@Hopefulirishmammy Fingers crossed for you, and if this doesn’t work out I hope you get on another train soon. I know it’s really dependent on your dates but my scan at 5+1 they couldn’t see a baby. Hope you can get another scan soon to confirm.

@reastie I’ve not tried it but there is an app called Mush which is dubbed tinder for mums (to make mum friends rather than dating!) I’ll probably have a look to see what it’s like nearer the time!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 11/11/2018 00:00

@Hopefulirishmammy I'm sorry you've had a bad scan. Fingers crossed it's a dates issue and we see you back.

@Bigonesmallone3 Congratulations on your scan - how far along did they make you?

Fabuluce · 11/11/2018 09:24

So sorry Irish - keeping everything crossed for you. X

SassehMonsta · 11/11/2018 09:46

Mush is meant to be good. I found lots of lovely ladies last time at my local aquanatal group. I went back last week for the first time and out of the 8 ladies there, 6 of us were attending for the first time! They seem a nice lot. I'm still in touch with 2 ladies from last time round who were due around the same time, one I saw on Thursday and the other we work opposite hours so catch up when we can! The kids get on well too.

Our local NCT have bumps and babies on but it's while I'm at work so will have to wait for mat leave and drag DD along too, as it's not on a nursery day.

I feel so sick still. It's relentless. I need to try the fibrogel for the constipation but don't know how fast it works so worried about taking it on a day when I'm out and about. Trying not to vomit on the sofa currently.

SassehMonsta · 11/11/2018 09:50

Seriously contemplating hypnotherapy this time round. I was rather noisy last time round (probably scared some other ladies on the ward). I had a whole post about this and GD but it went AWOL and I'm too sick to replicate it.

MauisLeftNipple · 11/11/2018 10:39

Sasseh the only time I've been freaked out on labour ward was after I'd had #2. I was under observation in the HDU and all I could hear was this maniacal laughter every now and then. Eventually I realised someone must be off their face on entonox! When I was actually in labour I was never conscious of noises coming from outside my room(s).

MadeInCornwallx3 · 11/11/2018 10:39

I've had my scan date through for a week Tuesday when I'll be 11+2 - they've gone by my lmp so think I'm 12 weeks, but I know my dates.

Is this an ok time for all the testing? I'm 35 so a bit nervous about it all anyway.

Anyone had a scan this early?

MauisLeftNipple · 11/11/2018 10:40

Also, in my experience fybrogel doesn't normally bring on a sudden urge to go to the loo.

toasterstrudle · 11/11/2018 10:50

@MadeInCornwallx3 I think that would be fine, I'm sure they can test between 10 weeks and 13+6. You could always phone your midwife to check though re your updated dates.

I think there must be loads of women who don't get an early scan and turn up to "12 week scan" with dates that are out so they leave margin for error.

Blondcat · 11/11/2018 10:56

@madeincornwallx3 the mw told me anywhere form 11+2 and 13+ can't remember was fine to do tests as I asked to be seen ASAP as very nervous after mc in April. I have mine in just under 4 weeks when I will be 12+1.

Skee · 11/11/2018 11:11

Meant to say Bigonesmallone, that’s a great scan - congratulations! And what a lovely thing to hear from the sonographer too! x

Kescilly · 11/11/2018 11:17

@Hopefulirishmammy so sorry about your scan. I’m hoping that you get some good news soon, whether for this or a future bus.

Fabuluce · 11/11/2018 13:30

TMI alert but has anyone seen the squatty potty reviews on Amazon? The theory is not madness where stubborn poos are concerned! I've been using my LO's step up to the loo to get myself into a better poo position and it does make a difference! 😂😱😂

coastergirl · 11/11/2018 15:19

Does anybody have any recommendations for vitamins that are easy to take? With my precious pregnancy which ended in mc I took Pregnacare but they had to be taken with the main meal of the day, which is a pain. Currently got Boots ones but they are huge and leave me with weird banana burps for ages! No idea why!

I'm really struggling with tiredness. I'm in bed shortly after my little boy every night, usually by 8/9. Even though I was in bed at 8.45 last night (yawned right through Strictly) and had the house to myself since 6.30, I'm still totally shattered. I don't remember feeling like this with my little boy. Need to go and see my grandad soon but it's a two hour round trip and I'm struggling. He's terminally ill though, I really need to go.

toomanyflatwhites · 11/11/2018 15:40

@Fabuluce I spent a lot of time in Asia and the squat toilets teach you this - there's a very good reason for it!! So yep if you're struggling just try to elevate your legs into position and it helps!!
@coastergirl I have got folic acid+vitamin d tabs from boots and just taking those - they are tiny, and actually that's all that's recommended that you need!

JBCG · 11/11/2018 15:51

I'm having a bit of a panic and just wanted to run my theory by you lovely ladies if I may? When we had our scan on Friday, we could see what the doctor said was the baby and it's heartbeat. DP asked what the other 'white blob' at the top of the yolk sac was and the doctor sort of dismissed him so DP showed me what he was talking about. The doctor then just sort of waved his hand and said 'oh that must be the placenta'. Now I didn't really think about it any further until I saw an article recently on twins. Twins run in both mine and DPs family. So after my slightly panicked ramblings, does anyone know if it's common to see the placenta at a 7 week scan in the yolk sac? Or is it possible we have two little beans growing?

coastergirl · 11/11/2018 15:55

Thanks @toomanyflatwhites I'll have a look for those.

Reastiepeace · 11/11/2018 17:24

JBCG sorry I have no idea, sorry.

Re constipation I find using dds bathroom stepper to elevate my legs really helps.

Coastergirl I have spray vitamins which are great you just squirt 5 sprays in your mouth every day. Got it from amazon. It’s not got everything though, I think it’s folic acid, b6, vitamin d and possibly a couple of others but it doesn’t have iron in.

Fabuluce · 11/11/2018 17:50

Coastergirl I use Pregnacare Max and as I have a generous bowl of porridge with bananas, raspberries and blueberries for breakfast I take them after that (along with the insane number of ivf drugs I have to take alongside them - only 2 more weeks for most of them though!). Would that work for you?

Fabuluce · 11/11/2018 17:51

JBCG not a clue I'm afraid, sorry. Time for some google research!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 11/11/2018 19:47

To be quite frank with you @JBCG if you think there’s two in there and you felt a bit dismissed by the doc perhaps a private scan is needed??

JBCG · 11/11/2018 20:00

Yeah to be honest I just don't know! Maybe I'm being extremely ignorant because this is my first pg and maybe that's totally normal! Google is sadly not providing me with much help!! I've got another scan in 12 days because of the bleeding I had earlier on so will hopefully find out more then. I'll be 9 weeks then so hopefully will be able to see a bit more!

Bigonesmallone3 · 11/11/2018 21:46

Thankyou..
@MadeInCornwallx3 they've put me at 7+6
I thought I was 8+4 yesterday so not massively out.
@Skee thanks love

Bigonesmallone3 · 11/11/2018 21:50

@JBCG
I had a scan yesterday they put me at 7+6 the yolk was not smaller than my lil bean!

I panicked when I spotted but I was assured it was a yolk sac (or whatever it is they call it)

Bigonesmallone3 · 11/11/2018 21:50

@JBCG
Sorry I meant not much smaller**
