Whoops, got cut off! Meant to say I've still had to get maternity clothes to accomodate growing bump!

Potatoesplease · 15/11/2018 16:47

@Inkworks273 Hopefully it will be ok. Did you manage to find out what the call was about?
I am also worried about getting a call this week, so I know how you feel. X

inkworks273 · 15/11/2018 19:02

@Potatoesplease No they called at 2pm and haven't called back.

Hopefully I will hear from them tomorrow. Whoever it was, I wish they would have left a message so I could have called them back.

frankiefumbles · 15/11/2018 22:18

@Beckyv88 apparently they are actually prodding the bladder not the baby. The bladder then bounces against the womb.

@inkworks273 my scan call back came from the same department/number that you have to ring up to book your scan. Did you have a number to book your scan? If so, try that. Otherwise perhaps try the Early Pregnancy Unit...that's where my scan was?

I haven't really been on much. The 12w scan was fine. The NIPT came back clear. I found out I was having a boy. I was hysterical (I didn't even realise I wanted a girl at that point). You'd think after two MCs I'd count myself lucky. But oh no. No obvious bump. I'm just getting fat. My calf wobbled today when I shaved it in the shower. Maybe time to cut down on the cereal binges and try to get back to eating apples. Yawn.

So I kind of wonder what now. Obviously 16w app, got mine booked at 17w. My 20 scan clashes with Christmas dates so I have to wait until 21w after new year. But...what now? I feel tired and unproductive but no longer sick. What does one do now? I still want confirmation the baby is in there but I'm really trying not to buy a Doppler.

Do I really have to just sit here and let it grow?!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 16/11/2018 07:26

I don’t think there is much more you can do really, frankiefumbles! Just try to be patient, in a few weeks you’ll have a whole host of other niggles and aches to remind you that baby is in there, as well as feeling them kick you in the ribs or use your bladder like a trampoline!

I’m similar and worry that as I don’t really feel anything, except exhausted & headaches, that I don’t know that everything is going well. Just have to try and remind myself that there’s nothing to suggest it’s not going well, so assume all is OK! Easier said than done sometimes.

I also need to start trying to eat properly again. I live off beige food still. Have a real aversion to anything healthy, it all tastes disgusting and the textures are all wrong (nausea inducing) Sad my baby is going to be malnourished with a sugar addiction.

Beckyv88 · 16/11/2018 07:34

@frankiefumbles was it from the blood test that they found out the gender? Was it sent to you by mail?

I feel much the same! Symptoms are quite low except I’m still bloated at the end of every day and very tired but nausea is infrequent. But I felt like this for a week before the scan too and everything was fine so trying to be calm about it. Also getting fat, really not sure if I can say it’s a bump if it’s squishy.

dreaminofholidays · 16/11/2018 07:38

morning everyone. Happy Friday!

Wondering if anyone else has had this... I've woken up with an ache in my stomach. When I changed sides it's quite uncomfortable.

Thanks xxx

frankiefumbles · 16/11/2018 07:53

@Beckyv88 I had two blood tests. The private NIPT showed the gender (but I also sent a photo of the scan to the nub techs and they guessed right). I had NIPT bloods taken on Fri, they arrived at their base at Mon and I got an email with an attachment on Thurs. this included the result of "boy"

Then the normal NHS bloods I had taken on Wed came back on mon morning in the post. Which I was impressed by, speedwise.

I'm definitely podgy now. But that's okay 😂 lols

HalfBloodPrincess · 16/11/2018 08:02

@dreamingofholidays I’ve been feeling like I’ve been kicked in the stomach for a few days, like an achy bruised feeling. It’s familiar to me so I’m guessing I’ve had it in previous pregnancies.

purplestar9 · 16/11/2018 13:32

Afternoon :) I started with an ache around my hips last night. Not very comfortable but I've been assured it's just everything stretching as it needs to!
I definitely have a bump! There's no hiding it now haha. I'm just waiting for the day when I start feeling baby move, I think that's the next thing for me! Then roll on 17th dec for my 20 week scan!

dreaminofholidays · 16/11/2018 14:46

Thanks guys! That's reassuring.

Also haven't been sick since Wednesday. Still retching but hoping this is progress! xxx

Pebblespony · 16/11/2018 15:43

No 20 week scan here. Next scan is in the last week of March. It's a long time.

purplestar9 · 16/11/2018 17:03

@Pebblespony how come no 20 week scan?

OP posts:
UntilTheVeryEnd · 16/11/2018 17:13

@Pebblespony are you in the UK? 20 week scan is the anomalies scan so is standard for everyone x

Pebblespony · 16/11/2018 21:13

I'm in Ireland. It's standard most places here but not where I am. Think they removed it due to resource issues. If I went an hour up the road, I'd get one.

Lorrie3 · 16/11/2018 21:37

@pebblespony thats crazy im in Ireland too and I got my 20 week scan date booked at my 12 week one. Wow! I didn't realise it varied from place to place

Pebblespony · 16/11/2018 23:26

No twenty week in some hospitals in the South West. I'll be 20 weeks between my scans.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 17/11/2018 08:22

Oh, that’s so frustrating Pebblespony Sad but you’ll be offered a scan at around 36 weeks? What will that be for? Are you considering getting a private scan instead at around 20 weeks?

inkworks273 · 17/11/2018 17:01

God I am so sick of this sickness. Went to do some food shopping with dh, just to get out of the house for a while. Ended up having to abandon him at the check out and run to the toilets.

When will it end 😭

Hope everyone else is having a better Saturday!

Firstbornunicorn · 18/11/2018 00:25

@inkworks273 I don't know when it will end and I've used up all my sick leave so just getting stat now 😭. Sorry I don't have better news! I will say that at 16 weeks, I'm finding it a bit more manageable and I have a bit more energy too. But it's still rotten.

dreaminofholidays · 18/11/2018 06:52

@inkworks @firstbornunicorn
I had to pull over and throw up again yesterday. I thought the sickness would be gone by now too. 😕

Is anyone going to have a scan inbetween 12 and 20 weeks? x

tinyradish · 18/11/2018 08:16

We were going to get a private sexing scan but have decided to just wait until 20 weeks now :)

Had a lovely 16 week apt on Friday - the midwifes were great & I got to hear baby's heartbeat which was loud & clear.

Starting to get a definite little bump now so things are starting to feel real. Cannot wait to feel movement!

purplestar9 · 18/11/2018 10:55

I'm so sorry for those of you who are really suffering. I feel bad coming on here to comment when I feel practically normal.

On another note, I babysat my 8 week old niece yesterday for a few hours, she is adorable... hard work, but adorable!

OP posts:
inkworks273 · 18/11/2018 11:16

@Firstbornunicorn Still being sick at 16 weeks is not what I wanted to hear 😂

I've been signed off work for 5 weeks now and still have another 2 weeks left on my line. I was hoping I'd be feeling well enough to go back by now.

Feel so guilty about how long I've been off.

bellaclava · 18/11/2018 13:10
