Jossiejump · 25/06/2007 22:26

AnnainNZ, hope you are ok
I had a detailed private scan today-it was incredibly clear. The sonographer couldn't find any downs syndrome markers, this doesn't mean that it definately isn't downs syndrome, but it makes it more unlikely.
I was so stressed about the appt, but glad I went.
Best wishes to you

sparklygothkat · 25/06/2007 22:49

he also said I can tell people who I think will not tell him, but no-one, not even me, can buy anything pink or blue..

AnnainNZ · 26/06/2007 00:29

Jossie that's wonderful news. You must be mightily relieved. I have my appointment in 2 hours and I'm shitting myself to be honest! All be over soon though.

AnnainNZ · 26/06/2007 05:39

Ignore the last post, I'm back from the scan and everything's fine! Well, they obviously can't rule things out completely but they gave me a risk of baby having DS as actually smaller than I got from my nuchal fold and blood tests! They checked loads of stuff in really careful detail, didn;t find any other markers for Downs and found lots of stuff all fine that prob wouldn't have been if there was any kind of problem. Huge weight off my mind, it's been a horrible week and I actually cried on the way home but they were tears of happiness...

purplepants · 26/06/2007 07:03

wow! - first time on in ages and greeted by fantastic news! I'm so thrilled it's all ok for you Anna - now you can relax and really enjoy the rest of your pg

So much has been going on!! I've tried to catch up but the posting's been prolific!! (maybe later eh!)

I've had family up for the past fortnight then we were away for the weekend so I've not had time to get on the computer. LO is very active though - seems to wake me at around 5.30am every morning with a hearty kicking lol (anyone else noticed their LO getting a routine?) and so far so good with the diabetes - or lack of it no sugar at the mw check last week so things are still on for a homebirth yay!!!!!!!

Really pleased the scans are going well and good luck to anyone with scans today!

I'm so pleased for you Anna and glad that you're in NZ ina way

I woke up this morning thinking of you and wondering how you'd get on and because of the time difference you've already been.

Wowser news

geekInPigtails · 26/06/2007 11:41

Hello everyone! Wow you have been busy while I've been away, new thread with tons of posts already! Sorry I've not got time to catch up properly. Just thought I'd let you know I had my scan yesterday and it was just great Everything looks normal from a medical perspective (apparently), and we got to see its face and fingers and toes and it was stamping its feet most of the way through the scan! We'd decided not to find out the sex, but the past couple of weeks I'd been wavering a bit because both DH and I have been occasionally slipping into saying "he" about the baby and I'm a bit worried it'll be a shock if its actually a girl! But when we were actually in there having the scan, all thoughts of that escaped me and I was totally focused on watching my baby and checking everything was OK - didn't actually care whether it was a girl or boy! The sonographer didn't mention it either, so they may not have told us if we'd wanted to know anyway.

Better go, got tons of work to catch up on. Wish I was back in Greece! Hope you're all doing OK, I'll try to catch up better in the next couple of days.

FCH · 26/06/2007 14:18

Hello Loopy - been away and am back to find we have lots in common - maybe we will be bumping into each other in RL! This is our first so we are incredibly excited and also a bit nervous but I have signed up for weekend ante-natal classes with NCT and am hoping to meet lots of other mums-to-be!

Is any one else finding that time is accelerating? I keep thinking that there is just loads going on between now and November and so much organising to fit in. I am sure I will be panicking in a few weeks!

Anna and Jossie - am dead chuffed for you both. What a relief!!!

I have been feeling a big sicky and tired the last few days. Not sure why. Need to learn to grab a nap when DS is napping.

Sparkly - well done on wearing down DH about finding out the sex - if you tell us when you find out we ABSOLUTELY promise we won't tell him.

MrsJ - I do feel like I have been pregnant for ages but must admit I am feeling like there is not that long to go now. Especially since I could potentially have this baby in 10 weeks if we have a repeat performance of DS!

Even if I go to term - 4 months doesn't seem that far away. Maybe coz I'm due right at the beginning of Nov.

Very happy people are coming back with good news from scans - good luck for tomorrow Germangal and Pinklady!

Welcome Dawn - have added you to the list. We do chat a lot. My DH has already started commenting on my eagerness to check up on the thread he he

choudru · 26/06/2007 14:30

Loopy - you got your next scan date yet?

By the way - we need someone to report back that they are expecting a boy now before the thread drowns in pinkness.

RGPargy · 26/06/2007 14:42

Hi everyone!

Anna & Jossie - So glad everything's ok with you both!

We seem to have quite a few baby girls on this thread already! I wonder what the ratio will be when it comes to our D-Days in November??

I think time is absolutely FLYING since i got pg!! I cant believe i'm 18 weeks already and am nearly halfway there!!

Still no news on exchanging on our house yet. It's got to be any day now.... hasn't it?!!!

AnnainNZ · 26/06/2007 14:46

Thanks for all the good wishes and support over the last week, it's been a horrible week and I'm so relieved we've had a positive outcome

(Now I must stop thanking people, am starting to sound like I'm making an Oscars speech - like the one where Gwyneth Paltrow wore a pink dress and cried a lot )

What a nightmare about exchanging - hope it gets sorted soon RG.

Littleoldme - sorry for not replying earlier. I am looking to rent for 12 months. Am ready to move asap. We rented out our London flat when we moved up north in January because we wanted to get to know Leeds before deciding where to buy.

Then I got pregnant so now we have put off buying a house until this time next year.

The place we are renting at the moment was only meant to be temporary so I'll be very upset if I end up staying here much longer. It's not where I imagined bringing my baby home to.

Really want to find somewhere soon so anything you can suggest would be fab.

There seems to be nothing on the market in North Leeds at the moment!

choudru · 26/06/2007 14:58

P.S. Hope you got your SPD thing sorted...

littleoldme · 26/06/2007 16:18

Anna and Jossie - I'm so pleased your scans have turned out well. Hopefully you'll be able to relax a bit now.

choudru - no worries I'll chat to my freind and see if she can help. She has two or three properties she rents round here so if she hasn't got anything she might have some hints.
Things on the pain front have calmed down and all is feeling much easier now.

FCH - know what you mean about time - Feels like November is ages away. then I think of all the things I've got to do and - arghhhh.

RG hopr the house stuff happens soon - must be like waiting for a a baby.

sparklygothkat · 26/06/2007 16:20

I'll tell you lot when I find out!! But no emailing DH please!!

Pixiefish · 26/06/2007 16:47

lol sparkly.

It's not long you know. There's 3 1/2 weeks till the end of term, 6 weeks sumemr hols and then possible 8 weeks for me till my due date. It really isn't a long time broken down like that- argh

sparklygothkat · 26/06/2007 17:08

I know, once those summer holidays start it will really whizzed past..
