Foxy - that sounds like a lovely evening. We have bought summer fruits crumble from Waitrose so I am going to gorge on that, followed by a DVD (Little Children with Kate Winslet).

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 18:34

My DH won't let us put up the baby's crib, or collect the cot from our friend, or have the pushchair in our flat! It's v unlike him to be so superstitious!

What's the name website TA?

Have a good night justbeme!

LOL at 'just stare at the baby'

doggus · 16/06/2007 18:36

Yes, TA, what is the name site - I have found the bounty one (google bounty baby names) but I need more inspiration. I fell in love with the boy's name Skippy yesterday but dh vetoed

trendaverter · 16/06/2007 18:37

Baby names with historic popularity etc Here

foxybrown · 16/06/2007 18:39

Elvis and Duke were in the running for DS1, but I was single then so didn't need DPs input. Jude doesn't know how lucky he is

trendaverter · 16/06/2007 18:42

We have boys name sorted - it was the ONLY thing we could agree on and so is all set - girl names proving considerably more difficult!

foxybrown · 16/06/2007 18:42

Are you going to tell us?

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 18:44

This is a great one too!

OP posts:
trendaverter · 16/06/2007 18:45

Nope!!
I am not worried about name thieves but I am a believer that people are less likely to take the piss when LO already has the name!

Anyway come on I need to keep the ceremony alive now that the little sod has kept us all waiting this long

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 18:46

Doggus...we'll put that one down to hormones

doggus · 16/06/2007 18:46

Bumper - that's my fave, with all the swishy graphics. I hadn't seen that one, TA, excellent at finding saints' names like the good Catholic girl I am (supposed to be).

annobal · 16/06/2007 18:46

God, we're so boring we only have pretty traditional names for our LOs. Think we're having 2nd thoughts on the names though and have decided to wait until LO is born.

Huge congratulations Tallulah. I love the name, it is so pretty. Looking forward to your birth story and all the gory details!

Congrats also to Claire

trendaverter · 16/06/2007 18:48

oooh bumper funky

I am going to have fun

foxybrown · 16/06/2007 18:48

Annobal - do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? Sorry, I know I keep asking

doggus · 16/06/2007 18:48

I do worry about the hormonal influence, daisy, dh hasn't a feckin clue either, so when I announce the poor lo's name, please just all say you love it. We have only one criteria - we have a surname that you HAVE to spell out so the first name must be reasonably obvious (hence Skippy).

doggus · 16/06/2007 18:50

I've just been vetoed on another name by dh - Daphne. Now tell me honestly, is Daphne dreadful?

trendaverter · 16/06/2007 18:50

Do you think people will take the piss with the initials ARF?

Oh it is a silly question isn't it. Back to the drawing board

annobal · 16/06/2007 18:51

LOL Doggus re Skippy. Not sure that one would pass the supermarket test. Can't get the theme tune for Skippy out of my head now...

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 18:54

It's really annoying isn't it doggus - I have to spell both my first and second names all the time - not because they are weird but just because there are lots of different spellings. Don't want this LO to have to do that all the time.

I have printed out a list of names that we like and stuck it in the baby's hospital bag, we have picked out our faves but not committing to them until we see it.

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 18:56

TA, I wouldn't worry about those initials, really, how often does the subject of initial come up anyway? If it spelled an obviously rude word I would worry but ARF is fairly innocuous.

OP posts:
annobal · 16/06/2007 18:56

Sorry Doggus - that sounded really rude. Daphne is lovely and I know a 5 year old called Daphne who is really lovely.

Foxy, we're having another boy (that's 3 boys )

bumperlicious · 16/06/2007 18:57

Daphne might be one of our middle names, as it is MILs name. I think it is cute, though it does remind me of MIL! Actually, the more I think about it, the more I like it.

OP posts:
foxybrown · 16/06/2007 18:58

Doggus, my DD insists on being called Daphne! But she calls me Velma

foxybrown · 16/06/2007 18:59

I really wanted another boy 3rd time - I had visions of long, leisurely saturdays on my own when DP took them all to footy
