Ladies, help me figure out what to think!! Although I know there's nothing to be done until Monday...
So yesterday I've had some brown spotting. Ended up in EPU. Had a scan which showed one foetus but it measured 6+1 rather than 7+5 so all was declared fine but too early for heartbeat.
This morning I had dark red bleeding with blood clots. Ended up in hosp but no scans available till Monday.
I'm now wondering if the baby stopped growing at 6 wks.. if I was 7+5 and the baby was developing as normal, there should've been a heartbeat seen yesterday? Or is it just top early and it can all be fine despite the bleeding? Realistically, if I am having mc, I kno the nothing can be done. And even the scan on Mon may be inconclusive. I've had no problems with my first so all this is all very unfamiliar!
I'm on my own with ds1 this weekend as well so timing really isn't great...

Stormwhale · 27/10/2018 13:23

@Azure83 - how worrying for you. I'm so sorry but I don't think any of us will have the answer. It could be your dates are out and so next week they could find a heart beat. Or it could be dates are right and baby isn't ok. You just wont know until the scan. Really hoping it is a positive outcome for you though. Handholding through the weekend with you. Flowers

twig1234 · 27/10/2018 13:24

Hi Azure,
Sorry to hear this as it does cause concern and is a waiting game. The same has happened to me. Had a scan at 6weeks 6 days and large gestation sac (too large) and nothing seen. ? an area that would be 5 weeks 3 days but no heartbeat. It's inconclusive and I need to go back for repeat in 7-10 days. I'm certain of my dates though. It has happened to me before and was a MMC. I don't feel as pregnant but still feel wiped out.
It could be that it's too early and a repeat scan will all be fine or that it indicates miscarriage. The sac area in my case was meant to be collapsing in which it almost certainly not good news.
I send love xx

toasterstrudle · 27/10/2018 14:00

@Azure83 and @twig1234, thinking of you both. Really praying for good news for you both. Thanks

toasterstrudle · 27/10/2018 14:03

Also re info, completely agree with @Stormwhale about what it could mean @Azure83. It could mean your dates are out and it's too early to see anything, or it could be that it stopped developing at 6 weeks. Fingers crossed for Monday.

JBCG · 27/10/2018 15:27

My spotting from last night is getting heavier and has continued all day - I'm nearing 20 hours of bleeding now with mild cramping. It isn't what I would describe as 'period like bleeding' yet but heavy spotting still. Should I be concerned? Where I live doesn't have an EPU and so to speak to a doctor I'd have to go to A&E. I don't know if I'm just overly worrying at the moment and should wait it out a little longer or whether I should try and get a scan at the hospital. Any advice very welcome x

jacquejacque · 27/10/2018 15:32

@JBCG how far along are you again my love? So sorry this is worrying for you

JBCG · 27/10/2018 15:47

@jacquejacque to be honest I'm not sure. I stopped taking Cerazette on 13th September but didn't have a period or withdrawal bleed before BFP 2 weeks ago. I had some spotting and cramping earlier this week and had a scan that showed a black blob in my womb but nothing in the black blob so the doctor said I couldn't have been more than 5 weeks but he wasn't sure. I have a scan scheduled in 9 days to see if they can get a better idea of how far along I am.

jacquejacque · 27/10/2018 15:55

Bless you. So you could be about 6 weeks now, or just under?

I'd maybe call your GP if they're still open and ask them to call you back - that's what I did when I was spotting last week and mine was only a little bit. They called me straight back and fast tracked me a scan for a couple of days later. I do have a history of early mc though.

Failing that, put your feet up and try to relax for now (speaking from experience I k ow that is very much easier said than done) - if the pain gets bad - I'd go to A&E just in case. But trust your instinct and if you think you need to go then do. You could always try calling 111 in the interim for some advice xxx

Here for a hand hold and a chat if you need it sweets xxx

JBCG · 27/10/2018 16:14

@jacquejacque thank you very much. Sadly no GP access on weekends either. I live in the Channel Islands and we don't have the NHS 🤷🏻‍♀️ so paying for a&e is the only option really. I know you can't put a price on peace of mind but £400 is still a lot! I think I'll go if it gets worse but if it stays the same then I'll try and hold out for Monday to get to a gp x

jacquejacque · 27/10/2018 16:29

@JBCG oh my goodness! £400?? Crikey.

In that case I'd say sit tight, put a film on and get a takeaway in. You'll know if your instinct tells you you need help, but otherwise I don't think there would be much they could do for the bleeding so you're possibly better resting for now. Big hugs chuck, it must feel rubbish not knowing 😞 xx

socktastic · 27/10/2018 17:52

@JBCG so sorry lovely. I really hope things get better and spotting stops. It's awful worrying, been there. I had a mc in may. It was horrible but my body got back on track quickly. The not knowing what's happening is the worst part.
Fingers crossed for a positive outcome CakeFlowers

Reastiepeace · 27/10/2018 18:20

JB if you’re really worrying then maybe go to a&e? I had a mc and had a private scan where they told me I had had a mc. They told me I had to go straight away to a & e to be scanned and check it wasn’t an ectopic as they couldn’t rule this out. I thought I’d be wasting everyone’s time at a&e and it was silly to go and I should wait but they insisted at the scan place. A&e were wonderful and I only had to wait an hour or so for a scan and blood test and they didn’t make me feel that I was wasting anyone’s time or that I shouldn’t have gone. It was a mc for me but it doesn’t mean it will definitely be for you but it’s the not knowing.

keyboardjellyfish · 27/10/2018 18:22

Hi everyone :) I just wanted to cautiously pop my head in and say hello. I'm unexpectedly pregnant (I'm single) with an EDD of 18th June, apparently. I've done one test so far and am confirming on Monday morning with a first response and a clearblue weeks one. Feeling a lot of emotions- I guess we'll see what Monday holds. Yesterday's line was pretty faint so honestly I'm not sure what to think. Anyway, hello, for now! I'm cramping a lot and generally feeling grumpy with sore boobs and waves of sicky. Fuuuun. This will be my first baby but not first pregnancy.

