quiet on here...
is everyone giving birth? Or has everyone moved over to the Dark Side (post natal )

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:01

Wow, TA it all sounds good! This time tomorrow you will hopefully be snuggling your new baby! I'm so pleased for you!

I'm going in for a sweep at 5, so hopefully that might kick things off for me! I was hoping after having a late first baby that this one might arrive on time, guess that's not gonna happen !

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:05

Farking hell

Every 4 minutes good LORD they smart somewhat don't they?!

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 15:06

wher've you all been hiding then? damn my sleeping baby...it's a bummer when there's no-one to talk to...I might just have to go off and do some housework or something!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:06

I have been hiding behind the pain of contractions

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 15:06

is that how far apart your contractions are TA? you're not too far from the hospital are you?

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:07

Good luck Holly with the sweep, I am sure you will be fine!

Do let us know how it goes. How are you anyway? you have been quiet for a few days.

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 15:07

and have you got a text-buddy???

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:09

Lol, yes they are blardy painful! I found they were like the worst period pains imaginable crossed with needing a poo more than you ever have before in your whole entire life! Then every couple of mins someone comes along and punches you in the stomach! Have you taken some paracetamol? They obv won't take the pain away, but they might take the edge off it. Hope you are coping ok!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:09

Well sometimes they are every 4 minutes, sometimes every 5 or 6, seems to depend on what I am doing.

I am only 10 minutes away from the hospital. I feel fine though, really, just hurts when I get one!

Perhaps I should take a paracetamol.

I thought I would wait before I couldn't talk (or type ) before going in.

DH has just bought down my bags so we're going to get those sorted in a mo.

Oh here comes another one.....

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 15:10

the foxy mrs brown has been a bit quiet too....anyone would think you were all in the latter stages of pregnancy FGS

derlor · 20/06/2007 15:12

AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH can't believe i've got to go and pick up DD from playgroup - TA cross your legs till i get back!!!!!!!!

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 15:12

i know the doulas joke about it TA, but do you have any clary sage? you can put it in a burner or a few drops in the bath!

Try getting DH to massage your back.

Have you got a tens machine?

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:12

JustBeMe is my text buddy, but wasn't she having pains too?

I am coping fine, it's not too bad. I am feeling pretty chilled out...tbh I just want to go to sleep for a while but can't see it happening, I have been up since 4am!

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 15:13

TA - things do tend to speed up when you get to 5cms and beyond. Id go in just for the G&A! Yur doing fab!! Good luck, thinking of you xx

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:14

I'm fine TA, just pissed off and tired! I'm actually quite upset that everyone is off having babies and I'm still here! I guess that's how you must feel too! I was so hopeful that after being induced with alice that it would not happen again, but I guess it probably will and I won't get my home birth !

God, that sounds like sour grapes! Sorry to moan, after all I am only one day overdue! I really hope you can have the baby tonight TA before you are induced xxx

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:14

No Clary sage, no TENS, ashamed to admit I don't even have a ball (Maybe that's why I am so overdue lol!)

Derlor, panic not, I'll be here a while yet! I hate hospitals, I'll be crowning before I go in

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 15:17

TA - wouldnt recommend crowning when you go in!! I had DS3 in the hospital reception area with about 50 or so shocked onlookers. You'd think they would have looked the other way but they didn't. Some even got rubber necks on em! Not good

justbeme · 20/06/2007 15:19

Hi!
No, not much action here TA from this morning! -
Just back from food shopping - have bought loads of meat and am going to cook some dinners to freeze. (see Im nesting!)

Have got little niggles in the top of my bump - but thats about it.

Good luck for later as im SURE you gonna have it tonight - with my DD when i went into hospital to be induced I was 3cm and then I had her naturally around 12 hrs later!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:20

Holly I understand, I really do, going overdue, even by just a day, is horrible. It's not sour grapes, I do feel for you. I am 17 days over. Hang in there

I don't want to patronise you but just try and chill out, relax, it will come (as you said to me!). I tried all the walking and pineapples and everything, in the end it all just seemed to do it of it's own accord.

Perhaps you are like me, just like your meat cooked on a low heat for longer

daisyboo · 20/06/2007 15:22

TA...see if you can get some rest. It might be a long night and you'll need all your strength!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:23

Just taken paracetamol.

Might have to call the hospital soon. Pain is getting pretty hard to handle!

mumof4aceboys · 20/06/2007 15:23

Holly - just read your profile - what a gorgeous DD!! You say that you dont like planning etc so maybe this is a really good baby who knows that and is just trying to be good???!!!

trendaverter · 20/06/2007 15:27

I will try but the pain won't let me rest for long

Contractions are now a minute long, about 5-6 minutes apart.

hollyandalice · 20/06/2007 15:28

I am a very chilled out person and won't let this upset me (much)! I just cook my babies for longer! If I go over the first 12 days into "expectant management" time I will have to be induced. The hosp is a 20-30 min drive away and I don't drive. Dp would not be able to get the time off work to take me in every day for checks so I would have to just be induced at 12 days and deal with it! Hopefully it'll happen before then and I won't have to think about it...la la la positive fluffy thoughts, my cervix is an opening flower etc etc!!
