Calling all up-duffed Yammers! Come and continue the swearing and the love on our pregnancy thread, and let us never forget how lucky we are! Smile

S1lver! Massive congratulations on the birth of your boy, I look forward to a picture! Lovely name too. The first of many upward wees, I'm sure Grin. Agreed, clever boy. Hope you're recovering well and eating all the sweet apples you fancy.

LimpLettice · 30/01/2019 07:52

Oh and Wonky, I've no idea why so many women do that! Yes, it can be tough, but utter codswallop. Hormones, for a start, the post birth bliss effect is fabulous, and ffs, if it was so terrible there would be an awful lot more one child families. After a flipping shit time conceiving, miscarriages and then hard pregnancy, we've decided not to bother with having my coil put back in, and if another happens so be it. And I'm 41, knackered and already have a 9 year gap. So it's not all bad!

Hopeislost · 30/01/2019 10:00

Congratulations @Si1ver !

Pinkemi · 30/01/2019 17:11

Congrats @Si1ver!!

Sorry for radio silence my end.. have a telephone consultation with well being team next week. Feeling so much better this week.. so it feels like its all gonna be a bit wasted.. but will do the call etc.

Keeping myself busy with doing all the stuff i havent /wont have time for when the baby comes like knitting. Smile

WonkyDonk87 · 31/01/2019 21:27

We have snow!!!! Just been out for dinner and it's settled Grin (luckily my DH is northern and fine with driving in it - I shall be staying in tomorrow!)

Hope all Upduffed Yammers are cosy, warm, and staying safe if it's icy where they are.

LimpLettice · 01/02/2019 07:26

We do this morning, Wonky. DD is livid, glowing in fury as not only is school closed but she was supposed to be performing at Young Voices at the o2 today but transport has been cancelled. It's fairly deep and I'm secretly relieved to have her home in the warm. Hope everyone is having a cosy snow day safely at home.

Pinkemi · 01/02/2019 11:21

Ah its freezing here but no snow! DH is quite pleased with that as he has a lot of work on and didnt want to take a snow day!

Hopeislost · 01/02/2019 13:10

No snow here!

Just got a call arranging a GTT as I've failed the GCT. Rubbish!

DoAsDreamersDo · 02/02/2019 18:54

Congratulations @Si1ver x I hope you are recovering well and enjoying your little boy xx

I’ve been a bit absent from this thread (life with a newborn has taken over) but I hope that everyone is doing ok x

Si1ver · 03/02/2019 11:00

Thanks for all the congratulations, we finally got home from hospital yesterday. The boy had an infection so we got kept in for IV antibiotics. I'm so happy to be home though, I struggled really badly with the hospital environment - the lack of privacy and control and comfort. I might have cried with relief when we got home.

We had a great night's sleep last night. Everyone is feeling much better today.

Pinkemi · 07/02/2019 16:45

how is life with your little boy @Si1ver? Hope its all going well for you.

Things here are slowly getting better.. I am feeling a lot more human (even though i have caught another cold) and am back at work this week.

SoozC · 08/02/2019 22:15

Hope - good luck with the GTT. It's a bugger having three blood tests in a few hours.

Pink - glad you're feeling a little better. I hope your pregnancy continues to improve and you can just enjoy it!

Dreamers - me too, things just "busy", even though all that means is swapping the boy from one boob to the other, changing dirty nappies and washing impossibly small clothing!

Things are okay here. Got a bedtime routine but the boy still wakes pretty much every hour from about 3am/4am. I'm averaging around 4 hours broken sleep a night.

Only the fact that I'm totally in love with him makes it all okay! One little smile or his hand reaching out to me or feeling him completely relax on my chest reminds me it's all worth it! 😍

Well..... we've had an eventful day Grin
DD arrived at 12:51. Delivered by DH as no midwife. Waters broke at 1am. We'd been visited at 10.15-11.15 and assured I was still in early stages of labour and to expect it to go on all day. It all ramped up after that and midwife arrived a few minutes after she was born (after a frantic phone call from DH whilst I was crowning!) We're all ok, albeit a bit shell shocked.

