Just in case we get locked out without realising!

OP posts:

TA - I know your not a fan of hospitals but if you went in & had some pethedine or morphine it will let you rest while your body works. Also makes baby a bit sleepy so you could rest after delivery. Just a thought?

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:31

Oooo that's good TA, minute long contractions are definately constructive! Are you coping? I would call the hosp now and say that you are feeling you need some help with the pain. G&A really does help and it gives you something to focus on and helps control your breathing.

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:33

oooh no! No pethidine/morphine yet

Paracetamol is fine for now. Not trying to be a hero, just don't like drugs, and the pain is not so bad that I am dreading each one.
I am trying to be positive - each one I have, is one less that I need to have, if that makes sense!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:35

YAAAYYYY maybe this is it now, no more waiting for me! Maybe no more false alarms!

While I can still move, I might repack bags, and check I have everything.

Back in a bit!

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 15:35

Well done TA - agree with holly that G&A is fab!! Let hubby av some then send him across room to get summat for you & watch him wobble!!!

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:36

Honestly TA the G&A works a treat! Get yourself to hospital and get puffing away! It's not really a drug and has no effect on the baby, it will take the edge off the pain and give you a focus away from the contraction. You will prob manage on that alone, a lot of people do, you don't have to have drugs.

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:37

Oh I have no prob with G&A, I will def use it, just don't want to be stuck at poxy hospital just yet!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:38

Paracetamol is kicking in. Feeling good again

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 15:38

Yeah - I did the last 2 with just G&A. FAB

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:39

Yes TA, but there is no G&A at home! It feels like being stoned, maybe you could get yourself a spliff and then stay at home longer !!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:39

That's what I hope to do, just G&A.

I am ok here for the moment, will call the hosp if it gets much worse.

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 15:40

lol holly - yes but u dont get the munchies!

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:41

This is really exciting! Everyone else has buggered off and is missing it! Deep breathes TA, in with the good cleansing air, out with the pain!

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:42

Lol!! No you don't get the munchies! My mw had to take it off me because it was making me fall asleep! That made me cross!

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:50

OMG I have to go now! I have to wake dd and then get going for my sweep...ewwww! TA if you are here when I get back I'll see you in a couple of hours, if not then loads of luck and hugs and I hope it is really quick and not too painful! Speak soon xxxx

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 15:59

TA - are you ok? Are the paracetamol helping still? Make a note of the time you took them as they usually give you some after delivery.

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 20/06/2007 16:00

Right I'm back from my reflexology!
I nearly missed it as I don't seem to be able to stay off the loo for more than 5 mins (seem to be able to sh*t through the eye of a needle at the mo IYKWIM)

TA - you must be so excited!!!!!! What a day for you! It's all going to plan now!! Brilliant!!!

I'm really rooting for you and Bumper today - keep us posted.

Are you still there? How you feeling now?

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 16:03

DKMA - shitting through the eye of a needle! Have you had a show yet? How did the reflexology go?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 20/06/2007 16:07

Have been 'showing' since monday - seems to have eased off now.
Reflexology was lovely - he was really moving about during it!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 20/06/2007 16:08

TA - are you still there?
Are you ok?

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 16:08

I'm back....I was off looking for a thread on sterilising that I saw ages ago....[smug post-natal emoticon]

You hanging in there TA?

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 16:10

DKMA...sounds like it's going to happen soon for you too!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 20/06/2007 16:15

Daisy - I hope so! I have never been one for feeling left out!!!

I don't seem to be having any pains though? Just achey and a bit crampy - I really want to go out for a walk cos it feels like sitting isn't helping but I don't want to leave the loo

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 20/06/2007 16:19

I'm now wondering if TA is atually 'crowning' on the living room floor or has nipped off to the hospital?

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 16:21

just remember the pains have got to start somewhere and crampy to start with sounds about right. It'll all be heloing anyway, and it sounds like your body is evacuating itself in preparation!

small snuffly baby is starting to grizzle....better go and attend to her every need!!
