Just in case we get locked out without realising!

poor holly...tried to post more, but this lil'un won't let me

foxybrown · 22/06/2007 22:05

So is she comfort sucking do you think? In which case she might be a bit windy (sucking helps ease it apparently). Or does she just want the comfort, in which case, and I'm loathed to suggest it outloud but a dummy if it gets too much?

bumperlicious · 22/06/2007 22:05

don't know what to say daisy, it's like the blind leading the blind! thinking of you though. just debating whether or not to wake this LO up as she hasn't fed properly for hours...

I used my little finger as a dummy for DS1. Soft part of finger tip to roof of the mouth, give your nips a rest.

He then sucked his finger until he was 4 though, so I probably shouldn't recommend it!!

bumperlicious · 22/06/2007 22:07

ordered that book earlier btw - express delivery before 1pm tomorrow at £8.99! but what's £9 for a bit of sanity?!

Daisy - sounds like your havin a mare!

I know nothing about bf - so am utterly useless (sorry) but what about phoning / emailing these people?
I met one of them at my antenatal class and she seemed like a total tree hugger (and was bf'ing a 3 yr old child at the time) but she seemed very helpful and passionate about bf and helping others etc...?

bumperlicious · 22/06/2007 22:12

right, going to try walking around bit coz stitches ouchy , so glad to be back on here with you guys for support. catch up again soon.

Poor Holly . What does this mean for her birth?

Daisy, just checked my clbb and gina says () babies go through a growth spurt at around 3 weeks - it could be this??

sputnik · 22/06/2007 22:24

Daisy, I haven't a clue really but will she make do with a cuddle for a bit? That way your norks can recharge then maybe she can get a more satisfactory feed and drop off.

daisyboo · 22/06/2007 22:25

sorry guys, not ignoring you....don't know if its comfirt or not...but she's been like a dog at a bone. loathe to try a dummy until things are more established. tried the finger earlier as usually that gets her off to sleep...but after 25 mins it was obvious she wasn't giving in. i've nursed her again and she fed for about 15 mins and is now slumped over my shoulder in a very un-ladylike fashion.

i think she is settled..now have to try and restle her into her babygro as she was so hot and bothered earlier i just took it off.

on the up side, got some great clothes at a 2ndhand shop today for her, including "little rocha" dungarees (hasrdly worn) for 50p! they're boys, but are khaki so with a nice pink t-shirt underneath will be lovely

sputnik · 22/06/2007 22:26

Annobal, I am shocked

daisyboo · 22/06/2007 22:27

is that "the" gina.....i think it could be that combined with her long sleeps of yesterday mabe....what does gina suggest? does she do BF?

annobal · 22/06/2007 22:28

LOL Sputnik. Just for research purposes you understand

daisyboo · 22/06/2007 22:29

thanx for the link dkma....

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 22/06/2007 22:30

Oh Daisy - I've got those dungaries for my little one - they weren't 50p tho Did you get the hat as well? It's sooooo cute.

justbeme · 22/06/2007 22:31

Oh just popped on and read Hollys post! How disappointing for her not to be able to HB and use the pool -
still if theres meconium........

Gosh it all happened rather quickly didnt it??

Sorry to hear about your BF probs ladies - but sounds like Clare will be a help.

sputnik · 22/06/2007 22:33

I've had similar Daisy. Baby Sputnik slept over 5 hours today then fed like crazy from 6 to 10.30, just short half hour breaks. He just woke up with wind, hardly surprising really, but was ok once I picked him up. Just that I have to type one-handed.

Annobal, bet you're surprised to still be here, maybe you'll reach your due date!

daisyboo · 22/06/2007 22:34

dkma....ther's lots of baby/kids stuff in debenhams sale....didn't get a chance to look yesyerday though as i felt so ill and had to go home!

annobal · 22/06/2007 22:34

Dungarees sound gorgeous!

Gina says...to feed more often. She also says that if she is feeding little and often the previous feed hasn't digested by the time she has her next feed and can cause sore tummy, hence try and get her to feed a little longer and further spaced apart. HTH xx

daisyboo · 22/06/2007 22:36

i just remember that this was normal pattern for ds cos my latch was crap and he wasn't getting enough. thought it was the beginning of the end.

i wish mn had been around back then, or if it was, that i'd known about it...just found out through another thread that what i was getting with ds was vasospasm...sounds just like it anyway.

daisyboo · 22/06/2007 22:38

cheers annobal!

or should i say gina.

annobal · 22/06/2007 22:39

Sputnik, I'm having mixed feelings about still being here - I keep expecting to go into labour and then it doesn't happen. Am getting very bored! But trying to be patient (and not succeeding )

annobal · 22/06/2007 22:40

Not a problem Daisy - it can be our secret .

daisyboo · 22/06/2007 22:44

off to re-fuel myself ready for the next onslaught...i'm blardy starving!

annobal · 22/06/2007 22:58

Hope you all have a good night with your LOs . Night all!