SoozC · 08/02/2019 22:54

Whoo, Wonky, congratulations! Blimey, sounds like an arrival and a half! Did you do it all at home with no pain relief? I am in awe! So glad she's doing well, enjoy the squishy cuddles, it's the BEST feeling! xx

TENS machine up to level 4... that was it Confused

LimpLettice · 09/02/2019 08:35

Ah Wonky, that's amazing! Congratulations on your girl and an interesting delivery!

It's been quiet in here hasn't it. We're doing great, just busy. Gearing up to get the house sold ASAP, endless feeds, ever growing boy. I've just ordered a cot bed as this chunk is already outgrowing his Snuzpod, it's going far too fast.

I'm also waiting on a breast clinic appointment, as what I thought might be a blocked duct has been deemed most certainly not, and is actually a 5cm growth of some kind. I'm not especially worried, most likely a cyst, but I do wish they'd hurry up and get my letter sorted.

Hopeislost · 09/02/2019 15:31

Wow congratulations @WonkyDonk87 !

Si1ver · 09/02/2019 18:38

OMG @Wonks, amazing news. Also how hardcore are you? Home delivery with only TENS? Congratulations.

Hope you're ok @Limp and the referral comes through soon.

WonkyDonk87 · 09/02/2019 18:48

Thanks lovelies ☺️

Limp hope all is ok and they get you seen ASAP.

SoozC · 10/02/2019 15:42

Hope they get round to sorting you soon, Limp, and it's not too painful x

I know what you mean about time going quickly!

I am considering a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour around Easter, but term-time so hopefully not as busy. Anyone up for coming with me?!

Pinkemi · 11/02/2019 16:50

@WonkyDonk87 Congrats on the birth of your little girl! How exciting! :) Can't believe you had a home birth.. well done! That is my idea of hell! lol

@SoozC ahhhh i love the harry potter studio! But I have been about 2 or 3 times already.. although that was before they opened up privet drive or the forbidden forest.. so i "could" go again. haha

Nothing to report here.. Slowly getting into the swings of normality once again!

maddiie3 · 11/02/2019 17:04

@WonkyDonk87 Congrats!! Glad the birth went ok even if eventful

@Pinkemi Really glad to hear you're feeling better, hope you're fully back to normality soon.

Just doddling along here really, I fainted in work last week and had to have a scan just in case and all was well, was nice to see baby again too despite all the drama. 22 days until my 20 week scan so just trying to sit tight until then and try push all scary thoughts back. God pregnancy is long isn't it.

Hopeislost · 12/02/2019 14:46

@SoozC I'd love to go but my EDD is April 15th so will be a bit early for us.

I'm starting to feel like I spend all my time in appointments. I spent 3 hours at the hospital yesterday for my GTT and I'm back again this afternoon for a growth scan (fundal measurement is 4 weeks ahead!)

MynameisJune · 12/02/2019 18:28

Huge congratulations @si1ver and @wonkydonk87 I’m so pleased for the safe, if eventful, arrivals.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 13/02/2019 14:21

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA. I'm still feeling physically shit. New problems have been potentially pointed out with my heart. Teddy is good though, he feeds four hourly and sleeps well. I have my first session of psychotherapy this evening so I'm hoping that will help mentally.

@WonkyDonk87. Wow that sounds eventful! Teddy was nearly born on my top landing floor space potentially to be delivered by two freaked out looking, young paramedics 😂 but we got to the Labour ward as I pushed him out. Congratulations ❤

@S1lver. Belated congratulations ❤

@maddiie3. I hope you are feeling better.

@LimpLettice. I hope you get on ok. I have a cardiology appointment on Friday as an echo I had done a week ago showed that my heart isn't working as well as it should be. Not going to lie, I'm worried about it.
