@DoAsDreamersDo I had the coil before ttc. Not going to lie, it was unpleasant, caused a wave of period cramps and a slight pinch. But I've also been told that may have been because I chose to have it before I had children.
It feels so surreal, we've decided to go for a private scan after 8 weeks, I just keep feeling like it's not happening and we won't get that far. Trying to relax and enjoy it at the same time.

LimpLettice · 21/03/2019 18:57

I loved my coil. Low dose Jaydess stopped my periods or any symptoms, easy peasy. Not going to lie, it wasn't that pleasant going in, but compared to childbirth? Pfft.

Congrats Aph! It's so hard in the early weeks but just take it one day at a time.

Si1ver · 21/03/2019 22:20

Congratulations @Aph413 that's great news!

@Hopeislost yes super weird. I remember saying to my husband when I was pregnant that the upside of the IVF was that we'd never have to worry about contraception again. It feels very strange to be using condoms and booking coil fittings.

I loved my copper coil, I react badly to synthetic hormones. It was not pleasant going in, I needed local anesthetic in my cervix to get it to dilate. I'm hoping it's going to be easier this time. That said, I'd go through it again even if it hurt the same, totally worth it for hassle free hormone free contraception.

DoAsDreamersDo · 22/03/2019 22:18

I guess it can’t be bad as an episiotomy and forceps eh? 😉 (hopefully not anyway)

Si1ver · 23/03/2019 18:38

@DoAsDreamersDo walk in the park love.

WonkyDonk87 · 05/04/2019 22:39

Hello ladies, how are we all doing? MiniWonk is 8 weeks old today! It's absolutely flown by, time is going too quickly.
Just been to the loo and noticed EWCM and thought of you all Grin

SoozC · 06/04/2019 08:30

I'm sure that should be MiniDonk! Grin

Thanks for thinking of us with your EWCM! HmmConfusedGrin I've been having it since the lochia stopped, it's a bit weird not to be logging it somewhere!

The boy is 15 weeks now. Time goes so fast! He is very sweet though and I'm really enjoying being a mum! I'm also on my way to making a lovely set of friends with babies a similar age and I can't tell you how nice it is to have a social life for once!!

Hope everyone else is doing okay x

WonkyDonk87 · 06/04/2019 08:34

To be fair... she's not really mini at all, weigh in at the last HV check was 12lbs10oz and that was a week or two ago Blush she's a right chunk!

SoozC · 06/04/2019 10:02

Blimey, Wonky, that is, er, a little chunky, yes, sorry. The boy was 11lb 11oz at 12 weeks! But he looks heavy; I see plenty of babies his age or younger who are apparently heavier but look dinky by comparison.

OP posts:
WonkyDonk87 · 06/04/2019 10:15

I've put up a pic on fb for you Sooz 😂 - deffo not dinky! Bumped into the support worker from the homebirth team this week and she was incredulous/impressed I'd done it all on breastmilk 😂

LimpLettice · 06/04/2019 10:55

Hey yammers. She's gorgeous, Wonky. Think we should see some updated pix of all the yammy babies.

Boy is an utter chunk too, he'd hit 14lbs by about 15 weeks. Mummas magic milk. He's 5 months next week which is mental. We're still manic though, moving next week, which has all happened super fast. No new mum friends here I'm afraid, I'm way too old for the mum groups in this area and have just been too busy to make a proper effort.

I

Hopeislost · 06/04/2019 14:09

Aw I'm jealous of all your beautiful babies! 38 weeks here. Struggling with PGP and just been told that I'll be having a planned c section as baby is still breech.

I just can't wait for it to be over and the baby to be here!

SoozC · 06/04/2019 17:41

You're nearly there, Hope! Best of luck x

Where are you moving to, Limp? We're moving a few miles down the road in just over a week! House isn't ready but oh well!

OP posts:
LimpLettice · 07/04/2019 06:04

Nearly there, Hope!

20 doors up the same road, Sooz. Such an adventurer. Ha. We like where we are, I love my house but we are rammed in like sardines. We've found something twice the size which is a beautiful 30's semi, and has been completely renovated. It's perfect.

