DKMA - glad ur ok. Been worrying about u!

Seansgirl - my DH had the snip.

Ive put sum pics on my profile of my 4 in their PJ's if any1's interested?

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 12:08

Hey SG .....welcome back and big congratulations etc etc etc. We were so glad to hear that Jake arrived safe and sound after all your worries over the last few weeks. Give it a few months and you'll be itching to have another one

Sounds promising for some of you, if a little bit ickyy in the pants department.....lol though...just wait till afterwards .

I'm glad to say I finally have my ankles and feet back...its been a while since I saw my ankle bones but its all looking lovely this morning, no left over fatness at all, although still a bit sore on the top of my feet. I'm sure them going down has accounted for most of my weight loss as there seemed to be about 4lbs of fluid in each one . Now I just have to work on getting my "normal" clothes back on...I'm stuck with 2 pairs of jogging bottoms and my too smart for casual work maternity trousers at the moment! I wouldn't mind wearing my maternity jeans or combats as they're quite nice, but they're under bump ones and sit on my scar line.

Going to do the school run this afternoon....wish me luck!

hollyandalice · 19/06/2007 12:26

Ewww..I am now a fully paid up member of the snotty knickers crew!! YUK!

Hey SG!! Glad you are back with us, I've missed you! Your little one sounds yummy! Sorry your birth was a bit shitty, but glad it was all ok in the end.

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 12:32

Yay Holly!
Welcome to the slime club. We can compare notes on colour and consistency.
I particularly liked Bumpers 'snail trail' comment.

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 12:33

c'mon babies.....

no news from Ria?.....who is her text buddy?

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 12:34

i'm off to have my lunch before it gets too graphic on the snottiness

hollyandalice · 19/06/2007 12:39

Well, there was no blood, just snot! Not getting too excited though, I had a show after my sweep on my due date with dd and I was still 2 weeks late! Why does having babies have to be so gross?!

Sorry daisy, hope I didn't put you off your lunch!

Ria's text buddy is catkin. If we don't hear anything this evening I'll give her a text myself, catkin might be a bit busy to update.

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 12:58

mmmm...it was scrambled eggs as well.....nice!!

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 13:07

I had that chinese soup that's all stringey and gooey and clear.

Just kidding.

doggus · 19/06/2007 13:12

DKMAFME - I too have lots of grim brown discharge - I just rang the midwife and she confirmed that 'it is probably a bit of a show'. As I understand it, that means bugger all really, labour could be a day away or two weeks away - am I right everyone?

Nice to have you back seansgirl, sorry about the whole bad birth thing.

Ria - I loved the way your typing went tits up as you seemed to have a contraction! Hope it is going OK.

doggus · 19/06/2007 13:13

TA and daisy - well that's buggered up my lunch! I'm going to have to eat something less offensive like icecream, shucks.

annobal · 19/06/2007 13:21

Hi Seansgirl, welcome back! Sorry your birth wasn't a great experience but glad that little Jake is doing well.

bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 13:34

Well you disgusting girls...I have been very productive, I have made lemon drizzle cake and lemon drizzle muffins! I have been to the Asian supermarket and tonight I'm going to make a very HOT thai red curry, done some washing which is hanging outside and in about 20 minutes my yoga teacher will be here [smug emoticon pretending to be able to cope with real life whilst 9months pregnant]!

Good god, bumper, and this is your anti-nesting phase! I would hate to see you being efficient....my day has been the usual struggle to get up before 11, dealing with emails and heating up some soup!

bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 13:40

Well, I like to prioritise food over tidying the house! So I guess shopping and baking (and ultimately eating) is my form of nesting! Wish I was a clean freak though!

annobal · 19/06/2007 13:45

LOL Bumper. Have also been shopping and cooking (my freezer is now full of pasta sauce and soup and enough choc cake to feed an army) but feeling totally knackered and due out in an hour for school run and b'day party afterwards. On the plus side, I'm picking up DH on the way home so he can take over.

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 13:46

I need to work on a gluten free version of mars LDC....the muffins sound better.

did you just use a basic muffin recipe?....if not, share please!

bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 13:50

Ooh, annobal, you've been busy too (my freezer is full of supermarket ready meals - usually considered by me to be devil's spawn!).

Daisy the lemon drizzle recipe is huge so some people suggested a loaf and muffins just from the ldc recipe. They don't take nearly as long, but the loaf took nearly an hour . I think mars usually makes it in a big roasting tray, which I will try next time.

bumperlicious · 19/06/2007 13:52

Daisy, how about these here , or here , not sure that it's the cake mix that matters so much, it's all about the drizzle!

trendaverter · 19/06/2007 13:54

My god bumper waaaayyy too efficient

My day...get up, go to hospital for monitoring, potter around house, have a nap, have a go at the person that calls me while I am having my nap, feeling guilty after snapping at the innocent person, think should probably turn off ringtone, forget.
Tell dh to do dinner/pick up dinner.
MN in the gaps.

Same routine every day. I can't even fathom yoga.

Actually I wasn't too bad a couple of weeks ago but now am so overdue I am amazed, I can't even get out the chair without wincing.

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 13:55

I'll try an adaptation using GF flour and report back!

aaarrrggghhhh...another pooey bum! my poor dd has constant nappy rash from the amount of pooing she does!

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 13:57

bumper...just checked out those links....I'm humbled as I'm actually a member of coeliac uk and didn't realise their were recipes on the website!

daisyboo · 19/06/2007 14:01

false alarm, she's just farting like a trooper!

doggus · 19/06/2007 14:05

TA - you do sound like me! I am so misanthropic that when the phone rings I start snarling like a dog even when I am not napping.

foxybrown · 19/06/2007 14:18

Phew! Took me ages to catch up with you and your bodily fluids!

Ria - that sounds exciting!

Daisy, totally agree with Mumof4, being organised is the key! If it helps, this is what I know:
Do as much the day before as you can. Cook tea in the morning, the end of the childrens day is worst bit IME. Hire a cleaner. Don't do ironing. Its OK to send your child to school looking like Stig of the Dump, covered in pen, mismatching socks (tell them its Odd Sock Day). Just don't do the school run (esp afternoon one) in your pj's cos you'll feel like a bag o'shite and will cry even more (when you don't think that's possible). Have a shower every day. (That's my aim).

It is early days, and it gets easier. Once Em gets into some sort of routine it'll fall into place.

And so sorry to hear about your mum . I really feel for you.
