/2018 11:43

I feel like all I’m doing currently is moaning, hence why I joined this thread as we’re all in the same boat. It certainly helps to speak to people who are in the exact same situation. I definitely do not have HG but I’d say I was on the severe end of the scale. The food aversions are awful, I try something once and then I’m put off it. I have found eating little and often really helps. My partner has to physically force me to eat, if I was left on my own id just avoid it all day. Luckily his work are so accommodating and have given him a few days paid leave to look after me. He forced me to have a shower and just go out in the car with him for a drive around the block rather than lying in bed all day. At the time it feels dreadful but after I feel a bit more human again. It’s certainly helping to prepare me for work next week.

fabuluce this photo has made me feel very happy. Certainly given me something to look forward to!

toomanyflatwhites · 14/11/2018 11:56

@Fabuluce that's what you get when you pay 🤣 Great photo!! We are booked for harmony test in 12 days (not that I'm counting!!) when I think I'll be 10+6 so fingers crossed for a similar one. Are you finding out the gender with the blood test? We didn't last time but having said never-ever I'm actually tempted this time!

Kescilly · 14/11/2018 12:00

@toomanyflatwhites I had my Harmony done at 10+6 but just got a call to say there wasn't enough fetal dna in the first vial and they are going to try the second. After some googling, I've seen that this isn't totally uncommon and I wish we had waited another week or so to have my blood drawn. I had only scheduled it for that week because it's what was suggested to me.

They might get results with my second vial, or we might have to have another sample drawn. But I thought I'd warn you because now I wish we had waited!

@Fabuluce congrats on the great scan!

Reastiepeace · 14/11/2018 12:05

Chocolate I got so desperate I actually googled ‘can you have an induced coma in pg’ as I just want to wake up and feel better in a few months (although I had mine throughout last time but after 20 weeks I coped a lot better). FYI Turns out it’s not something they do unless medically essential, which is super rare. Even if you pay private Wink . Honestly the only things getting me through this apart from moaning on mn is taking every day at a time and ticking things off on a day and week basis. I can’t even think about this lasting for months more, just take today and this week for now and think about that later. Doing as little as possible as rest really really helps (I’m signedoff work). Eating as frequently as I can manage as it’ll go downhill if I stop eating (salt and vinegar crisps usually are good when all else fails) and atm I’m knitting a baby blanket. I did the same with dd and it really helped the time go and give me a focus when I couod think of nothing else but how sick I felt. If only it were as simple as eating ginger but that’s like trying to stop a flood with a toothpick.

Reastiepeace · 14/11/2018 12:06

Oh and fab that’s a lovely little picture. Looking so properly person like already.

Fabuluce · 14/11/2018 12:07

Thanks all - it's amazingly clear isn't it!

For those who are struggling my sister had a terrible time with her two and at 5 months in had lost a stone! Her advice was to eat something/anything small every hour on the hour. If she left it even five minutes over she vommed but if she kept to the clock it made all the difference. Anything's worth a try isn't it. X

toomanyflatwhites · 14/11/2018 12:30

Thanks so much for that @Kescilly - was that to do the harmony test itself that there wasn't enough, or just to tell you the gender? I'll be going to a london clinic where the "package" they offer is scans at 10 and 12 weeks with blood drawn at the first appointment, and results at the second, so I assume it's usually ok by this stage.
I'll only be as far along as 10+6 because by the dates they decided to go by that's the soonest I could go, so I went earlier last pregnancy (just 10 weeks I think) and it was fine, so fingers crossed!

Kescilly · 14/11/2018 12:48

That was for the whole test, not just gender. Hopefully we’ll both get our results!
