Estate Agents are the devil's own work, i tell ya!!! (sorry if there are any on this thread! )

Fingers crossed you hear something soon and good luck for tomoz!

muppetgirl · 02/07/2007 16:56

HI all, would you mind me gatecrashing at this late stage as I could be oct/nov?

I am officialy 22 weeks today which gives me edd of 5th nov BUT 20 week scan has said that I am too big for dates by at least 2 weeks. Went to see midwife who disagrees and says it's not big at all!!

Wouldn't mind but ds1 was 9lb 1oz and are slightly paranoid about having a big baby.

Feel big and can't keep up with this weather when I don't have a full range of clothes to wear!!

RGPargy · 02/07/2007 17:04

Hello Muppetgirl and welcome!

Medics, eh? They dont know what they're talking about!

Pixiefish · 02/07/2007 18:00

Hia muppetgirl. They keep changing my dates as well BUT I know my lmp and even when the deed was done (as we'd sort of given up that month )

ara · 02/07/2007 18:09

Hello everyone....i'm just sitting still after work for a min while DP has gone for a swim and i have just felt lots of wriggling!!!! I'm so excited!! that's the first movement i've felt. Can't wait till he comes home xx

ara · 02/07/2007 18:11

Congrats RGPargy - must be a weight off, and good luck Loopymumsy with your viewing tomorrow

littleoldme · 02/07/2007 18:45

Rg - congrats on finally exchanging. That's great news.

Choudru- really pleased you have found somewhere you are happy with to move to.

Sounds like life is going well.

Muppetgirl - welcome to the thread - the more the merrier.

All the stuff on re-useable was intresting. My mate swears by mother-ease ones.

easywriter · 02/07/2007 19:28

Well, we got through it and everything is OK as far as can be seen (phew). Thanks for all the good luck. The girls really enjoyed seeing their new sister on screen. Yep! We're only adding to the pink fluffiness!

I can't believe it's all OK. (But I am very grateful that it is).
The only downer was that in Ante-natal clinic I came face to face with the bitch doctor who gave me a sweep without my knowledge or consent!!

Although I wasn't expecting it, i suddenly realised that her actions are a lot to with why i don't want to be within a million miles of a hospital during labour and delivery unless I have a medical need to be.

Well done RGPargy and good luck Loopy. Treeeemendous respect to all you pregnant house hunters and buyers!!

I hope everyone else with a scan today got good news too.

Pixiefish · 02/07/2007 19:38

Fab news Easy x

AnnainNZ · 02/07/2007 19:42

Yay easywriter - glad everything good at scan. So lovely to be able to realx afterwards isn't it?

COngrats on the house RG, we bought for the first time last Oct and I too had a big "argh, this is really grown up and final" moment. And I was 35! Then got married and up the duff in the next 6 months so i guess you could say i grew up fast...

Pixiefish · 02/07/2007 19:43

I can't believe I'm grown up enough to have a dd and another sprog on the way- argh

getting old's difficult isn't it. Probably sounds odd but I read posts about people having second children with a new partner after a huge age gap & I sort of think "blimey, you must be mad" and I automatically think they're "old" I conveniently forget the 17 year age gap between DD & DS and the fact that I'll be 41 this year Just goes to show you're only as old as you feel . Today I am 20 and oozing gorgeosity

Easywriter - I'm so glad your worries were unfounded and that you'll be having another perfect DD bet your others were thrilled to see her.

RGPargy - congratulations on the exchange!!!!! blimey, monday - how quick is that!!! I don't envy you the packing though.

muppetgirl - congrats & welcome (you're due the same day as me ) how many DCs do you have?

OP posts:
purplepants · 02/07/2007 19:59

Loopy - I still have some of my DDs

RGPargy · 02/07/2007 20:09

Congrats Easy!!!! Phew, what a relief!

Purplepants - didn't realise you are more or less the same age as me (i'm 39) and i too have a 17 year age gap between this one and DS.

Pixiefish · 02/07/2007 20:10

I'm 37 as well RG although I only have 3 1/2 years between the two

purplepants · 02/07/2007 20:14

RG - I was 39 when I had DS so you've plenty of time to get another one (or two) in

jetgirl · 02/07/2007 21:31

It's taken me ages to catch up, so much chat in one weekend!

We've had a lot of fun with the in-laws visiting, they've been very well-behaved and so far no stress all round!

Congrats on the house RG, and thanks for your comments about my pics.

Geekinpigtails - I've just discovered from mumsnet local that you're in the same place as me! We should meet for a coffee sometime.

The sight of Serena Williams in pain on centre court today had me weeping - bloody hormones!

RGPargy · 02/07/2007 21:50

Blimey, how many other 30 somethings are on this November thread?

Purplepants - i'm hoping to squeeze out at least another after this one (famous last words!!).

jetgirl · 02/07/2007 21:53

I'm feeling young - I'm 29

RGPargy · 02/07/2007 21:56

ggrrrr @ being under 30.

choudru · 02/07/2007 22:13

Another 30-something reporting for duty. But only just (31).

I for one will not be squeezing out any more after this one. I did always picture myself with 3 children but I hate being pregnant so much that I can't face it a third time.

My life just comes to a complete halt for the first 4 months - is not fair on DS because he's only really had half a mum since I got pregnant.

But then again if there are so many women happily having babies in their late 30s then maybe I will change my mind by then?

Have had a bit of a sicky tiring day today.

Easy - am so happy for you about the scan. What a load off your mind! And as for having more pink fluff - your DD might as well join in with the other little girls bouncing around in our bellies right now.

Wonder how Dawn got on? Good luck for tomorrow Mimi!

Welcome muppetgirl - do you know the sex of your LO?

Congrats RG - am very chuffed on your behalf How are you going to manage packing by the way? I have 3 weeks and I'm not looking forward to it. It shouldn't be too bad though since I didn't bother unpacking half the stuff when we moved up from London in Jan.

And to add to the conversation about being grown up - I'm one of those rare people who have kind of felt grown up since I was in early 20s. I think it may be because apart from uni mates, most of my friends are in their late 30s.

Mind you, I always loved the poem 'When I get old I will wear purple'. Something about making up for the 'sobriety of my youth'.

Love the idea of growing old into an old eccentric

Pixiefish · 02/07/2007 22:23

There won't be any more here either. Same as you choudru- I can't go through this again and same as you I don't think it's fair on my dd. Plus after the triple test I doubt whether I could ever go through all that again

RGPargy · 02/07/2007 22:26

Hi Choudru. Sorry you've had a sicky day today. Hope you feel better tomorrow!

As for moving, well we've done quite a lot already. We still have loads to do tho, so we're trying to do bits and pieces every night. What a nightmare tho - sooooo much rubbish!! You would not believe how many black sacks we have chucked out already!!
