No Doulas about this evening...they're obviously off being busy with RL clients....the cheek of them

will keep my distress call bumped though

hertsnessex · 19/06/2007 20:43

i am a doula - off out in 15mins to a client - but can i help?

cx

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 20:49

Hi Hertnessex!
I have a watery discharge, it doesn't smell of anything, it's clear, and it's only very minor - I just feel a bit 'wet' and have to go dry off every hour or so.
I am just wondering if it's normal.
If my waters have broken I haven't known about it!

I had a sweep yesterday where I had some mucous come out afterwards but yesterday I noticed a dampness which I put down to the sweep but it's gradually now getting heavier. Any ideas?

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 20:49

BTW thanks Daisy xx

derlor · 19/06/2007 20:51

hi everyone,
i'm back online, yippee.
it's been so long i feel like i've missed out on LOADS!!!!
Congratulations to all the new yummy mummies
thanks to Foxy for keeping me updated during my computer crash!!
WARNING - MOAN COMING!!!!......
i've been having a shitty time over the past few days - i've got thrush in my norks and feeding is agony - feels like glass i'm leaking instead of milk!! getting great support from DH, MW, HV and BF nurse specialist. However, i'm still really tearful and struggling a bit and feel really disapointed with the fact that i can't just enjoy my baby. i'm determined to keep feeding her and just need to grit my teeth meantime!!
anyway, enough moaning from me i'm going to scan back and TRY to catch up a bit on what you lot have been up to..... back later x

foxybrown · 19/06/2007 20:57

Welcome back Derlor!

I have bucket loads of sympathy for you with the thrush thing. Long hot needles in your norks. Shredded glass, yep! Its just awful and very for you.

I am desperately trying to clear mine up now so as not to pass it on to baby during delivery.

Makes me cringe just thinking about it. Have you got medication for you both? Is there anything else you can do?

derlor · 19/06/2007 21:12

believe me Foxy i'm doing EVERYTHING possible - my MW/HV felt so sorry for me (as i was sobbing to them both ) i now have daktarin gel for us both plus cream for me and i've also taken fluclonizole yesterday so majorly overdosing on all available thrush treatment!!! - just waiting (very impatiently) for it all to start working in 2-3 days i should feel an improvement. roll on that day!!!
how are you doing anyway - how was your peaceful weekend?

foxybrown · 19/06/2007 21:17

weekend was lovely thanks.

Didn't shout until tea-time tonight

So sorry to hear about the thrush. How are things generally? Are you ok?

derlor · 19/06/2007 21:24

generally i think i feel fine just get a bit tearful whenever i talk about the feeding thing - DH and HV keeping a close eye on me though cause i had horrendous PND for 2.5 years after DS was born so think they are a bit concerned - i think i will be fine though once the thrush clears up cause i feel happy enough otherwise - Abbie is great feeds 3 hourly during the day and at night she feeds between 10 and 11pm (my bedtime anyway so very handy!!) then is up between 2 and 3am for between 1/2 - 1 hour then that is her till about 7 or 8am!!!! pretty good huh!! she is a very clever girl

derlor · 19/06/2007 21:26

it's quiet on here tonight isn't it - did i scare everyone off??

foxybrown · 19/06/2007 21:26

That is good!
Well done Abbie - that's about as good as it gets!

foxybrown · 19/06/2007 21:27

Gordon Ramsey's on - I reckon they're watching him

mumof4aceboys · 19/06/2007 21:27

TA - I shud call the delivery suite & ask them - they shud do a swab which tells them straight away if its ur water.

derlor · 19/06/2007 21:29

oh yeah of course, watch them all flock back on at 10pm - all hot and bothered and feeling flirty!!

doggus · 19/06/2007 21:29

Hi derlor - thrush in your tits sounds AWFUL, never had it, can't help, but sending you lots of sympathy vibes. In yer fanj is bad enough.

TA - hope the fluid is a good sign. Have you got any Tena pads - I've just bought some as protection against waters breaking while I am in M&S....

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 21:35

This place has been empty all day - where is pingu and ria? did they give birth? Where is holly?

I am going to DAU tomorrow first thing to get wet bits checked, it's quite light really so I shan't panic - I can't go anywhere tonight, I am so exhausted I could pass out

derlor · 19/06/2007 21:36

Hi Doggus, believe me it is like being tortured!!! right now i wish i was a man this is my first experience of it and i never really appreciated how bad it was.

just switched over to Gordon Ramsey to try to see the attraction - just don't get it, he is SO not my type! (sorry for all those groupies i may have offended )

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 21:36

Poor Derlor Yeasty norks must be v painful

Hopefully you will shift it soon.

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 21:37

I don't fancy Gordon, he's not my type either, but he's funny and I like watching him. Let's face it, better than Ainsley....

derlor · 19/06/2007 21:37

Hello TA my lovely how are you getting on? (apart from your leaking!) Are you being induced on Friday, is that still the plan?

derlor · 19/06/2007 21:39

oh yeah DEFINATELY better than Ainsley! i completely agree - mmmmmm those runners are a bit tasty though!!

foxybrown · 19/06/2007 21:41

mmmm

That's better

Klaw · 19/06/2007 21:45

TA I'm here!!

Have you had a sniff of your panites? (hope there's no men listening? )

Amniotic fluid is sweet smelling as opposed to pee. If you have a hindwaters leak then you will get a trickle, on and off and is what DomesticGrumpess thinks must have happened even though she thought there was lots and we walked for miles to get labour started. She waited with checks every couple of days and had her triumphant labour 10ish days later. Anyhoo, I'd say to keep yourself clean, frequent pant changes and no unecessary checking up there to minimise infection. Keep an eye on your temp, be patient and know that labour will be soon, hopefully before Friday! If you get to Friday then it's possible that you will be very favourable for induction (I hope) and things will go relatively smoothly for you.

How does that sound? Did i miss anything when I scrolled to catch up?

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 21:46

Perverts
I am good! Well as good as can be expected. Still (moderately) cheerful

The plan is to be induced friday, T+19

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 21:51

Thanks so much Klaw, that's actually just what I needed to hear. I don't really want to go rushing off to the hospital tonight given I go there every morning for monitoring anyway.

Sounds quite similar to DG and if she went to 10 days no hassle I can hold on til friday!

Whats you say seems very sensible and makes lots of sense.
It doesn't smell of anything from what I can make out, but it's def not pee.

Thank you very much! I feel a bit reassured by that - as long as it's nothing I should worry about (I know you can't see for yourself - probably a good thing! - but I am not too worried, I just wondered if normal).
Thanks again