Kescilly · 27/10/2018 18:27

Hi @keyboardjellyfish and welcome.

@JBCG I’m so sorry, the uncertainty must be difficult enough without worrying about spending all that money. If the bleeding and pain get worse, I’d go. But I suppose otherwise you might need to try and rest like jacquejacque said. Thinking of you.

JBCG · 27/10/2018 18:49

Thanks everyone. Yeah I'm not sure because it isn't heavy bleeding and the cramps are mild .. it's just heavy spotting that's been going on for a whole day now. Do you think that it could be a sign of mc or do you think it's just normal spotting? Everything I've read says it's perfectly normal to get some spotting in the first trimester but it doesn't say how much 'some spotting' is! I'm so confused and worried but then also am thinking I may be overreacting - I just don't know what to do. My boobs are also nowhere near as sore today as they have been over the last 3 weeks.

Welcome @keyboardjellyfish x

Reastiepeace · 28/10/2018 07:04

JBCG how about other symptoms, have you still got other symptoms? When I had a mc I remember all of my symptoms improved initially then I had spotting for several days before it started bleeding. I can’t remember how much spotting though as it was a long time ago. I guess you won’t know for sure until you get the scan. What about if you took a pg test and compared the strength of the line against what you got before? That might be really bad advice (in which case, I’m sorry) I’m just trying to think of ideas as I know how awful it must feel to be in such limbo.

Hey keyboard, welcome

toasterstrudle · 28/10/2018 07:24

I'd be wary of the pregnancy test because after a certain point I believe your hcg levels get too high for it to read and the test can appear to fade again so might worry you? Could be wrong though 🤷🏻‍♀️

@JBCG sorry if I've missed it - can you get a scan this week just for reassurance? I'd avoid a&e unless you have severe pains I think, especially if it'll cost you £400!

I'm 6+5 today and starting to really hope epu send me the date for my early scan soon! Really just want to know all's ok and developing as it should after the mmc as I had all symptoms then too and nothing to suggest all was not well. Fingers crossed for us all!

Skee · 28/10/2018 07:32

Just popping in to say thank you for all the lovely messages of similar experiences, much appreciated and gives me hope! I’ve been pretty manic the last couple of days so not had a chance to catch up (at least it’s pushing the time in!)

So heartbroken for you poppyseed2, really hope you’re ok, very much love x x

Welcome to the new joiners and congratulations! x x

Thinking of everyone with worries and illness, big hugs x x

Reastiepeace · 28/10/2018 07:43

Read toasters comment about pg test, ignore my idea if that’s the case, sorry.

jacquejacque · 28/10/2018 08:33

Can somebody give me a bit of a shaking and a talking to please? I've convinced myself that something is going to go dreadfully wrong and I know that others here have genuine concerns and worries so I don't know why I'm being so silly, but I'm laid in bed panicking and working myself up.

Yesterday I wiped and saw the tiniest bit of red, but couldn't for the life of me replicate it so wondering if it's from a little cut. I also felt less sick yesterday.

But apart from that I'm fine. Slight backache which might be what's triggering me, as that was something I had when I miscarried.

I'm 7+3 today and I know the chance of mc is going down, especially since we've seen a heartbeat, but I cannot help but have this doom and gloom feeling. Is it just me?

toasterstrudle · 28/10/2018 08:50

I could be wrong @Reastiepeace, had just heard that before somewhere! X

JBCG · 28/10/2018 10:16

I'm still spotting and cramping but woke up to very sore boobs again. So I'm trying to tell myself that the spotting is normal and cramping is just stretching/ligament pains. Sore boobs is the only symptom I've had so far .. other than overly emotional which I don't seem to be any more- but I think I might just be numb from the worry if that makes sense? I will call my doctor tomorrow to try and arrange a scan. Thank you all for your support.

@jacquejacque hand hold xx I think everyone worries, especially if you've mc'd before but just try to stay as positive as you can. Easier said than done I know, thinking of you x

coastergirl · 28/10/2018 10:27

@JBCG I know it's so worrying, but when I was having my little boy, the bleeding I had was enough that I really thought I was losing him on several occasions. Scans showed otherwise and he's now a healthy (and crazy) 3 year old. Thinking of you.

I'm getting myself all in a twist over dates. Basically I had a miscarriage in early August. Should have been 6.5 weeks but scan showed a tiny sac of roughly 4 weeks, so was never really viable. I got my first period 5 weeks after the mc, then found out I was pregnant just over 5 weeks after that. However I was using Internet cheapies which I now don't trust, because when I eventually used a frer and cb they were strong positives. So I don't really know how far I am. I want to arrange a private scan but don't want to go too early, because I don't want there to be any doubts. I did a cb digital on Thursday and it still said 2-3 weeks. This morning I got 3+. So if you implant roughly day 9, counting on from there it looks like my period dates might be accurate. Am I confusing others as much as myself? Does 3+ equal a pregnancy of 6 weeks? My lmp dates say I'm 6+4 today. 🙈

socktastic · 28/10/2018 10:38

Only wisdom I can offer is in my experience ics stent very sensitive. Took a few extra days for them to register s result than the result I got with cb