I'm so tired. I've got so much packing to do, a terrible head cold and a baby who is on his third wake up and has been up for 2 hours whinging. Which would be fine but my lovely DD was up twice for hours with sickness the night before, so I can't breathe and haven't slept more than a couple of hours for days. DH is about to get a not very nice wake up call!

WonkyDonk87 · 07/04/2019 19:35

So excited for you Hope, keep us updated!
Good luck with the move Limp. We've been talking about house renovations today. Won't have the money for years but still fun to start planning. Hope you managed to have a restful day and you all feel better soon

LimpLettice · 25/04/2019 14:34

How are you getting on, Hope?

We're in, we've been here a fortnight tomorrow. Absolutely in love with the house and garden although we've still got shed loads of unpacking to do. Boyo is a delight but still sleeping crappily and not keen on being put down while I get on. He loathes the sling too, so not much getting done.

Are you all settled Sooz?

How's everyone else doing too?

SoozC · 28/04/2019 08:21

Glad to hear you've settled in well, Limp. New houses are good, aren't they? We've settled okay, been here nearly two weeks ourselves. DH has been like a madman trying to unpack. I've been holding the boy lots! He's been so fussy lately. DH thinks he's bored, I think he's teething!

Very very tired though. I'm surprised I manage to get through the days. Don't ask me how I'm going to cope when I'm back at work at the beginning of June...

DoAsDreamersDo · 05/05/2019 16:45

Hey ladies, how’s everyone getting on? Any new baby news anyone?

Pinkemi · 10/05/2019 15:32

Hi guys! So sorry i fell off the radar.. we have had quite a few curve balls thrown our way.

I have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Sad my after food readings are classed within the limits but my fasting numbers are too high. Only got diagnosed yesterday and have to keep an eye on my fasting levels over the weekend. If i cant get them to come down.. then i have to go on metemorfin... which i really dont wanna do!! Feeling pretty down in the dumps right now to be honest. Nearly 31 weeks and thought id never get it.

maddiie3 · 10/05/2019 16:08

Pink Aw no! Sorry to hear that. Atleast it's been caught though. I don't know too much about it but hope it all works out ok for you. Not long until babies here now!

I'm just ticking along.. 29 weeks now. I'm stupidly anxious about stillbirth and my low Papp-a. I have an anterior placenta and just don't feel baby much so it's hard to monitor movements. But the end is in sight..

MynameisJune · 11/05/2019 04:05

Baby June No2 was born yesterday at 19:55, totally in love with her even if I’ve only slept for 20 mins since 6am yesterday.

Hope everyone is well. Can’t tell you how pleased I am to never have to TTC or give birth again!

WonkyDonk87 · 11/05/2019 22:44

Congratulations @MynameisJune ! Are you home and ok? Hope you are being well looked after.
MiniWonk is snoring beside me, can't believe we've made it to three months already. Grin
Take lots of pics of these early days - and make sure someone takes pictures of you with her too.

Aph413 · 11/05/2019 23:12

Congratulations @MynameisJune such wonderful news.
I'm now 12 weeks so I feel a bit more comfortable posting now, hope it's ok to share my scan.

Yammer Grads
LimpLettice · 12/05/2019 18:02

Lovely Yammering, thread.

Big massive congrats to you June, this bit is my favourite. Tiring but just so lovely. And to Aph too, great scan pic there.

Maddiie I had an anterior placenta with my DD and felt nothing til very late, and then fairly minimal, which definitely added to my anxiety. It's tough but you're so nearly there!

Oh and Pink you might remember I had GD, along with another Yammer or two, S1lver i think. I was so upset but once I got into the swing of it I was fine and had no trouble staying unmediated. I did ignore all NHS advice and follow the GdUk Facebook page rules though. It'll be ok and it'll be gone before you know it.

Pinkemi · 12/05/2019 21:09

@limplettice thanks lovely.. sadly i think i wont have the chance to stay unmedicated.. they gave me a deadline until tomorrow to get my fasting levels below 5.3.. and i havent been able to do that. :-(

Ive joined the GDuk group on Facebook (i think) and have been reading it as much as possible. Just dont want to be medicated. :-(
