DKMA - have you tried the glass of cold water trick to get him moving or something sweet?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 21/06/2007 17:35

Yep - I've been eating and drinking (cold stuff) on and off all day.

DH has just come home and is in a blind panic - so will have to go and calm him down - will report back later!!

Hi girls

I wont stay long, as I'm a bit frazzled, but I want to announce the safe arrival of baby Isla Rose, born sunday weighing 8.14oz. Shes beautiful, hard work- but beautiful!

Congrats to those of you with your babmbinos too. Thanks LOADS for your support, and I promise to be in touch soon

love Pingu x

Hi Doggus, don't worry too much about the size of the baby. A few weeks ago my baby was measuring very small for dates. The scan results were that the baby was quite large 7lb 13 at 36 weeks but they are notoriously wrong and the 25% leeway meant the baby could be anywhere from 5lb to 10lb! My MW was telling me a story about a lady the consultant insisted be induced as the baby was looking large but ended up being just over 5lb! BTW I'm still measuring small for dates (measuring 33 weeks at 38) so I don' think the baby is going to be huge. Not sure about the placenta thing though, sorry...

daisyboo · 21/06/2007 18:16

Pingu....Big Congratulations. Isla is a lovely name. Can't wait to see some piccies!

Hope it's going OK....come and join us on the PN thread when you get a minute!

bumperlicious · 21/06/2007 18:40

Hi all, just popping in really quickly between near constant nursing! Back home an hour ago. Will post proper birth stuff when I can deal with it/have time. Suffice to say was frikkin quick, delivery unit full, gave birth in a side room in the antenatal ward after insisting my contraction were coming thick and fast!

Hope TA is ok. Love to you all, may be lurking over next few days xxx P.S. baby bumper is beautiful!

Quick warning to those trying to encourage labour with hot curry - DON'T! It's not fun trying to balance tens machine, contractions and stingy poos!

hollyandalice · 21/06/2007 18:42

Congrats Pingu!! Well done, hope you and Isla are doing well!

Well, I feel like shit! My bump is constantly rock hard and I can't move properly or breathe properly or roll over in bed. If anyone has an industrial sized crane it would be most useful! This horrible hard bump thing has been going on for ages, so it is obviously not having any cervix opening effect, just is really annoying! GRRRRR....

Hope everyone has had a good day xx

hollyandalice · 21/06/2007 18:44

Hi bumper, well done! Hope everythig is going ok! The constant feeding thing does stop after a couple of weeks, you will have time to get dressed and go out soon! Glad baby bumper is well and you too xx

foxybrown · 21/06/2007 18:53

Hello all. Thankfully it has been quiet today or I'd've never caught up!

Had a lovely day, relatively successful, and had a really, really lovely time with DP. Just thet two of us It was a treat, we were guests in a box so were fed and watered all day. He's just gone to pick up the children from various places, so have to go and get the bath on, but before I do

Congrats Bumper and Pingu - great to hear all is well and you are back online already! lots of love xxxx

Hope everyone else is OK xx

justbeme · 21/06/2007 18:59

Congratulations Bumper and Pingu!!
The post natal thread should start getting busy now!!

Still no text from TA - whats the longest time do you reckon that you could be in labour for if induced?? Any one have any experience?

hollyandalice · 21/06/2007 19:17

Glad you had a lovely time foxy, sounds like a really good day out!

JBM I would have thought they'd let her go about 12 hours or so. I really hope it's going well and she doesn't have to have a cs or anything hideous, not after the crappy time she's had!

xx

lulumama · 21/06/2007 19:27

induced labour can be anything from a couple of hours to days !

i do hope TA is ok, and her LO

justbeme · 21/06/2007 19:41

Days!!!! - oh gosh I hope not for TA's sake!!

God Im very weepy today - just snapped my Mums head off on the phone - I told her to stop phoning me everyday!! I feel like I just want to be left alone. My sister p'd me off earlier too trying to tell me what I should be doing. I do hope I'm not heading for depression... mind you reading the Pn thread, I won't be alone if I am. Likel I think said they should put AD's in the Bounty pack!! LOL.

mumof4aceboys · 21/06/2007 19:44

Hi - up ere they try you for two days then if no sucess go for section.

hollyandalice · 21/06/2007 19:46

I'm the same JBM! I don't want to talk to anyone, all I want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep. I don't want to leave the house because I'm so big I feel stupid and people just keep staring at me. None of my clothes fit me anymore and I'm just generally feeling shit and keep crying! Why won't my baby just come out?

Woah, that was a long rant!

Hope TA is holding her baby right now!

mumof4aceboys · 21/06/2007 19:49

Thinking about it though - they can only leave you for so long after your waters have gone before they need to get baby out. Hope shes ok.

lulumama · 21/06/2007 19:52

96 hours from waters fully going is recommended by NICE as the maximum

have her waters goen?

justbeme · 21/06/2007 19:52

Im sure TA's other half will send me a text as soon as theres any info.

Glad Im not alone Holly - I took the dog out this morning and was quite sprightly, but as the days gone on, just getting out the chair and moving to another room has made me breathless and ive had pains in my fanjo so walking was hard.
It must be difficult for you - to keep your DD entertained as well.

mumof4aceboys · 21/06/2007 20:02

Lulu - TA said her water had gone yesterday & she believed they had ruptured them on Mon when they swept her.

daisyboo · 21/06/2007 20:05

They have lulu....they were giving her till this morning to go by herself, otherwise she was to be induced.....

Bumper...can't believe you're home already!! hope everything is going well!

justbeme · 21/06/2007 20:06
